Transcript, CTV-REGINA , Tuesday Apr.8 – SFL UNDER FIRE BY THE PROVINCIAL GOV’T FOR AD TAKING AIM AT THE GOV’T
MANFRED JOEHNCK (Anchor): The Saskatchewan Federation of Labour is under fire by the provincial government.
This is what has the Province all worked up. It is an ad which takes aim at the government and its essential services legislation. The Province believes the ad is intolerant and is frightening especially to women. It refers to the gun sights and the two women within the borders.
The government says the ad is beyond poor taste.
KEN KRAWETZ (Deputy Premier): What I’m saying is that at a time when there was discussion about tolerance, that there was discussion about behaviour of individuals a long time ago and today an ad was printed that some people feel is frightening.
LARRY HUBICH (President, Saskatchewan Federation of Labour): The ad is in response to the government taking aim at workers’ legislation. It was designed by two women actually. So there is no gender issues with it at all. And the Premier I think has some credit in the development of the ad because it was he who said that this government was going to go to war with labour.
I scarcely know where to begin. Though I did call NDP MLA Cam Broten’s office to demand he stand up and denounce this hateful left-wing extremist in the Leg.

Wow! I can believe the web blog Larry keeps. This is not what you’d expect from someone who claims to represent all of labour! His web site is about as left wing and political as it gets. I’m sure there are many non NDP types that are members of SFL that would be quite offended by Larry’s blog.

Most union members have no idea they are indirect members of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour. They aren’t given a choice.

As much as this ad is idiotic, childish and just plain stupid, I think it’s a little over the top to claim that it promotes violence against women. Let’s leave the hysterical proclamations of being “offended” to those of the left-wing persuasion. They are so much better at it.
I forgot to add that Mr.Hubich has quite a history of idiocy, therefore, anything that he says or endorses should simply be dismissed as drivel.
When one becomes accustomed to having the government of the day firmly by the gonads, it must come as quite a shock to lose this privilege which might explain the lunatic behaviour.

Here we see Lefties ON THE ATTACK when the Sask party criticizes their add. An ad which is arguably more offensive than Mr. Likewski’s fag comment last week, given that the add visually contends Sask Party would like to shoot “workers” and has them in their sights.

Humboldt Journal April 9, 2008 reports today Larry , the loser , was in Humboldt April 5 at a meeting organized by the Humboldt and District Labour Council. “Hubich said to the CROWD of about 20 people” This is the third forum I’ve attended and I hoped to see a couple of Sask Party MLAs here to discuss the bill.”

Sounds to me like ( 2000 divided by 20) 0.01% of the union members in Saskatchewan are really ticked off about this legislation. Go Larry Go!!!!!!!!!
Just to be a little anal retentive, i feel i simply must correct the above math. While 20 divided by 2000 does equal 0.01, in percentage terms that equals 1%.

I belive the popular vote was 54% or better in the last election, so that make’s the people of the province in charge not the union. so it’s not the goverment going to war with labour. It’s the union going to war with the people of sask. go for it, with this arragont fool who think’s he run’s the province like when the ndp was in charge. your support will be nil.
Quite clear who the “target” audience is. Scope was centered on the heart, not the brain. Demeaning of women, is what I see.
Well…they could just move the cross-hairs over a little so that the gun was aimed at one of the men. (we’re the “more shootable” of the two sexes apparently). Or, we could just take a deep breath and stop making a mountain out of a molehill like the damned lefties always do. On that little conservative video, there is more harmful hate towards women, than this ad. But Kate doesn’t complain about that, because that would make conservatives look bad.
