Not dead enough.

(Update - try this link if the other gives you problems.)

What desperation.

When you start giving away your product for free, you know the store is about to close. This free offer is just a death rattle.

It is music to my years, or would that be eyes?

Yeah, I registered with the CBC website for "free" and ever since I've been getting up to fifty spam messages per day. So good luck with the NYT site.

Ummm ... is this something new from them?

The good news is that if the NDP ever form the federal government here in Canada, we won't have an ocean to cross to be free.
Don't think the NDP are like the Cuban Communists? Think again.

Link fixed now...

however...I found this story at NYT as well.

Obama's plans to help the jobless...not to work.

In the future we will refer to the States as USSA.

I liked the previous link better. It gave me the option not to join.

Sorry about that - I was able to access it without a registration prompt at all.

Thanks Kate. I went back to the site and didn't join again.

I didn't join either. Top left corner, clicked 'HOME' and bypassed the wall.

Har......... and the Cheer Leaders for Che and his ilk are hoping for links from our world to bolster their traffic.

On Cuba BTW -
You may note that 50 years of celebrating things like this:

"The Year of Education" really isn't much of an accomplishment.

Old Marxists..... never dead enough!

How sweet it is!!!!

Bluetech:
If the NYT finds out what you did, they'll probably do a big expose on an evil right wing hacker :-)

Thanks, bluetech. That worked, but now my puter is swearing out me for going to that puke site!

Well, I won't join 'cause I don't want the spam but... Fidel's dead, si? I bet he's dead. As dead as everyone seems to think the NYT will be soon.

Maybe we should register, then e-mail the NYT telling them we want to de-register, because we don't like the free version any better than the hard copy.

My advice is to go ahead and register. I haven't seen any increase of spam as a result, and it's not an unreasonable exchange for free content.

Ed, that's mean.

If you are going to register for anything that isn't of paramount importance to you, get a 'junk' email address for that purpose. Go there occasionally to do the deletions. Keep your main Email address for those you want to hear from.

There is no shortage of online Email places such as Gmail.com, Inbox.com, Hotmail.com, Yahoo.com etc.

The Times isn't all bad. Bill Kristol is usually a good read.

Well, that headline was sue a shocker! Here,I figured one of the world's socialist heroes had shuffled off.

The link worked just fine, and I read about the thousands of people fleeing Cuba, and the latest sad story.

Maybe it would be better for everyone if Obama did open relations with Cuba. Once Cubans get a taste of the real world, I think communism will be dead, even dead enough for Kate!

As it stands now, Canadian NDP'ers go to Cuba for vacations, I know several government employees and old union men who regularly go there. They see what Cuba wants them to see, and the myth is carried on over here, that they're a valiant, untroubled people whose only problem is the Great Satan's trade embargo.

Well, in only a few more days, we'll see how someone other than Bush operates. I wonder if the MSM papers will use syrup instead of ink when reporting on the new guy.

Speaking of 50 yrs of slavery and stupidity under the idiot communist Castro, we in Canada are also celebrating 66 yrs of slavery and stupidity under the Canadian Wart Board, no wait, that's the Wheat Board.

It never ceases to amaze me how the Canadian MSM can see the wrongs and warts in other countries, ie the USA, and yet just go merrily on their way past the anti-human rights of the CWB.

We are now into the fourth generation of Western Canadian farmers that have had their human rights abrogated and ignored by the Canadian justice system.
The CWB Act is a despicable POS, unworthy of a country like Canada, that would never see the light of day following the Charter of Rights and Freedoms in any serious country.

Is there any other country in the civilized world where 4 generations of people have been born into economic slavery? And can't get out of it.

Only in the farce called Canada you say?
What a bloody pity.

and for those that will not give up fighting against the Castro brothers see... or, "before you book that next holiday down south"... why not read how the other side lives?

www.therealcuba.com lots of photos... of how well the revolution treats their own, including photos of how bad off the cubans were prior to 1959... as compared to the crumbling buildings they currently occupy? includes photos of "the real Che" including some of him murdering people, and of course, Che just prior to being "off'ed" himself, with his hands still attached.

www.babalublog.com new updates everyday of the cuban situation. and the "coverage" of Cuba in the msm. and... this may be topical here at SDA, the 2006 latino weblog winner. This is always the time of year to check out who's doing what in the blogasphere...

good people and favorites both.

How can this be????

our very own CBCpravda put on a special hosted by Dr. Suzuki showing Cuba as a paradise of sustainable agriculture. wonderful fields being plowed by donkeys , fertilized by night soil . and a GDP of the whole population hardly approaching the tax load of Dr. Daves little hideaway by Kitsalano Beach in Vancouver.

An excerpt from the article, "...and even now, the revolution attracts many fans β€” as evidenced by the Canadian tour agencies advertising trips β€œto celebrate five decades of resilience.”

Travel agencies whoring themselves for profits in sending tourists to Cuba for cheap tropical vacations. The Communist dictatorship thereby gets hard currency to prop itself up and prolongs the day of Cuba's liberation. Canadian money, invested in Cuban dictatorship.

If the Americans were to lift the embargo, then after a couple of years when the Cuban economy was still moribund, the embargo couldn't falsely be blamed any more.

rockyt: "It never ceases to amaze me how the Canadian MSM can see the wrongs and warts in other countries, ie the USA, and yet just go merrily on their way past the anti-human rights of the CWB."

Same with elections and parties. They'll tell you there's a couple of dozen parties in places like Israel or Germany, but rarely go outside the "major" ones in Canada (except the Greens in '08).

One has to love the hypocrisy of leftarded moonbats.

They campaign against capital punishment to keep the likes of Clifford Olson and Paul Bernardo alive, yet they worship the ground that Che"I do not believe in due process before I execute someone" Chevera walked on.

Only brain dead leftarded jerk off artists would subscribe to that logic.
