The Teamsters intimidate? Hard to believe. (Update - here's another link).

Sean's been digging through his photos again.

Burqa courage;

It's a delicious practice, isn't it? These vile misanthropes who delight in having women stoned or hanged or flogged, sneaking around in drag rather than facing their Maker. Or the Marines, for that matter, who are firmly committed to arranging the meeting.

I hate it when my stuff ends up in other peoples' columns.

What could it mean?

It was working earlier today. That's hilarious.

Those Teamsters get around.

This is powerful ammunition for the anti-war pacifists, the socialists, etc.
What is to be done? Is anything to be done?

"Everywhere I go I see, 'support the troops, support the troops.' It is a farce," said Authorson's nephew, Peter Mountney of Bancroft.

Families call 'Support our Troops' ribbons a farce

The bitterness of poverty and shame, of 60 years of fighting, cut even sharper yesterday for families of Canada's disabled world war veterans.

Burqa cowardice more likely. Another example why we should ban burqas from our country. We have no way of knowing what is under that big black tent. They may be suppressed/abused women, they shunning all around them and they could be terrorists in disguise.

The burqa is a symbol of repression at best and a tool of terrorism at worst. It has no place in our Western Democracies.

Where do we sign up for movement to ban the burqa?

French minister in Sarkozy's government : Bush did 9/11 !

A minister of "social housing" of Sarkozy's government since May 18, 2007, French right-wing woman Christine Boutin is in the middle of a scandal after bloggers found an interview of her, dated November 2006, where she supports the conspiracy theorists calling 9/11 "an inside job".

Here is the transcript :

Young French idiot - "I wish to talk about the Bush government and its threat for democracy. Do you think Bush could be behind the 9/11 ?"

Minister Christine Boutin - "I think it is possible. I think it is possible and I know that the website which run these stories have more and more visitors. As a person deeply concerned by the new technologies of communication, I think that this expression of people cannot exist without a part of truth. I don't say I agree with what is saying, but I'm wondering [wether 9/11 is an inside job]." ...-

News Ages Quickly - Scientific publishing moves into the 21st century at last

Arguably, the Information Age began in 1665. That was the year the Journal des scavans and Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London started regular publication. Making new scientific information more easily and widely available was the spark that ignited the Industrial Revolution. The founding editor of the Journal des scavans, Denis de Sallo, chose to publish his new journal weekly because, as he explained, "news ages quickly." Scientific news ages even more quickly in the 21st century than it did in the 17th century.

Last week, one of the world's leading scientific journals, Nature, conceded this fact by launching Nature Precedings. Nature Precedings aims to be an online "place for researchers to share pre-publication research, unpublished manuscripts, presentations, posters, white papers, technical papers, supplementary findings, and other scientific documents." The new archive will make contributions from biology, medicine, chemistry and the earth sciences available online. The articles, papers and presentations are evaluated for relevance by an editorial board but are not subject to more rigorous peer-review.

Nature Precedings and the life sciences are finally catching up with physicists and mathematicians. In 1991, physicist Paul Ginsparg launched arXive.org (the X is pronounced as the Greek letter Chi). ArXive is an online system for distributing scientific research results which bypasses the conventional avenues of scientific publication. ArXive offers open access to 427,608 e-prints in physics, mathematics, computer science and quantitative biology. E-prints are not peer-reviewed by editors but readers can decide for themselves how scientifically valuable they are. ...-

"Burqa courage"

The ULTIMATE way to hide behind your mother's apron!

dinna Bonnie Prince Charlie use an early burka disguise on his flight to Fwance?

There's something else we should be concerned with today. We lost six more good men to Taliban cowards, they're not fighters, couldn't win a war in combat, just run around in ragged dresses and set bombs.

Our biggest concern of all is Jack Layton and Dion playing into their hands. No sooner had the news arrived of our men being killed than Layton and Dion are at a microphone spewing defeatist crap, white flaggers both and diminishing the sacrifice of our men.

The big part of the problem is the Liberals sold our Chinook Helicopters to the Dutch and they have to wait for the new order by Conservatives, MEANWHILE, our men are dying in large part a lot of men would be alive IF we had those choppers.

So the goddamned Lefties, Liberals and Dippers, surrender Monkeys, aiding and abetting the enemy by calling for a pullout.

We have the great country we have today because our forefathers left the battles in two world wars.

REMEMBER, THE LIBERALS SENT THEM THERE WITHOUT THE PROPER EQUIPMENT. THEY DECIMATED OUR FORCES AND ABILITY TO EVEN DEFEND OURSELVES AND OUR SOVEREIGNTY.

PLEASE GOD, NEVER ALLOW THEM POWER AGAIN IN MY LIFETIME.

OOPS! THAT SHOULD READ "because our forefathers did not leave the battle".

