  1. “This is unfair! Do you think it’s easy to name an accomplishment?”
I ask my 74 yr old father the same question about Obama ’cause he is glued to CNN these days and he says “I love what he says in his speaches”…
    …He could’nt name any.
Caution: Getting older does not necessarely translate to getting wiser

  2. Barack Obama has accomplished three things that are the most obvious and is his biggest assets.
    He was born a Negro.
    He learned to be articulate.
He has mastered the art of Leftist bullshit.
    Vote McCain
Even though he white, (a distinct disadvantage in our PC multi culti world) he has a track record, has paid his dues and is a bonafide American war hero. He may just have an idea about what he is doing, and how to do it.

  3. Forgive my language, but the most telling thing on that clip was not Obama’s lack of qualifications, but that Keith Olbermann continued his run as TV’s biggest douchebag.
Which, as you know, is QUITE the accomplishment.

  4. As someone who is pulling for McCain I hope this democratic race lasts as long as possible. As Hillary becomes more desperate, the attacks are only going to get more visceral.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hillary make a comeback in Texas and Ohio.

  5. Wasnt Matthews being accused of being anti Hillary?
Is he being an equal opportunity thrasher or has he been brought to heel by Billary?

  6. Obama succeeds where Hlllary fades (she should not have had sexual relations with that man).
Obama will win the Dems nomination coz Bill wouldn’t keep it in his pants, lied about it, and embarassed the office of president. Hillary should have left him at home.
Politics in Canada is just boring.

  7. Enjoy it kids, because as soon as the Obama/Hillary duel to the death is decided, you’re never going to see this again. Its going to be Dems are good, Republicans are bad, wall to wall, until November.
Of course if McCain wins November it’ll be wall to wall for 4 more years. Well, unless these schmucks go stoney broke in the mean time.

  8. We’ve known it for some time now that Obama is an incredibly week candidate, but what I find surprising is how they have managed to find someone this time around who is an even weaker presidential candidate than John Kerry was. They’ve fallen for it yet again! Suckers.

  9. “Keith Olbermann continued his run as TV’s biggest douchebag.”
I beg to differ. Douchebags are useful and, uh, improve the situation. Olberman makes everything worse.

  10. ‘Hope’ means increased redistribution programs to society’s ‘victims’ financed by its oppressors.
    Is Obama a utopian? Sure.
Will he be able to cure society’s ills? Not a chance.
Obama is acknowledge as the furtherst left of any congressman in the US.
Obamamania is appealing in much the same way Trudeaumania was appealing 40 years ago in Canada.
I fear the eventual result will be somewhat similar.

  11. You Obama haters are RACIST!!!!!! Of course he has accomplishments. He has been the biggest supporter of hope and change. What hope? Why the hope that causes change!!! And what change does he speak of? the change that gives hope of course.
You can’t name just one thing he has done since his mere presence in the Senate alone has given the Senate new hope and change that has caused revolutionary changing hope! He has caused a complete 360 degree change in the Senate. Without him the sun might not rise and seeds might not grow. By not supporting Obama you are a racist with no hope, or change.

  12. The previous message was a free announcement from “Scientoligist’s for Obama in “08”

  13. *
all you need, apparently, is love…
“Posted: 01:16 PM ET WASHINGTON (CNN) — The Teamsters union plans to endorse
    Democratic candidate Barack Obama
on Wednesday, two sources told CNN.”

  14. This clip confirms what is becoming clearly apparent: Obama supporters are blind followers, and Obamania is a cult.
But does the cult leader have what it takes to run the country?
One could almost start to feel sorry for Clinton….then again no.

  15. Carville said it best at a home builders convention a couple of weeks ago “For both you Democrats out there, I got good news for you. We have to literally talk our way out of winning this election. For the Republicans, being a lifelong member of the Democratic party, I can assure you we are perfectly capable of doing that.”

  16. Hugh Hewitt is doing something similar on his radio show these days, asking Obama supporters to call in and tell him why they like him.
Lots of platitudes and “we need a black president” but faced with a few basic policy questions from Hewitt, they all crumble.
In fact it is scary how _dumb_ they all seem to be.

  17. grirod a grit- i’m an old guy. and yes we do not get wiser, just more pissed off. stephen, not only hope, but change. sch- tul, must be liberals.

