Lorne Calvert, that’s who.
Meet “Lambchop”!

(click for image of brochure)
He escaped from the NDP campaign war room today. My source emails;
We understand they are putting up billboards like this as well. The billboards were supposed to be a teaser campaign. That is, they were just putting up the picture of the wolf for a couple of weeks with no caption. Then they were going to add some sort of caption about the SaskParty.
… and I thought it was Calvert who just had his teeth filed.

Your tax dollars at work?

When your political opponents adopt the symbol of your fear campaign for their official mascot, you’ve probably blown it.
Photoshoppers will have some fun with this one.
Saskatchewan: where the politicians are socialist and the sheep are nervous.
Just Thinkin, your post way up top, 2:00 pm, hit my funny bone. Can’t you just see the billboard of the evolution of man from prehistoric to modern and standing beside prehistoric man Jack Layton up to the modern day chimpanzee?
I think that “SheepDog” is kind of cute, where do I get one?
Everyone knows Sheepdogs protect people.
Leftdog,
The confidential RPS files were in the hands of the NDP. Can you explain why confidential police files of an on-going investigation were given to the NDP? Entire files are never turned over to the complainant.
Could it be because a former RPS police chief ran for an NDP nomination in 1995?
It appears like there has been collsion between the RPS senior brass and the NDP, including the latest incident with Cal Johnson and the Sask Party candidate discipline matter.
And why was a $6000 theft in the NDP caucaus office covered up by the NDP in 1993 when some Conservatives were doing the perp walk? Could it be that people would equate all politicians as the same.
You only refer to thefts by the Conservatives, but conveniently forget the NDP thefts and subsquent cover-ups.
I hear the NDP paper shredders now. When the Saskies get in, I sure hope they are able to find enough information for a massive karma payback.
I saw the sheep (alone, without text) on the side of a Regina city bus just a few minutes ago.

