Here’s another opportunity to engage in questionable business practices to “re-brand” Newsworld and the programming which nobody watches.
What the CBC will now do is hire a liberal friendly firm to create a new look for their newscasts – and the price tag won’t be cheap.

Some? How’s about any? I have not intentionally tuned into the CBC in two or three years except for Rememberance Day services in Ottawa.
The CBCs ratings are vapour…Making asthetic changes will do nothing…As long as the CBC continues in it’s blind sycophantic promotion of all things Liberal party, it will be an after thought for the majority of Canadians, just like their ideological comrades in the Liberal party. The CBC,CTV,Globe@Taliban, Toronto Red Star etc. only preach to the conditioned. A pack of Trudeauvian cultists who could care less about Canada, and even less what Canadians think. Changing program asthetics will do nothing until the staff has been de-progammed of their cult beliefs.

Right now, as I write, the CBC’s running a documentary by the sleazebag Linden McIntyre about Schrieber and Mulroney. I haven’t got the sound on (Chet Baker, Odetta, Frankie, and Dave Brubeck are far superior audio companions) but it’s clear what they’re trying to do with this old shoe: crown the Conservatives, and by association, PMSH and the CPC, even though the two parties are as different as night and day.

My mother told a story about her grade 11 english teacher. While trying to demonstrate the subject of a sentence, the teacher wrote “the beauty of the leaves are gone”, as a correct sentence. My mother argued that she’d made a mistake, but was scolded. My mother’s eyes would light up angrily, even 30 years later, when she recalled that incident.
Van Dyk wouldn’t catch on, even if it was explained to him. It’s a minor error, but he opened the door when he bragged about his superior language skills.

Added to the two errors in these three sentences is the fact that the average number of words per sentence—a very important indicator of writing competency—is only eight. If this short passage were written by an eight year old, van Dyk’s sentence structure would be just fine.
Somehow, I don’t believe that van Dyk is only eight.
(After about twelve years of age, the requirement that the average number of words per sentence equal one’s age no longer applies. What’s the importance of this? Longer sentences indicate that the writer is using more complex structures, such as subordinate clauses.)

You’ll all note that with the dropping of this show or that show the CBC is sure to mention that “the staff is likely to be reassigned to other shows”.
But of course! In the world of CTV or Global such cancellations of programs just might mean layoffs, especially in tough times. At the Mother Corp – hell, money is no object. We don’t have to lay people off. We can simply reassign them to another show. Just how the hell did those other shows survive before those employees were reassigned to them?

I have to say that I love Heartland. It’s about an extended family who are struggling to keep their ancestral horse ranch in Alberta; there is beautiful scenery set in the foothills and interesting characters. It’s a surprisingly good family show.
I just avoid the news, the National and George Snuffleupagus.
I like antiques roadshow, but I don’t watch it on CBC.
