  1. Mmmmm… giblets & gravy, stuffin’, sweet potatoes and of course turduckhen. Three football games and the day off to enjoy it all. Gads, I miss Thanksgiving, American style.
    Happy Thanksgiving Day y’all.

  2. Good point Kate.
I checked Google today…they make all kinds of attempts to recognise dates/people/events. They had one very bizarre tophat thingy the other day…(someone please enlighten me…what was that about?)
But of course nothing today in recognition of our American neighbours Thanksgiving.
Turkeys…hmmm. That’ll remind them of Gov. Palin.

  3. Make that ‘headless turkeys’.
BTW as a child I celebrated today, more than Canadian Thanksgiving.(American parents).
The parades on tv were the highlight for me.

  4. Raised home grown turkeys are the best dinner ever for all holidays. Whenever a turkey was need you picked up the nearest gun and went and made head shot. When finished bouncing, pulled feathers out, dressed turkey and put in warm salt water solution for 1 hour. 4 hours later had turkey dinner with all the trimmings. What more could people want, “great dinner conversation, sense of accomplishment, dogs and cats gets their treats and you get to shoot an unregistered gun”.
NOTE: TO ALL YOU CITY PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER SEEN A FARM IN YOUR LIFE. “They have complete stuffed/turkeys at your local grocer”. Now isn’t that sweet & wonderful. Wonder how many will get food poisoning this year from not cooking them properly. Follow the directions on the cyclophane people!!. We know that in today’s age that meat just magically appears in your grocer, wrapped and ready to cook.
    Happy thanksgiving USA.

  5. Happy Turkey Day all.
Speaking of which, I saw three in the field down by the house when I left for work this morning.
I’ll be bailing early to see if I can go back and bag ’em.
Too late for TDay. But early for Xmas.
I think it’ll be the Winchester Model 12 to go for a walk with later.
    😀 😀 😀

  6. Good shooting, Hard Right! 🙂
(BTW, I was once told by a former turkey farmer who hunts that there’s nothing as stupid as the domesticated turkey whereas wild turkeys are pretty wily -terrific smell and hearing, I guess- and a very challenging game to kill.)

  7. I grew up in downtown Toronto..we hunted our turkeys in aisle G at the A&P!!!
I believe we used the Mauser chambered for the .600 nitro express !!

  8. Just wait until inaugeration day. Google will replace the two O’s with two halos.
    Happy headless gobbler day!

  9. Happy Thanksgiving all Americans. May your joy be even greater this year as you celebrate
    ‘VICTORY IN IRAQ’!!!!!!