Tim Williams
Executive Assistant to the Chief of Communications to the Premier
Job description —- putting up political billboards ?? With tax money ??
Leftists are still using the “hidden agenda” talking point? I guess they all fail to see how well that exact ploy worked the last two federal elections.
Whatever. I suspect Saskatchewan’s just gonna vote socialist again anyway…
Are you telling me that with all the issues before the Province of Sask. that this ad is the best election platform the Naturally Dumb Party can come up with??? I guess they are naturally dumb after all….But what does that say about the people that vote for them????
Please someone tell me that these garbage, bush league tactics will not work again. PLEASE!
Couple of things to remember:
– this NDP gov’t has been in for over 16 years, time to give up the Grant Devine bashing
– much of the economic growth in this province is IN SPITE of the gov’t and their crap attitude towards business (see the job killing monster)
– can you say tired and old? why do you think most NDP ministers have left for grener pastures? they are dead in the water, at least they think so.
– The NDP has a chance as long as they cling to Tommy DOuglas, scare tactics, and visiting old folk’s homes to scare the crap out of them telling them the sask party is the devil.
Oh, and the unions, damn unions
New NDP campaign slogan – “Better government through total fabrication”. The only thing sadder than the childish stunts of the NDP, such as the mediscare crap, is that people still believe them.
The interesting thing is that once the Dippers fleece regular taxpayers and run all entrepreneurs out of business; people finally fed up elect a less left government ; well, low and behold – the old Dippers who have enriched themselves though insider trading and confidential information become CAPITALISTS!
They don’t hang around the old brown tatters of the red flag of union demands and wages with the ‘old Bolsheviks’ Nope not those slimes , the former breakers of decent taxpayers become the boss and capitalists from hell. They buy the bankrupt farms and businesses after having harassed the original owners into bankruptcy and they set themselves up as the ‘new Jim Brady’s’ (without the dash or the sense of decency).
The reformed Bolshevik is like a reformed ‘soiled woman’; they desperately try to hide their past as regular ‘workers’ by treating workers in their own enterprises like pieces of garbage.
It happened in the Yukon – it can happen in Sask.
Sad fact – the left leaner hates people, hates accomplishment, hates quality – they are greedy, lazy low life who USE people who blindly follow the propaganda the Bolsheviks shovel. Look to Soviet Russia for proof of my assertions.
The NDP can scare little old ladies with stories of TILMA and diverting Canadian Water to the USA. They try to scare regular folks with ‘big bad capitalism will take over everything’ stories. The NDP thinks the best environmental plicy is to leave oil in the ground. The NDP thinks that it is better to leave Uranium in the ground and let the rest of the world develop nuclear resources (and income and jobs). Let not forget topping up pensions of boob fondling criminals while victems get *ucked one more time splitting a paltry compensation. Oh don’t get me started. I can’t wait for the election. It might be rather fun to devote a few months of my life doing nothing but showing up at every NDP whistle stop and asking some VERY DAMNING questions in person. I could care less who gets in, as long as it is not the same old corrupt leftist commie pinko bastards as we’ve had for the past 20 years. These NDP buggers HAVE GOT TO GO! (where’s that paper bag?)
kick them Dippers out NOW!!!
That dog don’t hunt!!
I can’t wait till tommrow when John Gormley talks about this. when he does I am calling into the show
Couldn’t they have found a scarier looking wolf? It looks like a big lovable puppy in an outfit! That wolf has no teeth!
Crude photoshopping too….
Oh huff … John will tell you NOT to count the NDP out just yet … not just yet … Brad Wall will NOT be elected Premier of Saskatchewan. He has already flip flopped on the Crowns, on Tilma, etc etc etc.
The Saskies are so extreme in their right wing rhetoric (wink wink to the Greek) that the non-NDP vote is going to split and a fair chunk will go Liberal. Not enough for the Libs to win seats, but enough for the NDP to hold Urban Saskatchewan … and you folks can all go back to whatever it is that right wing extremists do when they are not happy!
Cheers!
Ever heard the term “Dog in a Manger”??
Dippers are grammatically challenged as well, to wit:
“The last conservative government in Saskatchewan recklessly sold off Saskatchewan’s assets and nearly bankrupt (sic) the province.”
At least if they are going to spread lies like this, they should have the courtesy of making their lies grammatically correct. Or else the population will see them for what they truly are, a bunch of spoiled, immature crybabies that are afraid of the big cutie wolf.
“Brad Wall’s team of candidates has little to no experience in government, managing large organizations or large budgets.”
Most of us would consider that to be an asset.
Leftdog you are a desperate NDPer. Thats all I can say.
They are crying ‘wolf’ again.
A count of the ridings will show that leftdog is totally full of it. The Sask Party will get more seats in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Moose Jaw and Meadow Lake among others. The NDP won’t even sweep Regina with Bill Hutchinson in Regina South. Tim Williams is going to be looking for work along with his overlords!! GOOD RIDDANCE to bad rubbish!
leftdog has been drinking that potato wine again, that the NDP has, much the same as the Jonestown Kool Aid………
Funny……
Lenin had name for lemmings that willfully and blindly followed the leftist doctrine….they were called “Usefull Idiots”
That’s some “hidden” agenda.
There’s a brochure and everything.
The best part is the ‘economic union with Alberta’
Yeah, being aligned with the hottest economy on the continent has gotta suck for those Saskatchewan families.
Well Leftdog, the Saskies and their supporters aren’t taking anything for granted. They’re working like they are 10 points behind.
This will be a war fought in the trenches by a very well oiled SK Party machine.
We learned from last time. And the voters won’t let the speculation of a hidden agenda hinder them from voting against the party that proved they were the ones with the actual hidden agenda during the last election (see the PST hike one month after the electon that Van Mulligan said they didn’t mention because it would not have been popular).
And the voters of SK wil be reminded constantly about that stunt, Murdoche Carriere, Jim Fodey, Baby Paige etc.
Calvert is going to eat this little “pet” campaign of his.
Heh SAM THE SHEEPDOG and RALPH THE WOLF sam guards the sheep ralph tries to eat them and sam always ends up beating ralph up
hey ‘the Greek’ – your radical views and extreme opinions do more to drive non-NDP votes to the Liberal party then it brings to the Saskatchewan Party. David Karwaki should take you out for drinks and supper! Keep up the extreme rhetoric! You make our case for us!
There are also a lot of Liberals who are terrified of hard right wing rhetoric and that is all you spout! It won’t be that difficult to convince them to vote NDP to STOP Brad Wall AND THE GREEK!!!!
I am interested to see how this Tim Williams character, the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Communications to the Premier, gets away with doing party business from a government position.
That can’t be legal…except in one party states like Cuba…
Your party the SakaTory party are wolves in cheap clothing. I was at the legislature recently and saw the makeover a lot of Sask/Tory mlas have gotten. Someone must’ve told them they looked too dishevelled. You are like an elephant dancing in a flock of chickens which is fine if you’re the elephant. Not too good for the chickens. The Tories are the elephant the people are the chickens. It’ll take more than a makeover.
The NDP balanced one budget in 13 without increasing the debt yet claim to have balancced them all.
The debt has tripled since 1990 but then they don’t count the crown debts like Sask Powers 2 billion.
With the huge spending in the last month I bet this last budget isn’t close to what was budgeted.
And with the arrival of “ok” the gangs all here! I guess leftdog was threatening to charge overtime for spewing the same drivel over multiple blogs.
Folks, it is clear that the NDP strategy is to keep saying extreme, right wing and Grant Devine until 5 minutes after the polls close. Why they even use caps for variety. This garbage is right of the NDP web site.
I would hope that the next election (this fall if Lorne has the stones) will be about ideas and facts but the NDP are all about unsupportable claims, fear and innuendo. It is sad. However, I will give Wall credit for not leaving this unchallenged.
I am surprised at how early the NDP have started this. One would think that this would be served up much closer to an election. . .maybe we are closer than we think.
What’s the deal about “economic union with Alberta”? Is there a plan to tie the Sask. dollar to the Alberta dollar? Are they talking about eliminating tarrifs on Alberta imports? Is there a SAFTA in the future?
“vote NDP to STOP Brad Wall AND THE GREEK!!!!”
Yes, I am to be feared!
Hilarious…
aww, Kate the Sask Party pawn is again using Brad Wall’s own words to post on her blog! how cute, just like “lambchop” (Brad’s name).
Stop being such a hack for the party and start critiquing the Sask Party for their insepid lack of vision on anything. Come on, they won’t sell SecureTek or Max?
Why not? What about private liquor stores? What about outsourced hospital delivery – or are they trying to shore up support in their small communities to keep the jobs there inefficiently?
Where is the SDA actual criticism of anything of late?
jason:
What you don’t understand is that, except for the few that were hired by SaskTel, the IT specialists (me included) in Saskatchewan hate SaskTel. It (SaskTel) is another crown corp that has moved in to private industry territory. Selling SaskTel, in my opinion, would be one of the best things to ever happen to Saskatchewan.
so Postscript, WHY are you not asking the political parties to commit to doing such?
why are you taking for granted that the SaskParty would share your ideology and beliefs – they won’t sell it, they won’t trim it, they won’t gut it.
does that satisfy you, seriously, as a policy position of a conservative party?
seriously?
Sask health care.