  18. It’s like my lefty friend, who in the face of the evidence that the UN is a cabal of thug states, still says, “I like the IDEA of the UN and nothing you say will change my mind.”
    OK. (I think we’re still friends . . .)

  19. In comparing “Obamamania” with the earlier “Trudeaumania” one must wonder what destruction will be wreaked upon our neighbors to the south if it comes to fruition.

  20. Roger that. Different clip than I saw earlier in the day of the same segment.
It only had the Matthews moron in it.

  21. How long can it be before a “Leave Obama Alone” video is made and posted on Youtube?

  22. Oh wait! I’ve got an Obama accomplishment!!!
He’s got his skeletons locked up in the closet so tight that even Hillary Clinton and the Big Bubba Machine hasn’t been able to dig one out yet.
    Talk about Teflon, eh?

  23. You Barackstabbers are all the same!
Why, it’s obvious to anyone watching that Obama offers hope ….. and change ….. and a movement. Hope for a movement.
America is now the world’s only superpower … but that was because of the failed policies of yesterday. Obama offers hope and a new direction for America.
America has the largest GDP in the world … but that was as a result of the failed policies of yesterday. Tomorrow will see hope for change and a movement away from yesterday.
America leads the world in scientific discoveries and new research and technological change …. all because of the failed policies of yesterday. America has been standing on the shoulders of giants when all along it is Obama’s shoulders they should have been standing on. Shoulders of hope. Shoulders of change. A movement of shoulders.
America has been a force against tyrrany throughout the world. Over the past two centuries millions of immigrants have proudly arrived at its shores keen to make a new life in a new country. These are the failed policies of yesterday. A movement of change is bringing a fresher tomorrow and hope for a tomorrow that will be … changed.

  24. How long can it be before a “Leave Obama Alone” video is made and posted on Youtube?

  25. Only thing the clip proves is that US senators are as
    mind-bogglingly stupid as Canadian ones.

  26. MSNBC HArdbile … Mathews and Oberman … all liberal all the time!
How did they ever find the stomach to criticize ANY Democrat??
Did that Woman ACTUALLY say that Hillary Clinton has legislative accomplishments “all across THE WORLD” ….??
    How stupid are these democrats?
    Never Mind…………………..:/

  27. The Democratic party is on the verge of doing what it has done twice before in the last 36 years – nominate someone from the arch-left side of the party. The other two – George McGovern and Jimmy Carter were complete wack-jobs – entirely apart from the moderate establishment part of the party. They won their nomination because the moderates failed to put forward a desirable-enough candidate and the incoherent loons on the far-side of the party coalesced around one person. (Howard Dean almost did it in ’04 but blew it when he had the memorable fanatic meltdown).
For Nixon – McGovern’s opponent – it was a simple matter of pointing to the insanity of George’s platform – surrender in Vietnam, etc. and a gigantic majority was his. Jimmy Carter didn’t so much defeat his opponent Gerald Ford as the Gerald Ford did himslef in by not distancing himself enough from the illegal conduct of RMN by pardoning him. The result was Jimmy Carter becoming arguably the worst president of the 20th century and perhaps of all time.
All that needs to happen from here to November is for interviewers like Mr. Matthews to ask direct empirical questions about Obama’s past activities and his promises (or lack thereof) AND to point to BO’s voting record.
In the polarized politic that is America today the result will likely be a ‘landslide’ of 55% for JM.

  28. I think my favorite line by a commentator in the camapign so far was when he commented on Hillary’s claim to experience” as including the fact that she spent 8 years in the White House. His response, “So did the pastry chef…”

  29. “Obama offers hope ….. and change”
Glad I’m not voting in this one. I like hope, but i can’t stand change. Can we hope it will stay the same, but still fulfill the briliant promises of yesterday’s tomorrow, with a soupcon of a glittery future?
I suppose some would call that a fairy tale.

  30. As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he co-sponsored bipartisan legislation for controlling conventional weapons and for promoting greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In the current 110th Congress, he has sponsored legislation on lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel.

