What Michael Moore's Sicko doesn't talk about.

http://newsbloggers.aol.com/2007/06/23/beyond-sicko/

I hope we won't have to hear MSM whine and cry about the inhumanity of Ali's exit to Islamic Heaven.

The carping about Saddam Hussein's hanging and the "indignity" inflicted on him was quite repugnant. They weren't dealing with anyone who could qualify as "human" were they? Yeah, every life is precious, even mass murderers.

As I've always said, if you don't like capital punishment, change the channel. There are some who will carry out the necessary deed.

The Demoralization 'comments' still down.

So telling. Universities, Media, Public school system, Hollywood ---- and with a little help from the KGB.

A 'how-to-guide' on destroying individual thought and democracy.

Horrors of horrors. The SUN has something to do with earth's climate!!!

"What the sun does, rather than what man does with his carbon dioxide emissions, is what chiefly causes climate change, said Patterson. "

"The second goal was far more devastating. It came with a book just published by Henrik Svensmark, director of the Centre for Sun Climate Research at the National Space Centre in Copenhagen. He calls it The Chilling Stars: A New Theory on Climate Change.

Like Patterson and the Russians, Svensmark contends the sun is a major factor in climate change, but he has been working for eight years to back this up with experimental proof.
"
http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/Columnists/Byfield_Ted/2007/06/24/4285924-sun.html

Imagine that. That big ball of nuclear fusion in the sky, that produces more heat in 1 second than the Earth can use in a 1000 years, might have some effect on Earth's climate! Mother Nature(not to mention the Goracle,Fruitfly, etc.) will be soooooo mad that they can't control nature.

Enemy Casualty Rate Skyrockets!

That's right, 90 dead al-Qaeda fighters in one day! When, we inquired with Top Men at the Pentagon to congrat.....er....uh....concerned about the high number of casualties among the enemy. We were told,....

"During these operations, you can expect seriously high numbers enemy deaths. We take every precaution to avoid having people, who are trying to kill us, left alive. Then, having to go back and kill them later. It's just not an efficient use of the taxpayers money.

Seriously we did kill a pretty nice pile of Jihadis.

Via Yahoo News: BAQUBA, Iraq (Reuters) - U.S. and Iraqi forces say they have killed 90 al Qaeda fighters around Baghdad during one of the biggest combined offensives against the Sunni Islamist group since the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Seven U.S. soldiers were killed in roadside bomb attacks in and around the capital on Saturday, underscoring a warning from military commanders that U.S. casualties are likely to mount as more troops are put in harm's way.

U.S. air strikes on Saturday killed seven suspected al Qaeda fighters in Tikrit in Salahuddin province and near the city of Falluja, west of Baghdad, the U.S.

What is the limit on Al-Qaeda and other species of Jihadis anyway? Oh I forgot, it's Open Season...-

China 'Bodies' Exhibit Raises Hackles Here

The bodies are coming, and with them some questions that will not go away. "Bodies ... The Exhibition,' featuring 15 full-body human corpses from China that have been preserved by a process called "plastination," is scheduled to open at The Carnegie Science Center in October for a seven-month run.

The cadavers are peeled of their skin and arranged in poses -- kicking a soccer ball, setting up a tennis serve -- alongside 200 other body parts and specimens, including embryos and fetuses from 9 to 32 weeks gestation, all plasticized.

It is one of three major traveling exhibits that have been drawing huge crowds around the world. But along with the exhibits' popularity have come ethical and religious concerns.

None of the people who once inhabited the bodies in Bodies gave their consent to be used this way, and that has made some folks profoundly uneasy. Their doubts are compounded by China's record of human rights abuses, including the harvesting of transplant organs from executed prisoners.

One opponent is Elaine Catz, an 11-year employee of the science center who resigned over "Bodies'' last week.

"We don't know how these people died or why they died, and I don't think Premier knows, either," she said, referring to the company, Premier Exhibitions of Atlanta, that is presenting the show. "Before we put our stamp of approval on it, there should be a high burden of proof on Premier.''

