Like health care, eh?;
Last week, the Oscar winning director announced that he'd decided to stash a copy of "Sicko" in Canada, in case the federal government decided to impound it over an apparently unauthorized trip to Cuba made during its filming. As it turns out, the hard part won't be getting the film released, but getting audiences to pay to see it now that its available for free.
And we know that's exactly how Michael "I don't agree with the copyright laws" Moore would want it.

This'll be interesting...a lefty who is put in the position of living by his own previous words. I suggest watching for:
a) any unadmitted reversals;
b) who the blame-scapegoat is, if any;
c) any cunning misdirection ploy.
MM doesn't mind if someone BUYS his movie, then loans it to a friend, because he knows he'll still make a lot of money. In this case, he stands to make nothing, nada, nyetchka.
Look for a change of tune from MM, coming to a courtroom near you, soon.
I'd love to know where he's stashed it.
I'd condone thievery....in this case.
Btw, I pay $108 per month for my free health care, in B.C.
What are rates for the free HC in other provinces?
You know, as much as I find Michael Moore contemptible, this is actually quite brilliant. Far from hurting his sales, he's going to end up with an even more money than he would if he had simply released it in theaters. Why? Product placement and merchandising.
[Spaceballs]
Yogurt: Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made. Spaceballs-the T-shirt, Spaceballs-the Coloring Book, Spaceballs-the Lunch box, Spaceballs-the Breakfast Cereal, Spaceballs-the Flame Thrower.
[turns it on]
Dink, Dink, Dink, Dink, Dink, Dink: Ooooh!
Yogurt: [reacts to dinks] The kids love this one.
[a dink hands him a doll that looks likes Yogurt]
Yogurt: And last but not least, Spaceballs the doll, me.
[pulls string]
Doll: May the schwartz be with you!
Yogurt: [kisses the doll] Adorable.
[/Spaceballs]
I think that more and more one is going to see movies released directly to the internet, whether on google video or youtube or on peer-to-peer filesharing.
The little guy is just stickin' it to the Man.
Michael Moore has become the GM Roger guy he chased around Michigan.
Micheal(Muttonhead)Moore he is the one who is sicko and why dont he go live with his buddy FIDEL CASTRO
say what you want about MM, but the message at the heart of his latest documentary is that when it comes to the matter of a person's health what kind of care they receive shouldn't be determined by the size of their wallet.
The US puts more public money into their healthcare system then any country in the world, yet tens of millions have not basic coverage. Meanwhile Castro has built a healthcare system that now exports thousands of trained doctors to impoverished area's of the world (including many S. American countries and also Pakistan after their deadly earthquake a few years back).
So shoot the messenger if you wish, but lets see some honest debate about the actual message for once.
As for the cost of my health-care, I have never once shelled out a dime for the handful of times I have been to a doctor or the ER.
tens of millions have not basic coverage
A lot of them are young people who could afford insurance but choose not to buy it.
I have never once shelled out a dime for the handful of times I have been to a doctor or the ER.
Neither have I but unlike you I feel ashamed. Then I remember how much tax I pay.

The poor are covered by Medicaid.

I believe the appropriate saying is "hoist on his own petard". Serves the obese, lying propagandist right.
"Michael Moore has become the GM Roger guy he chased around Michigan."
As do they all.
Successful anti-establishment activists always end up by becoming the establishment.
God moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.
What more can be said about Moore's Marxist utopianism that hasn't already been said?
Just ignore it and maybe this hideious blob of commie adipose tissue will render down in the hot Cuban sun to leave a permanent grease spot on Havana beach.
"Sicko", Is this a documentary about himself?
Randall G:
10's of millions don't have health care?
Isn't the number of illegal's in the US somewhere around that number?
and
You can get treatment in the US if you are poor. You just don't get the big bucks stuff.
"Meanwhile Castro has built a healthcare system that now exports thousands of trained doctors to impoverished area's of the world (including many S. American countries and also Pakistan after their deadly earthquake a few years back)."
So why did Castro have to fly a Spanish doctor in to treat him then... Oh and how many Cuban doctors have defected once they got out of their country on these so called assistance trips? Hundreds...
What planet are these Castro lovers on?
Exports doctors? or do they leave for the impoverished countries that look like a paradise compared to their own "sustainable agriculture"(Dr Bono Suzuki's words)----- read backwards backwater dump of a country.
dont mistake the little coastal resorts for the real Cuba.
Poor Sean S., you really have no idea about what goes on in the world of "health care". The Cuban government "educates" anybody with any kind of potential (and the young people gladly sign up because it provides food and shelter), but there are no jobs for them when they graduate. The government considers the "graduates" as their chatel (the government owns them) and accordingly makes deals with other countries that will trade goods and services for Cuba's graduates, Accordingly, the Cuban government has an ongoing deal with Venezuala-----doctors for oil.
Cuba is the prime example of a two tiered health system; one for the tourists and government people with influence, and one for the people. A Cuban friend of mine (living in Cuba) states that if you end up in prison or hospital, you had best have friends and family to bring you food and other "basics".
As for our healthcare being free, my taxes are not going down and healthcare takes a larger slice of governments' budget every year. But why do bring up the American healthcare system? Why not New Zealand, Australia, or many of the European countries for comparisons to our system?
I spent a couple weeks in what I call "castro's cuba",far from the resorts.Sweet people, but appalling poverty.Anyone who believes that Cuba is a socialist paradise should put down the brochures and get out in the country for a real eye-opener. As for thier health care, yeah right, get aids,go to hospijail.
There's a report in Advertising Age that recounts the bit-torrenting of Sicko all over the place; even the author of it has seen the bootleg version, as he admits in the piece. Just before the sign-off, it quotes one particular exhortation to download:
"One pirate link encouraged potential downloaders to view the film online, saying, 'Watch this free copy and keep $ out of that fat f---s hands.'"
Well, this is interesting. From comments here, I assume every other Province of Canada has FREE health care, but we in B.C. have to pay $108.00 per month for it.
dmorris, rates for health care in ontario are about 46% of the gdp.i am sure yours is one hell of alot higher than 108 a month
dmorris, most provinces pay through taxes that is why the semi literate think health careis free.
jmorrison, we pay taxes, too, among the highest in Canada. And still, on top of that, we get dinged another $108 per month, just in case any of us thought it was free.
My mother in law, down in Florida, paid $56 per month for Blue cross, and health care benefits beyond anything we'd get in Canada.
My point is, MM and the rest, keep yapping about free health care, and yes, we pay higher taxes, but most Provinces have a Premium on top of that.
There is no difference between MICHEAL MOORE and JOE GOBBELS and MICHEAL MOORE ecept gobbels is dead jim
