CWB: Record $7 Billion Revenues

Rolf Penner;

“Umm, I hate to spoil the whole, “the yanks all sold early but look at what a good job we did of being disciplined and patting ourselves on the back” shtick that the board is spinning in their latest release here. But a buddy of mine just happened to put this chart together today with all of the Wheat Boards own numbers, their asking prices and the current PRO. For all intents and purposes farmers are getting pretty much what the boards asking price was at harvest. And the Board has the gall to claim the Americans sold too early. Unbelievable.”

  1. The CWB will have some pretty big bonus’s for themselves and their employees this Christmas!! Mr. Ritz, crack open those books! This is robbery and the CWB officials are criminals.
    Maybe the farmers that were chained up and locked up for selling their own wheat could give these crooks some advice for passing time in the jailhouse.

  2. Proposing a law Abolishing the HRC’s and the Canadian Wheat Board should be the first confidence motion for Harper when parliament reconvenes in the fall.
    Test the socialist lot on those two gems!

  3. Just a reminder that the CWB was brought into existence to control rising wheat prices following WW2. What that meant is they needed a way to guarantee cheap wheat for the rebuilding of Britain.
    Why there is any debate 60+ years later on whether the CWB is bad for farmers is beyond comprehension.
    It should have been gone 59 years ago.

  4. An even bigger screwup is the fact the CWB held back around 4.0 million tonnes of wheat that they should have sold when wheat was worth $15 to $20/bu back in the winter.
    Why even the mouthy Vader has apparently shut his mouth now that he realizes the billions of dollars the CWB has routinely lost for farmers with their crap ass marketing moves.
    It just defies belief that a govt organization which breaks both Cdn laws and world human rights laws still exists in todays world.
    The CWB dishonest business model is pure, unadulterated BS, piled high and wide.
    If they really were maximizing returns to the producers, then all they had to do to prove it last winter was put the 4 million tonnes up for PUBLIC AUCTION. Or even 3 mil MTs of it.
    And see how much the world, including central Canada, would pay for it.
    BTW, there is no charge for this advice, although there certainly should be.
    The new guy is off to a very unimpressive start.
