Spitzer and the media: How it might have been.
(As an aside, I’ve been listening to a certain 650CKOM newscaster for two days on this story, and am still waiting to hear the word “Democratic”.)
Surely, this cannot be the work of one, lone idiot.

In most cases, Chinese factories — where many companies have turned to keep prices low — are the source.
Re Chris Tyndal,Green Party and his ‘discussion’ with Bob Rae:
Once again totally ignored by the MSM, and Rae is Foreign affairs Critic!? Guess he thought that meant keeping up with all ‘fooling around’ by the foreign heads of state.
Which is more important for our politicians to know…the direction of Niagra Falls River, or the fact that Canadians are in Irag?

Duceppe agrees to apologize for linking Dion to sponsorships

Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe will publicly apologize to Stephane Dion as part of an out-of-court settlement over a $400,000 lawsuit after the Bloc published a pamphlet in 2005 linking the Liberal leader to the sponsorship scandal.
Duceppe has agreed to apologize for the offending pamphlet, which was distributed to thousands of homes in 22 ridings in Quebec just before the launch of the 2006 winter election.
The pamphlet, titled “La route de l’argent” (the money trail), showed arrows pointing to Dion and other Liberal politicians. In papers served on Duceppe, Dion pointed out that the Gomery commission absolved him of any links to the scandal and the pamphlet libeled him by suggesting that he benefited financially.
A spokesperson for Duceppe’s office confirmed that he will sign an apology in a similar pamphlet to be distributed in the same 22 ridings in June.
In a scrum with reporters yesterday, Duceppe was reluctant to talk about the matter.
“Well, it’s a confidential settlement and I had said at the time that there was no way that we had said (in the pamphlet) that he had done anything wrong. So we will say it again in our next parliamentary pamphlet, which you can all read,” he said curtly.
At the time the pamphlet was distributed, it was Liberal MP Denis Coderre, also pictured with Dion and Liberal cabinet minister Lucienne Robillard, who told reporters that he might sue the Bloc.
Dion had been adamant about pursuing the lawsuit in order to defend his reputation and protect himself from future unfounded attacks from his political opponents.
During his successful run for the Grit leadership, Dion presented himself as a Martin cabinet minister who had remained untainted by the scandal.
The Bloc had maintained in court documents that the pamphlet was legitimate political comment allowed as part of free speech.
It is not known if monetary damages were part of the settlement.

Regarding the Gomery and Spitzer files being alive at the same time, there is a question I have.
Spitzer apparently tried to hide suspious hooker munny transactions by keeping them under $10000.
Canada has the same rules where banks are required to check and/or report money tranfers of $10,000 or more.
So does anybody want to guess why this was apparently not done with the $350 million of Adscam munny that was doled out the PMs office to frendly Quebecers?
I mean, there is still over $60 million unaccounted for.
And surely these Crooked Liberal party criminals were not trying to do transfers with $60 million in $100 or $1000 stuffed brown bags.
Even at $10,000 a pop, that would still be 6000 individual munny transfers for $60 million.
Or doesn’t the Quebec branches of big Canadian banks follow Canadian banking rules when it is inconvenient to do so?
Is there collusion involved between banks and the Liberals?
Have the RCMP checked into this this munny trail?
And where is the Commons Ethics Committee when you really need them?