  31. Stephen:
Just like JFK, Obama has scrambled to get his name on various bits of inconsequential legislation and other activities in order to pad his CV but not offend anyone – conventional weapons controls that no-one will pay heed to, fanciful trips to ‘important’ parts of the globe, etc..
None of the things he got involved in were controversial. Disagree though I might with McCain on campaign finance reform and immigration, he at least worked on getting legislation passed on those thorny issues.
    BO talks constantly about change.
I want to hear what has to say about courage. Does he have the courage to make hugely unpopular decisions for the long-term benefit of Americans? Does he have the courage to confront not just America’s clear enemies but also take to task our percieved allies when conditions merit and go it alone if America’s national security is at stake? Nothing, repeat nothing, in his legislative record demonstrates that BO has that kind of courage. It almost goes without saying that John McCain does have that kind of courage. In spades.
A guest on Hugh Hewitt yesterday observed that BO is sticking to platitudes because the moment he starts to explain precisely how he’s going to deal with things like social security, immigration, etc. he loses over fifty percent of the voters. So much for bi-partisan politics…

  32. Obama is trading at 81.4 at intrade; he was at 20 as recently as Jan. 1. Dems are at 65 to win in November.

  33. This is Bob Parks …. on :
Michelle Obama and the Pied Piper campaign her husband is prancing in front of.
Bob used to Blog as ‘Black and Right’ and now comments on ‘Outside The Wire’….
Black conservatives have a much lower tolerance for LIberal BS than most of us do …. possibly because it took a snootfull to move them out of the fold.
    Bob Parks Pulls NO punches!

  34. dfsdfsaf:
    Your post proves two things:
    1. That BO’s support and the dems chances are currently on the rise or at high levels.
    2. And that judging by how low he once was not so long ago (and how high HC once was) that such levels of support are highly volatile and basically irrelevant in trying to predict the result in Nov.
(Just ask the readers/posters on this blog about the reliability of the futures price of Hard Red Spring Wheat today has in predicting the November delivery price paid at the farmgate.)

  35. For those of you that don’t think a black candidate could ever win the Presidency, I suggest you read “The Dark Horse” by Fletcher Knebel c.1962. Fiction of course, but very very enlightening.

  36. I’d Love to see a black gentleman win the Presidency.
As soon as they find one at or slightly to the right of Lieberman.

  37. “He inspires…”
Yes, he does. But not the American people we want him to inspire.
Come election time, watch for “Jihad Riders” to fan out on Greyhound buses, decked out in their louse-ridden beards and standard Pakistani 6-layer suicide vests. They’ll bring Barack Hussein “Osama” Obama’s message of surrender and self-loathing to every corner of the U.S.A. They’ll stop in Babb, Montana, Des Moines, Iowa, and San Diego, California, to instruct the locals on their obligations under shari’a. And, if we’re lucky, they’ll be working for the RNC, not “Osama” himself.

  38. I had friends over on Sunday night. They are staunch Hillary supporters(whatever good that will do them). My dear friend lost her brother to tainted blood that was allowed into Canada via Bill Clinton and our illustrious Lieberals. She thinks the sun rises and sets on Billy boy and I do not have the heart to even try to enlighten her as it would end our friendship and break her heart. I find it very, very frustrating to try to show these people the light. Their minds are made up and no one or even the truth is going to change them. They are certain that Bill is a huge asset to Hillary. As to Obama ,beware charismatic people with no substance.

  39. Inspiration and ideas = I have some ideas also; maybe I could be a US president? Opps, I suppose my ideas lack some affirmative action.
If you are determined to vote your way into heaven and a black candidate is a must have save your soul check mark on your wish list, why not have a black candidate with some proven credentials? Colin Powell comes to mind, why not? At least he does have some accomplishments, otherwise who in there right mind would vote either of the democrats 1970 Coke commercial hippy choice award nominees. USA vote Ron Paul and give your self a caring leader who may just have the skills to keep America from further decline!

  40. They’re voting for change and all Obama needs to do is keep up that chant with a few platitudes tossed in.
If it works in the end it sure doesn’t look good for the mental capacity of the American voters.

  41. Charles MacDonald at 5:56.
They’ll stop in Babb, Montana, Des Moines, Iowa, and San Diego, California, to instruct the locals on their obligations under shari’a.
As a sometime visitor to Babb, Montana I can assure everyone that the residents are in no danger of capitulating to sharia. Those good ol’ boys would cause the Islamists to flee with a mere calculating icy stare and a jet of tobacco-phlegm aimed in their adversaries general direction.
