Geez, those hand guns in the Youtube Video (In post below)look real.

Me thinks Toronto needs a Rudy Juliani for mayor not a socialist bleeding heart wimp like David Miller and his cohorts on Toronto City council..

More fun from China.

First, something for the friggin' Lefties to chew on real hard (TED!): Actual slaves.
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-06/15/content_6247454.htm

Second, Thomas the Tank Engine toys made in China since 2002 have lead paint on them. Kid's toys with lead paint. Niiice.

And finally, Chinese munitions showing up in odd places.

This ends the Phantom Clue Bat for today. Use it on a Lefty or politician near you.

Another Grope and Flail poll gone horribly wrong.

Update on the Gaza story: the region is starting to get used to having Hamas in charge. It starts off with: "On its first day of full rule in Gaza, the Islamic militant Hamas on Friday granted amnesty to Fatah leaders, signalling that it seeks conciliation with the defeated forces of moderate Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas."

(How magnaminous of them...)

Another item from the Globe: a report on a study from Yale University speculating on how global warming may be good for Canada.

Indirectly, it supplies an answer to the perennial question, "Who speaks for Canada?" Answer: "No-one. The pols leave it to the Americans."

And meanwhile...

Today and tomorrow the CAF will be celebrating its 40th anniversary and holding its policy convention at that famous landmark paid for by Toronto taxpayers.

Zafar Bangash, editor of Crescent International, an Islamist newsletter, will be honoured Saturday night at the CAF's gala dinner at Brassaii Bistro, 461 King St. W., for his "unwavering" support of Palestine.

Besides calling Canada the mafia, on Sept. 16, 2001 when all of us were still reeling from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States, Bangash, while denouncing the killing of innocent civilians, wrote the attack "was most likely a successful attempt by one of America's many victims to hit back very, very hard."

Ain't it great.

Talk about a poll going wrong!

Re: the video of the "real" Toronto streets. Very sad, especially to see children playing where these young men stand around with their guns. (Don't know much of what they were saying...couldn't understand it.) And they're being taught by law students that the police are their enemy? They're their own enemy.

Two weeks ago, a 12-year-old took her own life. Last
Sunday, the girl's 14 year old brother and his 12 year
old girlfriend also committed suicide.

It's past time to shut down these hellholes and end the

Toronto the good. Wonder if these law students get funding from the Mayor ?

The Globe and Mail’s Margaret Wente writes

Shortly after the shooting death of Jordan Manners, the 15-year-old Toronto student, eighth-grade students at nearby Oakdale Park Middle School were called to an assembly. The subject: relations with the police. It's a hot issue in that part of town. The community is in an uproar over the shooting and allegations are flying that police have been heavy-handed in their hunt for Jordan's killer.

But the group invited by the school to address the students weren't interested in improving relations with the police. They were there to fan the flames. Their message to the 12- and 13-year-olds was simple: Don't trust the cops. They are not your friends. They deserve to be hated and feared, because they are bullying, brutal and racist. For good measure, they handed out an offensive little leaflet called "Survival Tactics: Dealing with Police." It kicks off with a reference to Rodney King, the black man who was beaten up by the Los Angeles police several years before these kids were born. "Although it may be difficult, be polite when they are insulting and bullying you," the brochure reads.

Who were these anti-cop propagandists? They were law students from nearby Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. They are volunteers with an outfit called Community and Legal Aid Services Programme, CLASP.

Glenn Stuart, who directs the program, told me that CLASP works with many local schools, starting as early as Grade 5. Its goal is to teach the kids their "rights." In these sessions, students are encouraged to relate incidents of police harassment and alleged brutality. Each kid gets a wallet-sized reminder entitled "Know Your Rights." It has an illustration of upraised fists - presumably representing the masses rising up against their oppressors.

Needless to say, the police aren't included in these programs. That's because they're the enemy.

In fact, Toronto's police have made admirable efforts to expand community policing and outreach programs. Some officers spend hours of their own time volunteering with youth groups. And yet the cone of silence remains an tough obstacle to solving crimes and protecting the community from thugs.

ATM fees, geez who knew it was so simple Jack , thanks.

