Rasmussen Reports;

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has to share his spot atop the field of Republican Presidential hopefuls this week. The newest face in the race, former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson, is now tied with Giuliani. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds each man earning support from 24% of likely Republican Primary voters. A week ago, Giuliani had a six percentage point lead over Thompson, 23% to 17%.

I sure hope the Repubs don't nominate Freddy. Hillary will chew him up and spit him out.

really , I think Fred will look like a calm stoic compared to Schillary.

Brief Overview of Congressman Ron Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Ron Paul: All praise to his libertarian ideas and personal ethics BUT, judging by his star-struck appearance on Bill Maher (along with political philosopher Ben Affleck) he seems to have no leadership qualities at all. If Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher could not reduce government Ron Paul sure won't.

He's also too much an idealist (too much time around babies?). For example, he seems to blame the US for all the ills of the world and seems to think that in this globalized economically interdependent world the US can go back to pre-WW1 isolationism. No can do.

And you have to admit that the lefty Ron Paul fan club is not supporting his small government philosophy only his apparent view that "it's all the US's fault".

I agree with you Ron Paul is a true constitutional Republican and the only man to save the party from sliding down the statist kleptocracy rabbit hole.

But it seems the GOP is on a self destructive death wish...they have chosen an heir apparent and it aint Paul...or Giuliani

The Mob candidate is iced...don't expect to see Don "Giulli" get much further....the mob hasn't the juice in the GOPNC they once had.

For whatever it tells you, I had determined to not even bother voting in the next election.

Yes, I thought all the "R's" choices- at least the few who could actually win the primary- were that awful.

Fred, I'll walk the stump for.

From all the poll projections and analyses I have been reading, Senator Thompson will be the likely Republican candidate. And, if not him, my runner-up is Mitt Romney. Guiliani and McCain (especially) are already out of the race.

WL Mackenzie Redux: Giuliani, mob? You don't mean that, right?

My feelings are: the New Deal cannot be reversed. You can't put that geni back. You can't take back the goodies.

Libertarians, like myself, are idealistic nutters really. It's just an eccentric hobby!

Only Giuliani can beat Clinton in the general election. And if Gore enters, all bets are off.

Fred is the first person to raise the hopes of the US right, who are gagging on the republican party establishment at present. To the point they are not sending in money.

[ Only Giuliani can beat Clinton in the general election. And if Gore enters, all bets are off. ]

I agree. Gore would resemble the definition of nothing; "A turd in the middle of the road with the sh** kicked out of it."

In a debate, can you imagine how Fred could tie Albert up in knots.

So Al how high the sea ??
How big your house ??
How many miles your jet logged now ?
Is AIT down below 50% truth level yet ?
You want to give Cuba how many $Billions ?

Would resemble a Johnny Carson reun :)

Nobody is going to vote a lobbyist into office. Not these days.

I have to say Rudy did do a great job in NYC. It is one of the safest cities in America now.