Premier says the corpses were unidentified or unclaimed, that every attempt was made to locate relatives before the bodies were turned over to police and then, through proper legal channels, to Premier's Chinese partners at Dalian Medical University's dissection and plastination operation......

"The experts performed more poorly than they would have done had they allocated forecasts at random. As an article on Tetlock by Louis Menand in The New Yorker put it: "Human beings who spend their lives studying the state of the world, in other words, are poorer forecasters than dart-throwing monkeys, who would have distributed their picks evenly over the three choices." Tetlock found that the more famous the commentators or forecasters, the more unreliable their forecasts."

What's new re the MSM and its sponsors/paypals? MSM is the same everywhere; sycophants of the socialist elites.

How bloggers revealed Royal's break-up

To some, it was simply unimportant tittle-tattle, to others it was yet more evidence of the sleaze and hypocrisy of the ruling elite.

Last week's announcement by Ségolène Royal, the former presidential candidate, that she was separating from her boyfriend François Hollande because of his infidelity was the latest in a series of scandals to hit France's political class.

But while the tales of secret lovers and illicit love-children have enthralled and appalled the French public in equal measure, the driving force behind such revelations has not been supermarket tabloids or France's respectful mainstream media.

Instead, it has been the work of les blogueurs, the country's new chattering class, whose discussions of their leaders' peccadilloes now threatens to undermine the country's notoriously strict privacy laws.

The break-up of Miss Royal's home, along with revelations of an extra-marital affair by Nicolas Sarkozy, her victorious rival in the presidential election last month, are but two examples of stories that have first found currency only on the web....-

It's interesting to me that Colombians are involved, it seems they recognize the threat of allowing the religion of peace to continue its pace.

An illegal act by Parliament. Gee whizzers, Sen'tur, I though that all acts of Parliament were a's'posed to be legal, they being the laws n'all. Nice to read that y'all have a fundamental difference with the good-boy view of Parliament's role.

Swedish Scientist Accuses UN's IPCC of Falsifying Data and Destroying Evidence

If you listen to the global warming alarmists working for the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or folks like soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore, sea levels across the globe are rising at a rate that will eventually doom us all.

According to Swedish paleogeophysicist Nils-Axel Mörner, who’s been studying and writing about sea levels for four decades, the scientists working for the IPCC have falsified data and destroyed evidence to incorrectly prove their point.

Mörner was recently interviewed by Gregory Murphy of Executive Intelligence Review, and began by making it clear that the sea level claims made by the IPCC are a lot of nonsense (emphasis added throughout, h/t Eduardo Ferreyra):

[...]
Yet, Mörner wasn’t finished, as he later detailed an incident when IPCC scientists actually destroyed evidence which refuted their rising sea level claims:

This tree, which I showed in the documentary, is interesting. This is a prison island, and when people left the island, from the '50s, it was a marker for them, when they saw this tree alone out there, they said, “Ah, freedom!” They were allowed back. And there have been writings and talks about this. I knew that this tree was in that terrible position already in the 1950s. So the slightest rise, and it would have been gone. I used it in my writings and for television. You know what happened? There came an Australian sea-level team, which was for the IPCC and against me. Then the students pulled down the tree by hand! They destroyed the evidence. What kind of people are those? And we came to launch this film, “Doomsday Called Off,” right after, and the tree was still green. And I heard from the locals that they had seen the people who had pulled it down. So I put it up again, by hand, and made my TV program. I haven't told anybody else, but this was the story....-

The converter :
Even the 400v to 12v DC to DC converter need not be connected to the drive current supply.

For accessory lights and battery charging. I would prefer an independent charger system because the converter needs to throw off a lot of wasted heat.

The function of the main breaker is the obvious safety device. Not so obvious is the inertia breaker in case of a collision accident. One more safety feature is the dash mount pull to open the main breaker via mechanical cable tripping.

Batteries
10 deep-cycle gellCell batteries = 120Vdc @ $120 each = $1200
[ Heavy, should do until light, Hi-density batteries are reasonable in price. ]

These are the main elements to consider before getting started. You can get full conversion kits and they generally start at $9K , [ without batteries], so if you go this route it will be a month or two before you break even on gas savings.