In the same speech, Layton says Canada's "prosperity gap" can be closed by reinstatement of federal minimum wage, the ending of ATM fees, a lowering of gas prices and affordable education and training.

Jack sounds like Chavez now. It must be something viral in the air.

25 yr old Sister of Jordan Manners was arrested & charged with posession of an prohibited weapon with ammo. She works for a Toronto Non-profit housing agency, not clear if related to his Murder at his high school.
This happened in the toronto gang sweep.
toronto sun june 15/07

Regarding the Quebec Bill 9, I just got a great idea...what if we passed a law that said it was illegal to do illegal things?! That would solve all crimes, wouldn't it? /sarc off

Ban guns on school grounds...yah, that's gonna work...not!

Smoking is banned in most public places now but you can still buy tobacco products and carry them in your pocket or purse.

Banning guns won't make them go away and they're still being bought and sold. If a wacko wants a gun he'll get one.

How about get to the heart of the matter and we ban stupidity and Loopy Lefties while we're at it.

Ruth Bell Graham wife of Billy Graham has died...yet only one media source is telling the story.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,282692,00.html

Why is it that when gas prices are low, Smiling Jack says that they need to be higher to deter driving and CO2 emissions. Yet when the prices go up, Jacks right there demanding a decrease.

Strive on Jack one day you may make sense. Pigs might fly too.

Let the Election Fantasy's begin

McGuinty pledges 17Billion to New Toronto Transit, Nothing for the rest Of Ontario.
Now here is the other thing, These will be Electric Transit, So where is the electricity to come from as he is shutting down those Evil Polluting Coal Plants that are Destroying the World all by themselves. Nothing mentioned to build new Electric Generating Stations to compensate for the increases that are going to required or is it just the fact that Rural Ontario will just face more Brown Outs, & increased electric bills.
As i said Let the Fantasy's begin

"The Plane Boss, The Plane"

CBC puts it in the proper perspective with this brilliant question when the Toronto police were showing the guns, including a Mac-11, gathered in the takedown of the Crips gang.

"How did the police feel about predominately white police raiding a predominately black neighbourhood?"

Quebec's new gun law would make "gun clubs" responsible for "monitoring" it's "members".

So what constitutes a 'gun club' ??

Against a powerful job protection lobby, here is some indication of progress by Harper and Minister of Transport, L. Cannon.
=====================

Thank you for your correspondence to the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, regarding the idling of trucks at rest stops. The Minister has asked me to reply on his behalf.

Minister Cannon appreciates being made aware of your concerns and has noted your comments.
The federal government is committed to building and maintaining a safe and secure, efficient and environmentally responsible transportation system in Canada, with the support of the other levels of government and all Canadians.

The ecoTRANSPORT Strategy is part of the Government of Canada's agenda to protect our environment and the health of Canadians and to increase Canada's economic prosperity.

Initiatives announced to date include the ecoFREIGHT Program, which features steps to reduce the environmental and health effects of freight transportation through technology. These steps include the following:

* addressing regulatory barriers to reducing fuel use and emissions by trucks;
* establishing a Freight Technology Demonstration Fund;
* providing cost-shared funding for the purchase and installation of proven technologies;
* building industry partnerships; and
* supporting up to four pilot projects to demonstrate the installation and use of shore-based power for marine vessels in Canadian ports.

For more information on ecoFREIGHT initiatives, or for details about plug-ins and electrification, I would invite you to visit the following Transport Canada website:
www.tc.gc.ca/programs/environment/ecotransport/menu.htm.

Natural Resources Canada is responsible for the ecoENERGY for Fleets Program, which was announced in February 2007. I have therefore taken the liberty of forwarding a copy of your e-mail and report to the office of the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, for consideration.

I trust that the foregoing has addressed your concerns. Again, thank you for writing.

Yours truly,

Richard Stryde
Senior Special Assistant
c.c. Office of the Honourable Gary Lunn, P.C., M.P.

From the 'Dr. Dolt' department: a study that claims to prove that taxpaying can be a source of psychic pleasure.

Here's the protocol used: Subjects were given $100, and some of this gift was extracted from their paycheque and sent to the local food bank. This redistribution of the gift meant that the the subjects' "caudate nucleus and the nucleus accumbens — lit up during the taxation test," which means that they liked the effect.