Sorry but this is so upsetting to think we have such terrible scoundrels sitting in our HOC on the Left. If they ever got power long term we'd have no country.

Burqua Courage? As pointed out by Glenn Beck on Mondays show: Osama BL has around 24 children, Al Zaquari likely the same as well as most of the enemy leadership. Not one instance of one of their sons or daughters acting as human bombs; odd don't you think?

Why is the socialist Jack-Who? spouting?

The answer: the left-liberals/socialists are allied with the Muslim Islamist murderers. The mainstream media, aka the MSM, is the trumpet of the JihadWar-Socialist alliance.

This alliance seeks the overthrow of Western civilization. The JackWho?s are not a fifth column; they are openly aiding/abetting the enemy.

JackWho? is but a puppet, mouthing the message of surrender. Puppet he may be; but, his words are vile, deadly poison.

Pleading, begging for mercy from these traitors is
a measure of desperation. It is pandering to the enemy, exposing your own throat to the enemy.

There is but one response to the enemy:
Death to the Jihad Muslims.

Matt’s Thoughts | Jack Layton on Afghanistan, Why We Should Stay

Sometimes I really wonder how and why people can be so insensitive. We recently learned that six Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan and instead of showing some bare minimum degree of respect, at least one politician rushed out to condemn government policy. NDP leader Jack Layton couldn’t wait criticize the mission in the wake of the latest news, choosing instead to offer nonsensical alternatives that dialogue can solve everything. VRINDAVAN, India (CNN) -- Ostracized by society, India's widows flock to the holy city of Vrindavan waiting to die. They are found on side streets, hunched over with walking canes, their heads shaved and their pain etched by hundreds of deep wrinkles in their faces.

Hindu widows are shunned from society when their husbands die, not for religious reasons, but because of tradition -- and because they're seen as a financial drain on their families.

The point here is that, while it is legitimate for Canadians to have a number of different viewpoints on the best stategy for dealing with Afghanistan, and even to debate those viewpoints privately, it is not legitimate for high-profile politicians to be constantly second-guessing our commitment in public, thereby aiding and abetting our enemy. Taliban jack is exposing our troops to special attention from the Taliban as surely as if he were committing an act of egregious treason. In another time he would be charged with sedition and probably would have been imprisoned or even executed.

There will come an appropriate time to again publicly debate the merits of various proposals to deal with Afghanistan and the terrorists that are trying to take it over again, but the debate cannot be prolonged and continuous because of the effects on the morale and security of our troops and, ultimately, of our civilians at home and in other parts of the world. Quite possibly there is a better way to deal with the Taliban (although I am not by any means suggesting "negotiation"). But while we are committed to the present strategy, we must not allow naive or malevolent politicians to undermine it.

Somebody with sufficient authority and credibility has to sit that layton idiot down and explain to him what his words are causing. I suggest that any of you who have an NDP MP send him or her a polite, literate and forceful letter decrying layton's lack of discretion and respect for our troops. I will also send one to my LPC MP, since Borat Dion is almost as bad as yakkety jack on this issue.

The Global Warming - Radical Islam Convergence

At the Hamburg venue of Al Gore’s global warming advertisement, Live Earth, one of the featured performers (added at the last minute to boost weak ticket sales) is popstar turned radical Islamist Cat Stevens, aka Yusuf Islam, aka Yusuf.

In Hamburg, where hip-shaking Colombian sensation Shakira, British songstress Katie Melua and US rapper Snoop Dogg are among the 20 acts, barely more than half the 40,000 tickets had been sold as of the start of July. Insiders blamed the low ticket sales on the absence of a major crowd-pulling German act after Herbert Groenemeyer pulled out. Even the last minute addition of Yusuf Islam, the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens is unlikely to improve things much. ...-

""Please Mr. Layton, think about what you are saying before you say it. Your words are clearly heard in Afghanistan, and not just by our troops.""

maz2....I had the honour last night of talking with a Warrant Officer from the PPCLI who was in the same squad as the 4 fellow soldiers killed by "friendly fire" by the 500 lb bomb droped by Schimt. He was 50 feet from Pvt.Green.They saw the F-16s, and as he said...we knew we were in deep shit when they stopped doing their normal figure 8 patrol pattern. We radioed base and asked WTF was going on. We heard nothing until the explosion. The jets were supersonic, and no warning. As far as he knows, the Yanks didn't even get confirmation of who was in the area. As he said...what were they afriad of? They are going 1500 mph, at 10,000 feet and they were worried about small arms fire? BTW...he is going back in August for his 3rd tour...may God bless and keep him. He truly belivieves that most of us back him and his fellow soldiers. Sigh...I wish it was so,but to many dippers/leftards around.

Yes, Iberia, thanks, it was the Mulroney Conservatives who sold the Chinooks. The next order for helicopters by the Conservatives was CANCELED by Chretien, neither were taking the military seriously, they were living in La, La land.

