The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”
I wish they could clone Laura Ingram. Her voice gets me all a tingling.
two thoughts:
1. It now seems unlikely that BO will ever recommend Americans “wear a sweater” like jimmy did.
2. Perhaps there is another reason for the heat – intimidation and. Dominance of visitors. All of those who come to see him will have to sit sweltering in suits while he is relaxed in shirtsleeves. BO certainly wouldn’t be the first potus to engage in such tactics.
I’m way late with my brilliant pun, but… apparently he is turning the White House into a Green House/greenhouse (geddit?).

For goodness sake! He’s at work, he should be allowed to take of the Jacket. I do. BUT, to say he cranked the thermostat because he’s from Hawaii is just stupid! HE’S FROM CHICAGO, it gets cold there, DUH! If the man likes to work in shirtsleeves, so what! Just say “He likes to work in his shirtsleeves”. That’s it! Done! There’s no need to make up a story. Despite the fact that he is a protectionist socialist asshole, he still has the right to work in shirtsleeves without it being a big deal.
