Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Love the comments. Alan Colmes is as pompous and non thinking as you can get, yet all the meat heads that hate Fox still bray at the moon. If Fox is so one sided, why is their viewership way up? Where is the left/right dialogue on any other network? You sure don’t see it on MSLsD CNN has the house plant Larry King asking the probing questions. Hannity and Colmes are polar opposites of each other, except in my opinion, Hannity at least has a pulse. Palin did what she will do best, connect with the population, more men than women I would think. But, she connects none the less. Colmes deserved the smack down he got. As for BFrank, who is anything but Frank. Regardless of what people that don’t like BillO think, his show is highly watched because he has passion for what he believes in, and it can be damn funny. I believe strongly McCain and Palin had better pick up the pace use this debate as a tactic changer and get back in the game. Call Obama for being the socialist and Biden the whack job they are, and do it 24/7. Call out the media as they attack you turn it right back at them, and do it now. The media is hard after the Obama ticket winning. No quarter to be spared. You run elections too win, not to be nice.
Just watched Ann Coulter lay waste to poor Alan. He’s had a bad couple of days.
Canada should have a FOX News Canada channel…
Enetertaining ideos. Liberaleducator has yet to respond ,I wonder why? Is it possible that his Berkely study involved asking Berkely students how they felt as children, and to take the easy way out they believed that they were conservatives. C’mon now,how many kids considered themselves as conservative or liberal or any political affiliation when they were children? I doubt if the dweeb with the hockey stick even considered his political leanings when he was a child. He just knew that he was odd and bullied and prayed everyday that no one would wipe a peanut butter sandwich on his forehead.
Fact of the matter is, O’Reilly DID misrepresent what Frank said.
Frank’s original statement was that Fannie&Freddie was a bad investment. He said that ‘going forward’ things’should’ be better.
O’Reilly tries to make it look like Frank was encouraging people to invest. I don’t think someone saying it’s a ‘bad investment’ is much encouragement, do you?
But O’Reilly thinks by bellowing and talking over the other person he can hide the fact that his central point makes no sense, and is, in fact, a lie.
And he’s right! You goobers all eat it up!
Not that you guys really care whether it’s a lie or not, right? 😉
nice to see DanBC’s homophobia. What would a SDA thread be without racism or homophobia?
It’s interesting how you Righties so love thugs like o’Reilly and Limbaugh. You fancy yourselves conservatives and someof you even call yourselves “Christians”. But you like these guys who can’t abide by laws of basic decency or mature civil discourse.
That goes for Ann Coulter and her wanna-be disciples such as the webmistress here and K Shaidle. The more snide, rude and even racist they get, and you guys eat it up.
Honestly, it really makes one wonder whether your political views are a justification for a serious deep-eated emotional problem. What mature person would want to have their worldview represented by the ignorant, bellowing O’Reilly?
Posted by: real at October 3, 2008 7:35 PM
Real; Lets see if I got this right. DanBC’s homophobia remark is racist. Yet one of the men “Barney Frank” responsible for signing a 1 trillion dollar loan package is not being a racist. Did he not see this coming “with all his untold advisers”. Your view of the world must be very broad indeed.
I don’t think that I would be to happy about it, “bailing out the wall street market is only going to give short term gain for long term public debt” that is owned by foreigners.
Lets move onto the 3 women that you mentioned. I personally do not find them racist. I find their comments, analogy’s quite astute and viewpoints very reassuring in a world where thin skinned values are sought out on the “you hurt my one and only feeling” world.
US liberals consider Alan Colmes a lightweight at best.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., compared him to the losing team in a Harlem Globetrotters game, where Colmes’ “whole job is to lose every argument.”
O’Reilly’s mad as hell and he’s not gonna take it anymore. Millions of people lost their asses in the market crash. That’s not deserving of anything less than an iron glove treatment by those in the media that care.
The truth behind the horrendous harm caused by the market meltdown won’t just present itself for royal review at the appointed time. Somebody’s got to roll up their sleaves and drag it out from under the slimy rocks of denial and obsfucation. Since the passing of Barbara Frum, in my books nobody does it more deftly than O’Reilly. If that bruises the tail feathers of the social policy peace doves or the tender loins of the Wall Street trough pigs that share direct responsibility, then so be it.
O’Reilly’s much more dimensional in character and possesses way more heart than a “bully” could ever understand. God bless him for his stand. Too many other media mouthpieces are just trying to cover their eyes, ears and mouths until the disaster becomes history instead of news. Whatever people can say about O’Reilly’s faults, being a yellow-striped journalist isn’t one of them.
Just to clarify (in case anyone thought of it) ‘DanBC’ ain’t I (DaninVan)…
I can put my own foot in my mouth 😉
Frank and Co. are going to lead the “investigations” into how the financial system came to it’s troubles … lord help us. Without the likes of Mad-Bill, no truth would ever come out … and in the end it’d all land on the shoulders of Rove and Bush.
Frank made “forward looking” statements concerning Fanny and Freddy, which in his position are incredibly dangerous and possibly illegal. For investors, his words were clear … the stock had some down side left, but going forward would be solid. That is a buy or hold for long term investors. Recall, that at the same time, Goldman Sachs and others were saying the same thing in their evaluations of Fanny and Freddy. The charts show that about the time that Frank and others were making “positive forward statements”, Freddy went from $3.00 to close to $5.00 in August … hundreds of millions of dollars flowed into those shares as Frank and others tried to prop them up … and it worked. Then everybody was blindsided with the bailout and they lost their shirts.
Frank should be dragged out, stripped, and dropped in Waziristan.
liberaleducator: ” … favored CONSERVATIVE politics when they grew up.”
Are you saying that they favored liberals if they never grew up?
I’m sure Barney would proud of his man. There is nothing wrong, nor insulting about that statement.
Racist? Hilarious…I could dig deeper, but I will leave it alone, other than to say, that if the rainbow people are a new ‘race’, it’s news to everybody. It’s a sexual preference, a choice, nothing more. There’s a lot of things you could call Frank that would be truly insulting, such as another liberal crackpot politician, yet is still true.
Love the sinner, Hate the sin.
Good on O,rileed, that bottom feeder Barney Frank has been liberalling around for years, living off the public teat, stealing, lying, cheating, doing all the things every good liberal is proud to do every day. And Alan Colms is such a despicable man, and like every liberal they take on the looks of the animal they most act like, he looks like a salamander, and Fat Albert Gore resembles a rat. Suzuki, well he just looks like a .. I just can’t say it.

