What most people don't seem to get is that this never was about Monica Lewinsky, it was all about Paula Jones. Specifically, her allegation that Clinton had forced her to have intercourse with her, and the scope of the questions that her lawyers were allowed to ask Clinton with respect to other affairs he might have had. Yes his answers were technically truthful according to the agreed upon definition of a "sexual relationship" for the purposes of the Paula Jones deposition ("sexual relationship = intercourse only): "Did you have a "sexual relationship" with Monica Lewinsky?" "No."

Was he deceptive? pretty much. But since when is the law about getting to the bottom of what is true? Was it impeachable? Not if impeachment is based upon the very same set of laws that allowed him to be deceptive in the first place! Was it sleazy? yes! Was he disloyal to his wife? Absolutely! Could somebody be removed from office for those things? I'd like to see it, but I bet most wouldn't go for it.

If only Blue Dresses could talk... Oh wait a minute, some speak volumes.

A president impeached for infidelity? No!

A president impeached for perjury? Absolutely!

This is not about sex or superior/subordinate inappropriate acts. Its about lying under oath.

Perhaps we need to define the “it” that we’re talking about.

The “it” that I see is that significant numbers of US citizens seem to think that it’s OK for the leader of their country, the most powerful man on earth, to be engaged (and caught) in such activities as blow-jobs in the oral office, jerking-off in the oral office sink, etcetera.

While I agree that those core activities (to wit BJ & JO) are perfectly normal, I am appalled that anyone entrusted with such a level of responsibility would embarrass the citizens of his country by leaving himself vulnerable to state-dinner jokes like “Hey pass those fine tasting cigars Bill, Ha Ha Ha.”

So, to me, “it” is about responsibility, duty and dignity. And “it” is about expecting those elected to public office to act, not only within legal bounds, but in a dignified manner that instills pride in the citizens that elected them.

Perhaps I’m so naive as to not realize that Bill Clinton escapades is what the American people actually want, in which case I should be cheering for old curvy-dick. But I doubt it.

So a stressed and horny President and Commander-in-Cheeks got a little head from a plump lil' cutie-pie who was well versed with the needs and nuances of the male anatomy.

Just think .. would you want a sexually frustrated President and leader of the greatest armed forces in the world with his shaky finger hovering over the big red nuke launch button ... or his finger on Monica's button and launching a ceegar for extra moisture and flavour from her love juices ...???!!!!

Now that's what I call ... service above and beyond the call of duty ... give her a medal like a Purple Heart or something ...!!!!

It was ABC Wash Press Core that first jumped on the story. The Network quickly replaced them by bringing Sam Donaldson & his old crew to DC to bury the story.

The only Network correspondent that stayed on the story was Lisa Myers NBC, but of course she didn’t get much face time.

No, actually, "real," I don't see. I'm a prosecutor and I've seen people get sent to prison for perjury, but meanwhile Clinton gets the slap on the wrist of having his bar license suspended when no one expected him to ever practice law again.

The President of the United States is supposed to enforce the law, not weasel his way around it: if anything, he (or she in the future) needs to be held to a HIGHER, not lower standard than Joe or Jane Citizen. Nor do I believe what Bill Clinton was ultimately impeached for were the only impeachable offenses he actually committed in office: I'm not a Vince Foster conspiracy-theorist, but campaign donations essentially from the Chinese government would rank pretty high up there among other things.

If a man will betray his wife, in a shabby and shallow, tawdry manner, he certainly will not balk at betraying his country and it's citizens.

Had Clinton been impeached, Gore might have won.
