Cyber-bullies who plague internet chat rooms with obscene and insulting comments will be banned under the first national scheme to strip them of their anonymity.
People going online will be forced to provide their real names and social security numbers under a new law that makes internet portals responsible for policing message boards and weblogs.
The law has been introduced in South Korea, and is certain to be closely monitored by other countries where there is concern over online abuse.
ZIMBABWE’S leading cleric has called on Britain to invade the country and topple President Robert Mugabe. Pius Ncube, the Archbishop of Bulawayo, warned that millions were facing death from famine, unable to survive amid inflation believed to have soared to 15,000%.
A NEW disease is abroad in eastern Germany: Frauenmangel, lack of women. In some towns there are only 75 young women for every 100 young men. In one or two there are as few as 40. The effects are worrying, not only because populations may shrink but also because of the existence of a growing underclass of young men who are partnerless, underqualified and jobless.
OTTAWA — Canada Revenue Agency has reluctantly signed up for a controversial online security system, warning it may pull out if the federal government doesn't cut costs significantly.
"If there is not sufficient movement towards a sustainable cost model within 18 months, we will proceed to consider other alternatives," says a toughly worded agency letter, obtained by the Canadian Press.
The missive is more evidence that Ottawa's vaunted Secure Channel system, estimated to cost up to a billion dollars, is a troubled, high-cost project that some have compared to the federal gun registry.

US to hunt the Taliban inside Pakistan ...... (Musharraf to address to the nation)
KARACHI - Since last September, North Atlantic Treaty Organization forces in Afghanistan have been pressing Islamabad for the right to conduct extensive hot-pursuit operations into Pakistan to target Taliban and al-Qaeda bases.
According to Asia Times Online contacts, NATO and its US backers have gotten their wish: coalition forces will start hitting targets wherever they might be.
Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf is expected to make an important announcement on extremism during an address to the nation in the next day or two.
The ATol contacts in Islamabad say that coalition intelligence has pinpointed at least four centers in the tribal areas of North Waziristan and South Waziristan on the border with Afghanistan from which Taliban operations inside Afghanistan are run. These bases include arms caches and the transfer and raising of money and manpower, the latter in the form of foot-soldiers to fight with the Taliban-led insurgency. ...- http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1859648/posts

Police vow to clamp down on anti-Muslim backlash
Police chiefs and senior politicians moved to reassure Scotland's Muslim communities yesterday amid fears of a backlash after the terrorist incident at Glasgow airport.
Police said two minor incidents of racist abuse had been reported since the attacks but promised to clamp down on any backlash.
"I am convinced that Carter, bound by ethical convictions of a religious nature, would never have ordered any such action against me. I don’t know that Clinton ever ordered my death, so I cannot accuse him of such an action. Don't Mince Words
The London car-bomb plot was designed to kill women.
By Christopher Hitchens
[...]
Only at the tail end of the coverage was it admitted that a car bomb might have been parked outside a club in Piccadilly because it was "ladies night" and that this explosion might have been designed to lure people into to the street, the better to be burned and shredded by the succeeding explosion from the second car-borne cargo of gasoline and nails. Since we have known since 2004 that a near-identical attack on a club called the Ministry of Sound was proposed in just these terms, on the grounds that dead "slags" or "sluts" would be regretted by nobody, a certain amount of trouble might have been saved by assuming the obvious. The murderers did not just want body parts in general but female body parts in particular. [...]
The most noticeable thing about all theocracies is their sexual repression and their directly related determination to exert absolute control over women. In Britain, in the 21st century, there are now honor killings, forced marriages, clerically mandated wife-beatings, incest in all but name, and the adoption of apparel for females that one cannot be sure is chosen by them but which is claimed as an issue of (of all things) free expression. This would be bad enough on its own and if it were confined to the Muslim "community" alone. But, of course, such a toxin cannot be confined, and the votaries of theocracy now claim the God-given right to slaughter females at random for nothing more than their perceived immodesty. The least we can do, confronted by such radical evil, is to look it in the eye (something it strives to avoid) and call it by its right name. For a start, it is the female victims of this tyranny who are "disenfranchised," while something rather worse than "disenfranchisement" awaits those who dare to disagree. ...- http://www.slate.com/id/2169592/

