Where the foxes caper unmolested , the government packs your school lunch, and nobody ever dies...

This is not unique to Britain.

Looking back at the well-planned communities and buildings and structures from the past just brings a tear to my eye (figuratively speaking). They are monuments to common sense and ingenuity. They were planned and designed by engineers...those who possess ingenuity and who are taught to APPLY science.

Today, what is planned, designed and built, though it may have an engineer's stamp somewhere in the contract package, is generally directed by politicians.

Leave the planning to professional planners, leave the engineering to professional engineers and leave the production of hot air to the politicians.

I prefer substance over style...facts over feelings...logic over emotion.

I see Kate has tweeked to the fact that Britain is getting distinctly "creepy" in both an Orwellian sense and culturally.

Every time I hear some cheese-putz progressive here beaking off about how we should follow British social policies, I want to hurl.

"Every time I hear some cheese-putz progressive here beaking off about how we should follow British social policies, I want to hurl"

You mean you want Canada to keep following the communist policies of the dippers and libs. At least the UK has private medicare alongside the N Korean/ Cuban one of Canada. Hell even China has private medicare.

Massive tracts of land are wasted to inter the dead, who really don't care how they're disposed of. "Stacking" bodies on 75 year old grave sites means piling new coffins on dust.

In Vancouver, some of the best land is wasted on a huge cemetery, 33rd and Fraser St. area, that could be better used to house the people of the nearby Bangla- Van multicultural district.

PO: The UK is down the rabbit hole of the engineered anthill society...they are the model colony for the global village totally engineered society...what good are property rights or a pay clinic if you have no way to defend them against an omnipotent state that claims ultimate control of everything? If you think China escapes this model dystopia think again.

No wonder the UK feds are hustling to get the electronic control grid in place to track the movements of their citizens in a gigantic police surveillence society...dissent has to be closely monitored and dealt with quickly while the engineers construct the antill quietly....mean while the population of (soon to be slave ants) wallow in a deep slumber provided by mass media.

Oh yea, national health allows private clinics...problem is you have to use biometric ID to acces the service and every termite in the Bureaucracy knows your business...this must be the new freedom I keep hearing about. 80

So I guees your point is this is not happenning in Canada.

Hell... the infrastructure is the least scary part of it.

How about, "Dumbing down the world..." one
of the scarier parts of the United Kingdoms's
"progressive agenda".

Because we're all, well, you know... the same.

What's yours is mine.

England has come under the control of liberals these last few years i mean ADMIRAL HORATION NELSON,RICHARD THE LION HEART and WINSTON CHURCHILL must be spinning in their graves

Contains s superb quote on ham actor, formerly known as PM, Tony Blair (from the Maclean piece Why England is Rotting):

The venerable right of centre newsmagazine The Spectator, in its editorial, said the episode [the Iranian humiliation] "demonstrated just how deeply British society has been corrupted by the twin cults of celebrity and victimhood." These sentiments were echoed by the social commentator Theodore Dalrymple, who said the affair showed Britain "to be a country of very slight account, with a population increasingly unable to distinguish the trivial from the important and the virtual from the real, led by a man of the most frivolous earnestness who for many years has been given to gushes of cheap moral enthusiasm."

...OKAY ALL together now, follow the bouncing dot and sing along -

OooooooOOOOh, I wish I were an Euro Myer Whinie...

Eng-a-land swings like a pend-a-lum do ...
