Weblog Awards
Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Now that is something to be proud of Kate.
Bravo, Kate!
Make sure you charge top dollar for radio and TV appearances…
It is a great thing to see appreciation accolades going to someone who deserves to be honored. You have earned every vote, ten fold, Kate. I like the blogs that are your competition, and so I’m sure that some of the other people voting FOR you like the competition too. The results are a statement that says so much about you and SDA.
Well Done, Sask. Lass.
“Small Dead Animals doesn’t (only) speak for the people of Saskatchewan”
Well done Kate.
I remember when I first came here Small Dead Animals was only knee-high to a – ahem – small dead animal.
Congrats Kate. Well done!
New York Times, Huh?
As I recall, It’s not kates favorite paper-buncha lyin’ scum…reminds me of that old WC Fields line “I wouldn’t belong to a club that would have me as a member” or better yet… that old grade school saying: “consider the source”
God, I must look at those stupid results 10 times a day. Why can’t I vote more often than once a day. I think I’m almost as excited as Kate must be.
Kudos.
Horny Toad
Doesn’t anyone look at the navigation bar when they click a link?
Good gag.
Luv it! BZ Kate.
PS. Don’t tell anyone, but the Torch could sure use some SDA link love in the Best Canadian Blog category.
PS2. My mom didn’t raise any shy boys, hence the request above. 🙂
Best luck in the awards
Nice article, but I’m not sure those damn yankees are going to take this lying down, Kate.
Ah the good old NYT, can see the silver lining in anything.
Did the NYT pay you to use that picture?
😀
“obscure” blog from Saskatchewan?!?!
Good one Kate!
“Doesn’t anyone look at the navigation bar when they click a link?
Posted by: ural”
How does it go, “All of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time.”?
Lefties strive to do their best to qualify for the later.
shhhhhhhhhhhhh, good one Kate!
Sounds of turning pages fill the room as countless Americans leaf through their encyclopaedias to learn where Saskatchewan is…
Hey, Kate. Way to go! Second place and gaining. I’m doing my bit … only 12 hours to go till I can vote again! Count on it …
” Get five copies for my mother.” Good on ya Kate! They didn’t even photoshop the gopher!
LOL. Priceless.
Don’t write off LGF, though. If LGF makes a push to try to win, they have such a huge following that it would be hard to stop them. All it took was a post on LGF regarding best Africa/Middle East blog to turn that competition totally around in several hours and take it away from the lefty blogger Juan Cole in a few hours. Totten’s blog (deserving as it is) got 4000 votes in the space of much less than a day. That’s more than LGF or SDA has had so far in the entire competition.
Just saying….
But GO SDA!!!
WOW!!! Kate!!! The left are in total meltdown and will be crying foul and hurling evil epithets in all directions, while you can bet your bottom dollar that the big American right leaning bloggers, if defeated by you, will graciously accept it and issue you hearty congratulations. Mark my word. I know I will certainly congratulate the winner, and if it isn’t you, I will certainly send my warmest accolades in your direction at the same time.
Good for you Kate! And you are humble, describing yourself as obscure…
Reality is folks the only dead animals ever pictured in the NYT would be humans.Rodents have rights in NY y’know.
Also good to see Hot Air wiping out the Huffin Puffers.
Not to rub salt …-

“westward, look, the land is bright.”

SDA in the NYT. Hell has indeed frozen over. (and I mean that in a good way)
Just goes to show, if you kick it in the balls hard enough, often enough, even a giant US corporate dinosaur will eventually turn its head.
Kick ’em again Kate.
*cough* …. some of you should check your navigation bars, as has been suggested by others… lol
Woo Hoo Kate! Looks like it might be awhile before this one runs its course. And it’s all fun and games until you’re pinned to the ground and threatened with ear tagging. Which is what happened to me when I whipped off an html to my brother in law. It was an article from the Calgary Herald, his photo included, about his demand that gender specific roles be removed from square dancing.

