‘Lest we Forget’, we cannot let a man like this die in vain. This brave young man fought like a Spartan but he died fighting for the ideals of an Athenian. Truly the best of all possible worlds, IMO.
War is not for the feint of heart or the wobbly of knee, as 1st Lt Manion has illustrated; it cannot be fought from a stool in an environmentally friendly office. War is dangerous and cruel but slattern slavery is much worse..choose your side people of the free world. If we choose the road of the insidious ‘panderers for a defeated peace’ we will betray all 1st Lt Manion fought and died for – an onerous decision.
God rest his soul.
My wife and I watched 300 last night. No greater honour indeed than to die as free men for one’s country, fighting the forces of tyranny.
I’m sure many of these type of pro-Iraqi stories have gone unreported…
