  1. 80% of Canadians aren’t engaged in politics? Yet the CBC, CTV, and Red Star ram the Librano creed down their neck holes every day and every night?
What’s the problem? Are they finding out that their opiate is not being accepted? After all, “rejection” can look a lot like “disengagement”.

  2. Problem is their usual cruft isn’t selling.
While this isn’t a problem for the taxpayer funded CBC, the Toronto (Red) Star and the Blob & Snail are both taking a huge kicking in the bottom-line area.
Now, a radical fruitcake like myself might suggest that if you’re doing something and its not working, maybe you should stop doing that.
The big brains at the major MSM outlest know better than The Phantom though. They know if something isn’t working, you do it MORE.

  3. Maybe she means reach out to people who are more concerned with racial identity politics, and imagined assaults on people of colour. Perhaps the liberals could start saying that Stephen Harper is deliberately infecting east asian Canadians with the flu virus.

  4. Susan Delacourt: “The trick for gaining support is to reach out to the whopping 80 per cent or so of Canadians who aren’t engaged with politics.”
The Liberals may be right. Since they have a leader who can’t comprehend or articulate sensible public policies, they may be well advised to emulate the Obama-Oprah ticket and simply emote. They love to jabber mindlessly about “hidden agendas,” “coldhearted conservatives,” etc., and the MSM show no inclination to critically analyse Liberal pronouncements.
Certainly making image the issue worked with Trudeau. Look how the MSM fawned over the hebephrenic little traitor in 1968 (and thereafter): endless stories about that detestable catamite as a sex symbol, a youthful, “swinging bachelor” with a fresh, new approach to government. That he was 49 years old with nothing to recommend him for the job of prime minister was never mentioned.
Now the Liberals have a similarly clueless and unaccomplished leader. How else can they market him but by copying Obama’s appeal to emotion and image?

  5. Phantom,
It’s the old socialist/communist/”liberal” one trick pony:
If some pie in sky social engineering thing doesn’t work, try MORE and HARDER, until you are executing people for being middle class refuseniks.

  8. But I thought that’s why we have representative democracy. I elect someone to represent me in government and I leave it up to them to do the best they can. However I get to laugh at their sandbox antics.