O-o-o-kay. The docs have now established that people rather like the redistribution of free money that evidently grew on trees. They evidently think that this set-up approximates the world of earning money.

I suppose the grant mo-sheen in the United States will be munificent enough to provide funding for a repeat of this same experiment, with a slight modification to its procedure so as to more closely approximate in vivo conditions:

Subjects will be paid $100 after ten hours of mowing the campus lawns, after which an arbitrary but fixed amount will be deducted from their paycheck and sent to the local food bank.

For purposes of detecting any socio-economic bias, the subjects shall be divided into three cohorts: 'ordinary people', graduate students, and tenured professors.

Afghan, Coalition Forces Kill More Than 24 Enemy Fighters
American Forces Press Service ^

WASHINGTON, June 15, 2007 – Coalition and Afghan forces have killed and detained more than two dozen enemy fighters in operations in Afghanistan over the past two days, U.S. officials said. Afghan and coalition forces killed “a few” militants and detained three others early today in an operation against Taliban forces at a compound in the Shahjoy district of Zabul province.

During the brief firefight that resulted in the enemy casualties, two civilians were caught in the crossfire. A teenage boy died at the scene, and a younger boy was evacuated to a coalition medical facility.

“Coalition and Afghan forces strive to avoid civilian injuries and are saddened by the loss of life,” said Army Maj. Chris Belcher, a Combined Joint Task Force 82 spokesman. “But, when extremists insist on hiding among civilians, as they clearly were here, they are abusing the kindness of their hosts and putting innocents at risk.”

The coalition forces in this operation were acting on credible intelligence that indicated the compound was sheltering local Taliban facilitators of foreign fighters. After the engagement, local villagers confirmed the enemy fighters killed at the scene were Taliban militants.

In other news from Afghanistan, enemy fighters attacked a group of Afghan National Police and coalition forces on patrol three kilometers north of Putay, in the Sangin district of Helmand province yesterday. ...-

Children snatched off the streets to work as slaves

More than 1,000 children may have been kidnapped and sold into slave labour in a brutal human trafficking ring that has shocked and outraged China.

The children, some as young as 8, worked in brick kilns for 16 hours a day with meagre food rations. They were guarded by fierce dogs and thugs who beat their prisoners at will.

Many were abducted right off the streets of cities in the region and sold to factories and mines for as little as 400 yuan (£27). The unfolding scandal, involving negligent law enforcement and even collusion between government officials and slave masters, burst into the open this week.

Horrified Chinese have followed the stark, uncensored images of the slaves on television as they were rescued by police. Some children still wore their school uniforms. ...-

Thanks for that Free Republic link. I'm reading the article right now, and am already having some of my own suspicions confirmed.

That's a lot more hard-hitting than I've been to the left, even in my own head. The phrase I've privately used to describe this phenomenon was "living on a bluff." (Originally said by a British post-Victorian, Silver Age Imperialist - "We are living on a bluff.")

Liberals close discussions to media

Quebec Wing expects hot debate. Morale looks as low as party's popularity
ELIZABETH THOMPSON, The Gazette
[...]

Party officials said the move is being taken because they want the rank and file from across Quebec who gather in Drummondville to be able to have a frank discussion. However, party insiders and veteran observers said Liberal brass appear to fear that discussion at the meeting - the first of its kind in Quebec since Stephane Dion became leader - risks being too frank for comfort.

Dion claims early victory

The Liberal leader credits his caucus with fending off a Tory bid to force a spring election.
[...]

"Their plan was to rush Canadians to an election and to become a majority government," said Dion. "We have succeeded to make sure that the government's plan would fail."

Despite repeated accusations from Prime Minister Stephen Harper that Dion was lusting for a quick return to power, he professed concerns over the prospect of an election before the party had a chance to reorganize under its new leader.

"I was thinking the timing was not good, but we would have been ready," he said. "And God knows what would have happened, because it's an election.

"Their plan failed because we were able to show they are incompetent, dishonest and very right-wing, not moderate," he said. "Now they don't know how to figure out what to do." ...-
