"Anti-Greed Act" to redistribute income (sounds like Charlie Rangel's promises soak-the-rich tax bill) and the "Equalization of Opportunity Act" to prevent people from starting more than one business (to give other people a chance). My personal favorite, the "Anti Dog-Eat-Dog Act," aims to restrict cut-throat competition between firms and thus slow the wave of business bankruptcies. Why didn't Hank Paulson think of that?"

"Democratic leaders also want to make renewable energy a priority in this session."
Sure, that will do it. My God, these idiots are hopeless. With oil at 40 at a barrel and that's sticking what's the economic advantage of alternatives?....anyone, Ferris, Ferris Bueller!
And, "forced savings", love it, just how is that lame concept going to be inforced.
To be a Democrat/Canadian Liberal/European socialist is to be perpetually a child, I feel, therefore I am.
It is all just reflective of the desperation of the situation in the US.
The Fed can print $$$ all it wants - OK for the federal government in the short run (not really, but you know what I mean) - but states, who depend on personal and business income tax to function - are screwed.
As I was driving to Vegas from Tonapoh there was a guy in front of me on a motorcycle. His hands weren't on the bars at about 130 kph. He was steering by slight arm movements. The highway was like glass and they were ripping it up and re-laying it. They don't need a lot of highway money. On our highways he may not have made it for 2 minutes. He did it for about 20.
Charging drivers for mileage instead of gas is like charging people for how much they eat instead of how much they spend on food.
How disgustingly communist.
"Susan Martinovich, director of the Nevada Transportation Department, said this week that a study is under way in Washoe County to see how taxing miles driven might work.
Martinovich said vehicles would be equipped with a mechanism tracking when the car is driven, where it’s driven and how far."
Have any of these Democlowns even taken a look at the cost and infrasturcture required to do this??? Oh wait.Cost? No problem, charge the taxpayer.Infrasturcture? Not problem.More jobs for the bureaucratic ass-licking friends.
Unless motorists are doing the Fred Flintstone and moving cars with their feet, gasoline consumption and vehicle type provide a good estimate for how much a vehicle is used. They already tax gasoline... Maybe the Nevada Transportation Department will send me half the consultancy fee they save by pointing this out...
They'll go broke on that bill. I'm living about the same distance from work as seems to be the case no matter where we locate, between 7 and 15 miles. The '03 has 11K miles, the '04 has 26K. Good luck, Marxist slime.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

mailserver in Europe)
I can't answer or use every
tip, but all are
appreciated!

Funny how I went to Vegas in early October(36 degrees one day!) and the bus driver was bragging how Vegas is immune to economic slowdowns.
Hmmm. A "justapose?"
Let me guess. That's when you fake it?
Dwindling tourism when nobody has money to be a tourist is a bill.
Heard last night you can get a room at Ceasar's Palace for 15 bucks a night.
That's the kind of change I can believe in!

I cant wait to hear Lizzy May or her Liberal/Ndp retard counterparts suggest taxing drivers for mileage. I cant believe it came up in Nevada first.