First I thought it was legit. Then I thought of the ramifications of putting a dead gopher on the
NYT front page. The leftards would be howling.
Anyway made me laugh. I hope you win, Kate.
Oh, frack.
Hey, can I act like Warnout Kinsmellya and get all huffy now?
For a second there I thought the NYT had found a clever way of getting some traffic.
Without the benefit of a nav bar or images on the blackberry, the description of SDA as ‘obscure’ still gave it away.
Oh great now I’m even more cynical.
Good one, Kate.
Despite the trickery, that’s the proudest dead gopher I’ve ever seen.
Lay tall dead gopher, lay tall.
I am pleased for you, Kate, to receive the recognition for all your hard work.
I am also pleased that this platform continues to rise as one from which to even the playing field between us and the likes of the Toronto (Red) Star, the Negligibly Democratic Party, the CBC, CTV, the Adscam Party Of Thieves, the Non-Christian Rights Councils and Kangaroo Tribunals, the Canadian Hezbollah and Hamas Fan Clubs, the Global Warming Fraud Artists, all manner of Joooo-haters, The Messiah’s Mainstream Media Arm, Communist Chinese Poison Exporters, Oil For Food Scam Banks Of Paris, Where is the Tsunami Money Foundations, Relocation Contract Flim-Flammers, Overweight Whale-Watchers, Political Parties pretending to be Labor Unions, Green Lane Ranters,… ach, the list is too long.
The rise of SDA is a wake up call to scumbags everywhere: not all of the people are somnambulant. The information cocoon created by the MSM continues to deteriorate apace.
Welcome U.S. readers.
What better time and place for Canadians to let our American friends know that Bill O’Reilly plays well in Canada,so that Canadians are aware that The New York Times is a leftist rag exactly the same as the Toronto Star and GlobeMedia are in Canada.
Good on Kate McMillan and SDA, she should have been selected as the Senator to represent Saskatchewan, and not Pam Wallin!!!
HAHAHHAHAHHA
just checked the Nav bar.
ROFL.

The line was actually spoken by Groucho Marx
“Saskatchewan” Easy to draw, hard to spell.
2 Funny.
haha…love the self promotion going on over here…way to motivate the base to get out there and vote!
Everybody get out and vote!
KAte ya big tease….NYT too funny
Interesting article fron an obscure New York newspaper!
Way to go, Kate.
Mischief is important – and very effective !!
#1 in wit,by far. I was tempted to mail the page to the Ace of spades, but then thought that may only cause him to rally his troops.I wonder if cbc can be fooled? heh, heh,we shall see.
Popularity has its cost. In case of blog, it usually comes with lower quality and originality of comments.
LGF is the prime example where an article getting hundreds of chatter-gutter posts like “Yes”, “Here we go”, “this was easy” etc.
One: That’s the NYT front page as it should be.
Two: I don’t know how you did it. The rest of the links on the page ARE the NYT. How’d you plug your own stuff in the middle of it?
SDA needs another surge of 300 votes. I e-mailed my family and friends.
Pretty easy, Warwick. Open page source, save it to a file, edit where necessary, and rehost it on your own server.
Sometimes you need to tweak stuff, like adding a base href to get everything to load.
(Let that be a warning to anyone who thinks the screenshot is the last word on capturing content on a website.)
Then, I e-.mailed adleronline. Perhaps we can plug the contest on some radio shows in Canada. Lets’ mobilize, let’s win.
…nice to be known as obscure!
Enjoy the privacy Kate while the spotlights are being turned on.
But nothing new eh!
Congrats Kate!
Meanwhile, at the real New York Times website …
Vote early and vote often. I have.
Laugh while you can, Canadians! Laugh. While. You. Can.
(Brought to you by the Ace of Spades HQ for Best Conservative Weblog Campaign. Ace has no idea I’m here polluting your otherwise fine blog. We now return to the threats and insinuations.)
Say, someone told me that it’s impossible to prove a negative. Pretty lucky for you here at SDA, huh, what with the whole numerous-allegations-of-necrophilia thing?
