Facts? Not so bad. As to the rest of it.... wow....LOL

If that was typed by a 5 year old I'm mighty impressed.

How Lyndon discovered one scheme to leverage his influence enough to land in the white house.

Johnson got himself a job where he physically handed out Texas state public monies to various qualified Texas departments and groups.

His trick was to impart the idea that it was his personal evaluation and decision that determined who got the funds.

It was this loyalty of grateful department heads that gave Lyndon the lift-off he needed to reach the top executive office.

Barry Goldwater was Johnson*s political opponent for president. Johnson, a heavy beer drinker, admitted to frequent annoying reminders of the Goldwater image. = TG

HAHA Tony! That's a hoot ..... good one!

Read the comments at the link. Somebody found the website that this was plagiarized from. Interesting that the student must have deliberately misspelled most of the words, probably in an attempt to avoid suspicion.

Hay, that my senior thesis! I did'nt give perrmission for publication. Whom do I souix?

Mystery Meat: whom do you wish to souix? Better check with Gen'l. Custer; he got souixed but good.

sum one didn't use his spel-chick

I have to admit I was totally sucked in. False air of superiority taking hold of my easily corrupted ego. Whe will I ever learn?

Here I sat, smug in my selfcongratualitory(?) delusion. Thinking MY mastery(?) of the English language came from reading all manner of printed material while living in Chatham N.B., I felt immensely superior to the author of the text. Oh happy day!!

All was not as it appeared, however and the result was, as in previous instances, the morrally superior Canadian ended up, being humbly brought back soundly back to earth, and as usually rubbing crow off his face,

As you were.

Alan Henry from St. John's, Canada writes: ....
...I work with youth facing criminal charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. A substantial percentage of the "frequent flyers" share a commonality. They were all socially promoted for one or more grades. None of them report having special classes or tutoring to help them catch up with their classmates. All of them now hate school. Those old enough to drop out usually do so. Those not old enough just skip school instead. They have a tendency to disrupt classes from boredom...

Toronto Star article?

The school board for which I work has been promoting "literacy" for over a decade. 'Problem is, the board doesn't really mean it. It goes along with the "shallow, wide" mess of a provincial curriculum, which leaves teachers and kids--especially those at risk--gasping for breath. (Boards everywhere are also cancelling loads of much needed special education programs and/or changing their mandates, e.g., watering them down or overloading them. It's a scandal of huge proportions.)

What's needed ia a "narrow, deep" curriculum, at least to the end of grade 4. Kids need to learn the BASICS--literacy and numeracy--to MASTERY before tackling the ludicrous expectations of much of the highfalutin curriculum that a critical mass of our kids are not ready for. (Doesn't anyone at the ministry and board office understand child development anymore?)

Add to this mess the critical mass of mini barbarians--with GIANT barbarian parents--being raised in this fair dominion and willing-to-cave-to-the-lowest-common-denominator-at-any-moment educational administrators. Then add the critical mass of sleepwalking Canadians whose comfortable--for now--heads are in the sand. This adds up to one @#**#@ nightmare!

Just wait until they have to rely on one of the "mutants" being churned out at the other end of the educational sausage factory. Not at all a pretty picture. And it's coming to your community one day very soon.

Get ready for third world conditions. (Check out the efficiency and fairness of the gulags our public education systems are becoming--rules for everyone but the "leaders"--to see what's coming.)

Like Gore Vidal once said: "Russian kids read Pushkin- American kids read Dick and Jane."