You have to stop selectively hearing only what you want to hear, now that you’ve swallowed the dem BS.
Play this clip and actually listen to what Barney Rubble says (around the 1:50 mark), then stop trying to spread the liberal/dem manure here.

From Wikipedia:
In 1998, he founded the National Stonewall Democrats, the national gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Democratic organization. In 2004 and again in 2006, a survey of Capitol Hill staffers published in Washingtonian gave Frank the title of the “brainiest”, “funniest”, and “most eloquent” member of the House.[9] As of May 2007, Frank is one of two openly gay members of Congress, the other being Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin.
But that’s not what makes him a bad person.

Well said Paul! Least we forget that the CEO of Enron was charged for the same Conduct. [Convincing Employees to buy Company Stock in their K401’s (converting IOU’s to cash) when they knew the street had lost confidence.]
O’Reilly was over the Top, but he was making a point. Frank is not a thief!
Real,
US politics are not as transparent as you seem to believe. Try counting the issues, in November, that McCain & Obama have agreement in principle, and the political fall out on those that they disagree. What they are NOT saying, also helps.
I am a Republican and this race has worked out for me regardless of who wins the WH.
A) California is bankrupt & begging for a bailout… The Congress in 09 will not be lead by the dead heads from California or Nevada
B) Gore has been left waiting for a Bus to obscurity.

I’m afraid that link is too complex for me to figure out.
‘Ever occur to you, le/ec, that “complex” might be another word for “screwed up”?
That thought did occur to me.
complex = confused
complex = unfocused
complex = scattered
‘Just another perspective for you to think about.
Other than the fact Hitler himself named his movement the National SOCIALIST party …
Only a Marxist would consider Hitler to be a right-winger, since he allowed a private enterprise economy instead of a command economy directed by the Central Committee.
It’s well worth googling Communist Manifesto to see how much further the US is along the path to slavery that is Canada.
When the FBI concludes its investigation and uncovers the level of corruption and follow the Fannie Mac money, people like Barney Frank will be luck to escape jail time.
At the very least, I’m expecting there will be many phony loans to non-existing properties, since nobody had to prove they had the ability to repay loans.
There has been much political interference in building the false American Dream of home ownership entitlement and the story, once it’s fully exposed, will make the perpetrators of Adscam look like amateurs.
I wonder how many members of The House were “short” Fanny and Freddie in August? I bet Frank made some “friends” richer … if not himself.
Dufus real said: “Frank’s original statement was that Fannie&Freddie was a bad investment. He said that ‘going forward’ things’should’ be better.”
Of course he did. He is going to pressure a forward view at all costs. Going “backward” means his ass will be in a very deep sling – he is up to his armpits in Freddie and its chairman. Going backward could mean he will face criminal charges, his involvement may be that deep.

To my fellow brothers in arms…Thanks for your service to your respective countries.
Barny Frank’s former “lover” was an exec for Fannie Mae…some questions about Frank’s objectiveness about the Fannie/Freddie issue. Also, there are clips dating back the last 5+ years where Frank and others (Maxine Waters is one) that state that Fannie/Freddie were in great shape and did not need oversight.
Frank had to have known what was going on…his inability to either speak up or try to take action is more than enough grounds for me and other Americans to ask for him to step down form his chairmanship position.
Question – Would you want Barney Frank to manage your checkbook? How about your local bank?

The local gay bar?
I watched a special on Fox news last night trying to track the financial downfall and it isn’t all Bush’s fault… not by looong shot. Think back in the 1930s and Rosevelt’s “New Deal”, in an attempt to get votes from the folks that would not normally qualify for a house. The Start up of Fannie May and then Freddie Mac with government backing. The bill signing and encouragement by Johnston’s, and Carter signing in things before he left. Clintin did similar. The present gang of mouthpieces love to point fingers at the bad boy republicans, fell on dear ears. Democrats skuttled any plan the republicans put forth to get some regulation.
That documentry on Fox News laid out how the mess got so bad and who had their fingers in the pie. Any doubters of my facts can simply go to Fox News for actual video of the idiots telling us it was all fine. Hot Air will help you follow the train and will the Library of Congress.

I cannot believe DICK MORRIS went after Alan Colmes like that. That was a frickin’ thing of beauty. What amazing video.
Watching O’Reily T off on Barney Frank, it was nice to see the Frankster get told off, but that’s theater. Dick Morris telling Colmes to stop reading the talking points and use his brain, that was the Real Thing. Awesome!