Chemical Ali: The end of an overlord

Ali Hassan al-Majid was the Heinrich Himmler of Iraq. After Saddam Hussein appointed him the all-powerful overlord of northern Iraq in March 1987 he oversaw the murder of more than 180,000 Kurds in just over a year. "The armed forces must kill any human being or animal present," he decreed.

It was for this crime of genocide against the Kurds that Majid, also known as "Chemical Ali", and two other defendants were yesterday sentenced to death by hanging by a court in Baghdad. A cousin of Saddam Hussein who had been a motorcycle dispatch rider, Majid acted as the zealous henchman of the Iraqi leader in many of his most notorious acts of cruelty and repression.

"You gave orders to the troops to kill Kurdish civilians and put them in severe conditions," said the judge, Mohammed Oreibi al-Khalifa, as he passed sentence on Majid. "You subjected them to wide and systematic attacks using chemical weapons and artillery. You led the killing of Iraqi villagers. You restricted them to their areas, burned their orchards, killed their animals. You committed genocide."

Sinister heaps of broken stones and bricks dot the Kurdish countryside marking the places where villages and hamlets were destroyed and 1.5 million Kurds killed or deported. Less easy to find are the mass graves all over Iraq filled with the bodies of men, women and children who were lined up and machine-gunned. The slaughter was not as all-embracing as Hitler's onslaught on Jews but it was comparable to mass killings of civilians committed by the Nazis in Poland, Ukraine and Russia or by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.

(57th Anniversary of Korean War; war photos)

Something to Remember on Korean War Memorial Day

JUNE 25, 2007 05:28

Today marks the 57th anniversary of the Korean War that ravaged the nation. Unfortunately, the war has long been forgotten among many Korean people, and misperceptions are prevalent among elementary school students in particular: Reportedly, one out of three elementary school students responded that the War took place in the Chosun Dynasty and one in five thinks the War was fought between Korea and Japan. There is little to blame on the children since even some adults insist that the War was first initiated by the South instead of the North.

In our history, there are things that should never be forgotten, and one of those things is the heroic sacrifice of our young men and women who fought to protect our freedom and peace. In addition, if it had not been for the honorable sacrifice of young Americans, British, Australians, New Zealanders, French, Canadians, South Africans, Turkish, Thais, Greeks, Dutch, Columbians, Ethiopians, Filipino, Belgians, and Luxemburgians, Korea would not be where it stands today.

Their names are engraved on a memorial in UN Memorial Park at Busan. The 40,895 names on the monument include the names of war dead and missing soldiers from 16 countries that sacrificed their men and women for our cause. On the world’s one and only UN memorial monument, we wrote, “We engrave your names in our hearts with love.” However, one cannot help but wonder – are we really paying back their death and sacrifice with love?

Many among the 16 nations experience difficulties. Ethiopia, which dispatched 6,000 soldiers and suffered 123 deaths, is the poorest nation in the world. Only 800 among the soldiers who survived the Korean War live today and none of them have escaped extreme poverty. A day before, KBS news reported an interview with a former Ethiopian soldier in his 80s who said, “I hope Korea can help at least one of my children so that he can earn money in Korea.”

Korea has offered a helping hand, though belatedly, with the KOICA building schools for the children of surviving soldiers. However, we still have a long way to go if we are to really pay back the help we received 57 years ago. We are not doing with Columbia and the Philippines any better. Korea’s level of official development assistance (ODA) to developing nations is the lowest among OECD member nations. What is more shameful is that we are not doing enough to help the nations and people we owe the most. We must remember that the times will no longer wait for us. ...-

National Post | Editorial: Harper’s lost opportunity

As a short-term political trade-off, we suppose the Tories’ legislation swap with the Liberal-dominated Senate is a fair deal: The Conservatives get their budget passed — without amendments to the new equalization formula demanded by Atlantic Canadian premiers and MPs — and the Liberals get a bill forcing the government to live up to Canada’s Kyoto commitments (sort of ). But the quid pro quo marks another missed opportunity for the Tories to win support in Ontario. And it is further evidence of how direction-less this minority government has become and how desperately a general election is needed....-