Demolishing the military capability of the Armed Forces is no way to run a country. On top of that they opened the floodgates to immigration of people with whom we have little or no history.
Many of these immigrants are from tinderboxes in the Middle East and many are here with baggage and are sympathetic to the terrorist cause.

We are living in dangerous times. FINALLY we have a government and a Prime Minister who realizes that fact and intends to build our military back to standard, capable of defending our sovereignty and pulling our weight with our Allies.

lberia...I do not if you are military/ex...but please do not play petty politics with our brave men and women who are dying to defend YOUR right to say what you wish. Without them, we would be just another 3rd world country. To even remotely denegrate them is an insult to all you hold near and dear. To paraphrase...we sleep comfortably at night because somebody's daughter/son died to give us that right!

" a former Liberal party (Quebec) executive director and formerly a big fan of Mr. Corriveau, testified that Mr. Corriveau claimed credit for a system of kickbacks on commissions paid to communications agencies, retaining some for himself and the rest going to the party.

Michel Beliveau, a former executive director of the Liberal party's Quebec wing, testified that Mr. Corriveau once gave him up to $100,000 in cash-stuffed envelopes to help finance poor Liberal ridings."

Let's hope the search of the absent minded Corriveau's house doesn't reveal anything on his friend Chretien. It would sure put a smudge on the Order of Canada Award Chretien is about to receive, never mind whether a person who enabled a scheme like Adscam should be awarded anyway.

lberia...my bad. I re-read your comment. Sorry. As an ex-military, I tend to be a little hasty in defending our troops, which is not a bad thing,if done properally(sp?). cqcq I believe it has been the Liberals in power all these years our vets have been ignored. Speaking as a conservative I don't want our troops to face conflict except when it is a "just war". Afstan is just such a conflict and I support the troops as they carry out Canada's desire to see peace, freedom and democracy come to a nation all too familiar with conflict. For those who are killed or wounded I believe that we as a nation owe them a debt of gratitude that money can never compensate.

Well said. My sister has lost a son, which she can never replace. My niece has lost a brother, her protector, her friend. My parents have lost a grandson, their pride and joy.I have lost a nephew, who liked nothing better then camping and fishing, yet he volunteered and gave his life for the betterment of a people he belivied in. Think back. If not for guys/gals like him, we would be speaking German right now,and killing gays,Jews,Gypsys, etc. It is not right to kill anybody without a reason, but sometimes one must stand and fight those who would oppress us. No amount of money can ever replace him, or any of our other brave soldiers who have died to give you and me the right to have this forum. If they can save just one child from the horrors of Sharia law,or the horror of the Taliban/Al'Quida,if they can allow one girl to go to school without fear of reprisal,if they can make it possible so that somebody can vote for their choice without fear, then they have not given their lives in vain. As I said earlier,I had the honour of speaking to a PPCLI WO who is a two time vet of Afghanistan(soon to be 3). Is he scared? Damn right. But he has been there, and has seen what good we are doing. He knows that the average Joe/Jane Afghani wants nothing more then to be free, and live their lives without fear of the Taliban. We are our brothers keepers, and if we ever forget that, then we are are surely on the the road to hell.

Ah...cqcq...do you not know it is politically incorrect to support a military? Nevermind that they keep my and your hinney safe! Politicians,of all stripes. Bah.I would spit on them, but why waste good spit?

Advocates of the taliban, cheerleaders of headhacker facism and Michael Harris have flipped their big girly wigs.

"Despite hawkish political rhetoric and an inscrutable media effort to glamorize this mission, a Strategic Counsel poll last week found that Canadians by a margin of 2 to 1 think talking to the Taliban is a better way to end the violence than military force. Perhaps the most surprising fact in the poll was that 57% of Conservative Party members support the idea of peace talks"
So says Mike.

Perhaps, a more surprising fact in the poll is that there are no facts in the poll, just gossipy, defeatest liberal opinion very similar to what some say they always hear at the hairdresser for liberal typists, as they frost each others tips.

http://www.ottawasun.com/News/Columnists/Harris_Michael/2007/07/06/4317094.html

Harris has been blinded by his obsessive hatred for George Bush because he had the nerve to go after the murderous Iraqi named Saddam Husein. He has the same hate on for Harper because Harper said at the time that we should be standing with our traditional allies in this fight against evil.

It's impossible to fathom what goes on under those "girly wigs".That's the sort of thinking that will take us down if it gets hold.

Just returned from a trip to the east coast of Canada.
One thing that sticks in my mind, was a conversation with one of my uncles, recently retired. He's picked up some seasonal work with the government (prov/ fed I don't know). He works four months then draws EI for eight months. Pretty good eh?.

Those were his exact words!
I was not only shocked but disgusted!
And you wonder where the stereotypes come from....
