I’ve received an email from Stanislav Shmulevich, who has been arrested in New York for putting a Koran in a toilet at Pace University. And his case is even more outrageous than we first reported.
First, Shmulevich was arrested and jailed for 24 hours. Second, he’s not facing misdemeanor charges—he’s being charged with two felonies, criminal mischief and aggravated harassment.
Felonies. For putting a book in a toilet.

Mr. Shmulevich is caught in a Kafkaesque nightmare right out of the Soviet Union, and it’s all happening at the demand of the Muslim Student Association and the Council on American Islamic Relations.

  2. The primary question in my mind is whether he attempted to flush the book or not and if plumbers were required to unclog the pipes. Exposure of plumbers to toxic waste of this form is a serious crime. Such exposures may result in homicidal intolerance and brainless irrationality.
    It would have been far better if he’d soaked the book in bacon fat and tossed it into an outhouse. In solidarity with Stanislav, there should be a national campaign of weekly Koran flushings or for those who are concerned about the effects on plumbing, dropping off a Koran in the local supermarket pork section might be more to their taste.

  4. If it had been the Bible, the US Constitution, or Atlas Shrugged would the act be seen as anything other than a lecture prop?

    Within the bounds of Western Civilization, the only crime should be one of property if and only if the accused didn’t own the copies of the Quran.

  5. For starters, I haven’t been able to find out if the stall had run out of tissue. If so, there may be a logical reason for what happened. Be that as it may, I encourage all readers of this blog to send money to CAIR for the purpose of cleaning and completely restoring that copy of the koran to its previous pristine condition. Oh, and everybody should apologize, too. Let’s hope that Chief Cheecham shares our outrage and closes down the road to Axle Lake again.

  7. As the years wear on since 9/11 I find myself becoming more and more anti-muslim. Their extreme intolerance of others, brutal non-ending attempts to export terror and rejection of integration has darkened my humanity toward their kind. Right now I’m totally in favor of a permanent immigration ban.
    If the growth of Islamic hatred towards others and their work to Islamify the West continues then I’d probably support sending them back.

  11. ET….I believe he was caught on film removing the’holy’books.Other acts of racially motivated vandalism that occurred were not being pinned on him(not yet,anyways)and it did take 10 mos to make an arrest in the first place.
    I find it very curious that this kid had also read the Koran himself and had recommended others to do the same.
    I believe we do not yet have all the facts on this one.
    I am only speculating here,but from what I’ve witnessed of our PC society,this story wouldn’t even exist if he had rose-bowled bibles.

    He could claim that he was reading it during his response to the call of nature and accidentally dropped it… after all, it happens all the time with cellphones and stuff…

  13. I am waiting for a strong leader to arise at some point. One who will unite all of us who have had enough of our weak pandering leadership and our corrupted educational systems.
    We will need to win the war against our own leftists before we can hope to win a war against anyone else. We have mortal enemies on two fronts … at home and everywhere else in the world.
    The home front is the more immediate problem if we are to survive and continue living somewhat free.
    The people who are charging and trying Stanislav are the enemy just as sure as Osama bin Laden is our enemy. Our police and our courts do his work for him.

    Charles Merrill, the artist who recently edited the Holy Bible with a black marker and pair of scissors, has lately burned a rare Islamic Holy Book, The Koran, valued at $60,000.00, in an undisclosed Chicago location. “The purpose of editing and burning Abrahamic Holy Books is to eliminate homophobic hate,” Merrill stated. “Both ancient books are terrorist manuals.”
    Notice that the Koran, Quran, whatever, was burned in an “undisclosed” location. Wonder what he could have been worried about?

    The politically correct culture that we’ve developed fosters tolerance, even for those who are intolerant towards us. In this case, a student who was probably making a stupid political statement, is being charged with a felony crime rather than a misdemeanor.
    The organization that is demanding this charge has been known to incite violence. Their leaders are known for their hate speech towards the Jews, and are willing to kill or be killed to punish us as infidels.
    As a group of concerned citizens, we are interested in preventing the erosion of our freedoms, especially if it’s to placate a group of violent, extreme bigots.
    If I was gay, I could be stoned to death in the eyes of CAIR. If I was a woman not dressed to their standard I could be raped and stoned to death. If I was a Christian I could be stoned to death. Essentially if my actions displease the monsters at CAIR I could be legitimately murdered in their eyes.
    So, this brings us to quite the impasse. I hope that people in society would take my permissive view on most things. Having sex with a man who’s not your husband… fine. Having sex with a woman who’s married… what do I care. Worshiping a comet and claiming that you’ve cloned people… good for you. Unfortunately though, these people are not permissive. In fact, my permissiveness is such that I could justifiably be murdered.
    So, are you a demented progressive or someone who just doesn’t care? I find the latter hard to believe because you actually came to a very political website. If it’s the former, when you applaud for exploding people and murderers, you are insulting the exact institution of liberalism that you subscribe to.
    And also, next time use your actual name, otherwise you’re just a pathetic coward.

  19. This just in!!! Kaytel recognizing the need for literary folks to flush inferior products has announced plans for the Kaytel Koran Kompactor.
    A company spokes person said that the market for compaction and emaceration before flushing was limited to a few cranky academics. With the felony charges against Mr. Yoblomivich we see a vibrant market for investors.
    Imagine, in the privacy of your own home, the ability to not only trash but compact, emacerate and flush those words that infuriate and offend.
    I’ve seen the entire works of the Enlightenment go down the drain, said the Kaytel rep.

  31. Ban the Koran (Qur’an) in western countries for inciting hatred, violence, and religious intolerance! To own a copy should be a felony in the west and if you wish to practice its propaganda then do so in your own country. Many other books of hate or violence are banned in the US such as the “Anarchist Cookbook” why should this one be any different? The Christian bible I believe is still banned in parts of the Middle East as with much of western “propaganda”. That doesn’t seem to bother many westerners as it shouldn’t. The Koran should stay in the desert to be appreciated with the lizards, where they can continue their hate against each other as they had in the past. Brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor. When the western governments allowed this into our homes is was the greatest hate crime against a citizenry yet purported!

    Stanislav Shmulevich was engaging in an act of legitimate cultural dissent by deconstructing the meaning of sh– and recontextualising it in a progressive postmodernist political context. Mr Shmulevich was metaphorically implying that Islam is a form of cultural waste produced by a historically specific conjunction of events which have now been superseded by more modern and relevant constructs. The collective human body, so to speak, is eliminating outmoded and useless cultural matter in the usual biological way. It is a transgressive and radical subversion of meaning of the most extreme and politically charged kind.

  39. Why is it that Canadians do not stop all open immigration. This would stop Muslim immigration but would not be discriminatory . A Ottawa dept made a study and concluded Canada did NOT need more immigrants. I agree.