"Britain is at War with the Jihadists, that's the bottom line" says Dr. Walid Phares.
British officials "need to cope with the reality that they are the target of a Jihad war," Dr. Phares told Jack Riccardi on San Antonio's KTSA Saturday.[...]
Instead, said Phares, the growth of Jihadism is not the result of socio-economic disparities, but of the expansion of Wahabism, Salafism and other forms of radical ideologies. British understanding of the whole picture cannot complete itself unless a clear cut absorption of the fact that what the U.K. (and many other democracies) are facing now and in the future is a "War," not dispersed acts of violence. ...- http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1859920/posts
You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.
Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes
with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges
at you. You are carrying a Glock 40 caliber, and you are an expert shot. You
have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?
----- DEMOCRAT'S ANSWER: -----
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man
look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would
inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What
about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the
knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this
situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I
carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and
to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he
definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I
were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was
stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need
to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day, and make this happier, healthier
street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need
to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

The Car Bomb Jihad: Is Britain Seeing Clearly?
With each revelation made in Britain and in the West about a foiled plot or after an actual attack, a shower of questions is raised within the mainstream media, some of which contradict the other. The June 29 British success in averting two (maybe more) car bombs in London has also been accompanied by an endless series of issues, revealing among other things how the counterterrorism culture within Western democracies is still lacking in terms of cohesiveness. By comparison with previous conflicts, the analytical behavior of the global war on terror deserves a serious review.

Something to watch. La Russophobe quotes the Washington Post on the subject of the Kremlin's possible deployment of denial-of-service attacks on its domestic critics. This follows the use of such attacks on Estonia, with whom Russia had a political dispute.
A political battle is raging in Russian cyberspace. Opposition parties and independent media say murky forces have committed vast resources to hacking and crippling their Web sites in attacks similar to those that hit tech-savvy Estonia as the Baltic nation sparred with Russia over a Soviet war memorial. While they offer no proof, the groups all point the finger at the Kremlin, calling the electronic siege an attempt to stifle Russia's last source of free, unfiltered information. The victims, who range from liberal democrats to ultranationalists, allege their hacker adversaries hope to harass the opposition with the approach of parliamentary elections in December and presidential elections in next March. ...
The attacks are similar to assaults _ sometimes a million computers-strong _ unleashed in April and early May against Web sites in Estonia. Officials there say waves of attacks crashed dozens of government, corporate and media Web sites in one of Europe's most wired societies. The cyber warfare included computer-generated spam and so-called Distributed Denial-of-Service, or DDoS, attacks. ...- http://fallbackbelmont.blogspot.com/

For a start, it is the female victims of this tyranny who are "disenfranchised," while something rather worse than "disenfranchisement" awaits those who dare to disagree. ...-

(and many other democracies) are facing now and in the future is a "War," not dispersed acts of violence. ...-

Thought this was kind of funny:

Following are a few questions I suggest we consider...-

Blogs are bogs: full of nothing but swamp water, vanity, blatherings of idiots.
If so, why are the tyrants attacking blogs, aka "independent media"?
It's an old story. The Church chained the Bible to the walls to prevent the Word from being spread. Didn't work.
Freedom knows no boundaries.

Achtung Panzer!
The cyber warfare included computer-generated spam and so-called Distributed Denial-of-Service, or DDoS, attacks. ...-

Fishing report for Canada Day
4lb walleye and 2 keeper size perch from Lk. Scugog Monday AM.
I trolled a floating fire tiger rapalla.
Smallest size Orange Erie Dearie tipped with a worm also accounted for 2 more walleye and 3 muskie in our boat.
All the musky were successfully released to do battle again.
Sounds like a fish story to me richfisher, but a good one. Makes me want to put away the wrenches and spend a day on a lake instead of shine and shows!