Liz said: “WLMR: Are you aware of the latest Ipsos-Reid poll putting Mental Midget McGuinty into majority territory, thanks to idiots in the 905 area of southern Ontario.
It proves they’re brain dead”
Yep and if they put that thieving turdball back in, I will be liquidating my realty assets and investment there and moving the whole works back to Alberta.
jason:
Quite honestly, I vote SaskParty because it is, by far, the most business friendly choice in the province that is not NDP or Liberal. I agree with much of their business ideology.
There’s a reason why the NDP is always trailing nationally, because they have no freaking idea how to manage government or prosper their dominion. Liberal is just another NDP party, but with less moral compass or convictions.
…was that picture Photoshopped?
Well lots of mud slinging here today. But that’s part of the problem, for both NDP and SaskParty here, isn’t it? I am sick to the neck of the NDP and have supported the SP in the past — but I’m getting quite tired of hearing them talk about “the tired old out of gas NDP government” –and little else.
Where’s the substance? Where’s the alternative plan? Obviously they need a compelling reason for the jerks in SK to vote the NDP out — what is it?
And make no mistake about it — the people playing behind the scenes, the SP campaign managers, the advisors, the strategists — not only are they the same people who helped Hermanson LOSE the last election — many of them are indeed the same people who puppeteered Devine. Scratch a SaskParty supporter — and find a Devine strategist.
And women didn’t like Hermanson, that’s the truth. And the SP knew that going into the election — no resonance with women or city dwellers. I think they’ll do better with Wall.
And I must say — diffusing the campaign before it launched was brilliant on Wall’s part. Absolutely the best move ever.
Do you remember Hermanson weeping on camera when the cartoon of him came out early last time?
If the SaskParty are the wolves in sheep’s clothing then I gather that they are saying that the people of Saskatchewan are the sheep. Maybe The SaskParty should produce a picture of the NDP as the shepherds and the caption “Do the Saskatchewan taxpayers want to be fleeced one more time?”
People in Saskatchewan have been voting NDP into power, so they deserve what they get and that is sweet bugger all – almost the entire province looks like an old abandoned mining town. Alberta looks like prosperity and Saskatchewan looks like poverty. Perhaps Ralph Klein should run Saskatchewan until the province gets on its feet; mind you then Albertans wouldn’t have any cheap real estate to scoop up any longer. On second thought, let’s just keep Saskatchewan poverty-stricken until Albertans have bought the place up.
Good one LynnH.
Joanne,
Have you ever been to Saskatchewan? There’s knowledge beyond the realm of your computer monitor that you should try to explore sometime.
This is the problem in a province where the government is the biggest employer and a large portion of our population is aging. As a group, we are easy to scare, and this makes an easy target for a socialist regime. “Sheeple” is an accurate term. One on one, we are highly intelligent, en masse, not so bright. It reminds me of Germany during WW2. Germans, nice people individually, but get’em in a group and they invade poland. Keep the faith Saskatchewan!
A. Cooper – I’ve been to Saskatchewan too many times to count and for decades – married a farm boy turned miner. I was just being facetious with my comments about Alberta buying up Saskatchewan, but believe you me, Albertans are turning east instead of west because of the low prices of real estate in Saskatchewan. If the NDP do not get into power next time in Saskatchewan, I would buy some property quick before prices sky-rocket.
And A. Cooper, just because your world evolves around the computer screen does not mean mine does – see, you are not the only one who can make crap up. Your comments should reflect what you know, not what you think you know.
Out of respect for our host, I have no desire to turn this into a flame war. I’ll only say that when you demean something which you obviously know nothing about, you only expose your own ignorance.
BTW-you’ve already missed the boat. Property values have already exploded.
