Canadians have been bailing that idustry for many years...in the form CBC, and other 'cultural' events such a gay pride parades and porn movies to name a few.
It's sooo yesterday, USA is just behind the times.
Surely Canadian bloggers who provide the only real coverage and analysis of events in this country deserve a bailout. They should at least be compensated at the same levels as the Canadian Auto Workers including the gold-plated pensions. Since most auto workers are male and the best Canadian bloggers are female (SDA, Five Feet of Fury, Ezra Levant) failure to bail out Canadian bloggers would be a definite sign of sexism and should result in a Human Rights Complaint.
I couldn't sleep early one Saturday morning so I got up to watch some TV - Showcase was showing some of the most graphic porn under the guise of 'documentaries" - and yes I did think I saw a government of Canada logo at the end of the program (OK I watched - I'm an adult!) If porn can't make it with government subsidies, canada surely is screwed.
All over the US and Canada kids are getting off work and taking off that apron at MacDonald's, punching out at BlockBusters, picking up their checks at Dunkin' Donuts and Tim Horton's, satisfied in the knowledge they have scrimped for enough money to buy that bus ticket to Los Angeles.
They arrive with stars in their eyes.
And just as so many others have made the trek to Hollywood, they arrive and try to find out how to get to the San Fernando Valley.
Do you honestly want little Tommy and Susie to finally get an appointment with one of the big adult entertainment producers, only to be told, "I"m sorry, Tommy, I'm sorry Susie, there's just not enough business for you right now."
Frankly, I'm too sensitive to feel comfortable about dashing the hopes and dreams of these youngsters trying to follow their idols into this world of DVD porn distribution.
If I were a Congressman or a Senator, I know I couldn't stand to see the disappointed look in that young person's eyes, and I don't believe you would either.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."
homepage email Kate (goes to a private
mailserver in Europe)
I can't answer or use every
tip, but all are
appreciated!
"I got so much traffic afteryour post my web host asked meto buy a larger traffic allowance."Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you
send someone traffic,
you send someone TRAFFIC.
My hosting provider thought
I was being DDoSed. -

Sooner or later it had to cum to this .
Do you realize how much wardrobe costs? Oh..wait.
So many congressmen would have personal knowledge of so many XXX industry "workers" it would be like giving money to family members.
And the Canadian equivalent bail-out? Maybe we can reinstate those 'cultural' grants!!

I'm sure Quebec would like a bailout of the porn industry. It would definitely fit into french culture like a white flag on a battlefield.

Shouldnt we wait to see if Santa recieved his bail out first?
a real 'money shot'
Just wait, the Dems will cut out the middle man (Hustler et al) and screw the American taxpayer directly.
The Americans are just playing catch-up. We bin dun payed for "Young people F**king".
I wonder if the "slow-down" is hurting the hoes. How many men are staying home and playing pocket hockey? I think package stimulus is in required!
Oops, I meant stimulus package:-(
"Just to see us through hard times,"
Because the economy is soft.
It's a cruel thing, to step on a child's dreams.

the sex-O-industry needs a shot in the XXXXX to stiffen things up a little, isn't that what the auto unions demanded viagara coverage for?????
Kind of gives the phrase, "Stimulus? My Ass!" an entirely new meaning ... especially when spoken out loud!
A winning proposition!
Nice shot, Phil.
The bailout queue is going to get long. But getting the money will be harder. In the end, they're all boobs.
