I can just imagine the dismay of the guy who got the Harper head.
"Stephen who? From where?" "Gee, I always get stuck with the third-tier guys."

Military Applications Up: Hillier

The Canadian Armed Forces has received 35-thousand applications so far this year for enlistment.

Chief of Defence Staff General Rick Hillier says the military has been "106 per cent successful" in meeting its recruitment target to add more than 12-thousand people this spring.

Speaking at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference in Calgary this weekend, Hillier said the forces' enrolment process has been whittled from "years to days."

30 year cent of applicants are enrolled in five days. ...-

The left has allied with the Islamic terrorist/murderers. Now, the left has joined with Chavez/Venezuela.
Note the left's use of these words: "the democratically elected government of President Hugo Chávez."

Democracy is whatever the left decides it is. When the left arrives at its decision, there are no other choices. The left/socialist rule then becomes: Submit, or die; just as in Islam.

The curse it is cast

A number of British personalities, including journalist John Pilger wrote the Guardian to announce their support for Chavez's shutdown of opposition TV stations. "We believe that the decision of the Venezuelan government not to renew the broadcasting licence of RCTV when it expires on May 27 ... is legitimate given that RCTV has used its access to the public airwaves to repeatedly call for the overthrow of the democratically elected government of President Hugo Chávez." In a Democracy we have control of the Socialist movement, in Dictatorships it is the control.

The irony in our Democracy is the MSM has become the fifth column, constantly skewing the facts and spinning the news to manipulate opinion against our DEMOCRATICALLY elected Conservative government.

They are employing Banana Republic tactics to satisfy their own interests, to have their Liberal buddies back in power. We witness daily their vast vendetta against Harper because he will not tolerate their sleazy, sneaky tactics of playing gotcha games with the help of their accomplices in the Liberano fold.

Most responsible Canadians do not appreciate being taken for fools by the Media slags and we're well aware of what is going on. They are looking more and more like the desperate, stupid fools they are.

Anyone who watched CTV's QP with Oliver and Giggles lately will note extreme mischief and bias. Ditto Duffy and Newman.

They're so obvious and the kicker is they're stupid enough to think we don't notice. I suggest they take a real challenge and try smuggling the dawn past a rooster.

In other words: submit to Islam, or Islam will chop off your head. That is what Islamists do; beheading is their "blessed work". Remember, Islam is a religion of the beheading sword/scimitar .... swish.

Islamic Forum Confused About 12-Year Old Headchopper

One of the most depraved stories from the “holy warriors” recently was the video of a 12-year old boy hacking off the head of a helpless captive, with an audience shouting “Allahu Akbar!” Clicking the picture below will take you to Liveleak, where you can watch an edited (non-graphic) version. Even without showing the actual murder, it’s very disturbing.

Not only did this story get very little press, it was almost completely ignored by Islamic spokespeople throughout the world. Where was the outcry against this horrific perversion of childhood from the imams and the scholars and the sheikhs? Where were the articles and editorials in Arab media, condemning this evil?

Well, if there are Muslims horrified by this video, they’re certainly not posting comments at Islamic Networking. At the successor to ClearGuidance, they’re just a little confused. Does it hurt or help the ummah?

Dispatches From Iraq: Death or Glory Part I (latest Michael Yon)

In Iraq, I was allowed to accompany a British Army unit called “The Queen’s Royal Lancers,” whose motto is “Death or Glory.” It seems appropriate to tribute this dispatch to Her Majesty. And so I will take special care in the writing, on the chance that Her Majesty might read about her soldiers at war, as viewed through the eyes of an American.

British soldiers truly are fighting in Iraq. On three consecutive missions with three different British units, their soldiers killed roughly 40 enemy in combat action that also saw two British soldiers killed in action, and three wounded. The enemy apparently is attempting to paint a perception that the long-planned draw down of British soldiers in southern Iraq is actually the result of a successful "rout," and they are stepping up the tempo of attacks....-

Where/who are the "hungry" in Canada? "Food bank use on the rise"? "end hunger": total bs.

Create the need; then, supply it: the oldest type of marketing scam known to humanity. Think: booze/drug trade.

Note the cliche/dead words: "clarion call". Note the appeal to "government". Next step? A National Food Bank Authority, akin to National Day Care, complete with 5,879 bureauc-rats with 3,500 offices/outlets, perhaps next door to the "safe drug injection sites". Perfect conjunction; who could oppose compassion?

Petition being sent to PM to fight hunger

TORONTO (CP) - With food bank use on the rise in virtually every community across the country, the Canadian Association of Food Banks has drafted an online petition it hopes will be a clarion call to Ottawa to help end hunger in Canada. (canoe news)

Maybe the citizens in his home province know something :)

"Liberal leader Stephane Dion continues to see his popularity plummet in Quebec. A new Leger marketing poll reveals he's the fourth most popular leader in this province. When asked who would make the best prime minister, only 12 per cent of Quebecers said Dion, whereas 16 per cent said NDP leader Jack Layton and Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe. Prime Minister Stephen Harper was way ahead with 36 per cent."

Gotta love Scott Reid:

http://www.thestar.com/News/article/221169

Fall election. Oh baby, oh baby. Grits are going to force Harper's hand with triad of "policies:" Tax cut for middle class, proclamation of Kyoto compliance bill, and firm "commitment" to remove troops from Kandahar by 2009.

Problem for Grits. Their moribund leader is nowhere on personal ratings. Reid may feel Canadians care about these issues (Afghan he says is a bit of a problem, but, oh well, we'll just piss off some soldiers). Actually the public don't care about anything remotely political right now, but mid to late Sep would be beautiful timing for Tories, with their leader miles ahead in personal popularity, coming out with new actionable priorities, with Grits creating fantasy of Tory "cardboard ship" listing; no doubt referring to their usurpation of Parliament using committees and an obstructionist Senate.

I doubt Dion has parts to take Reid's advice. Either way, Anyway, Harper should force election. So what if Scott thinks this is his engame trap.

Scott, this is better than beer and popcorn. Keep up the good work!

The True Genesis of Amnesty International
Claudio Veliz

THE HIGH TIDE of the Cold War concealed vastly more than fanciful antics by KGB agents, and it is unlikely that we will ever know how many quiet initiatives originally designed to divide, influence, distract or, ultimately, to overcome resistance to the communist onslaught escaped detection at the time and will remain hidden forever. Some probably failed ingloriously, and most of those that succeeded at first were later crushed under the rubble of the Berlin Wall, but a few survived the Soviet debacle and went on to prosper in its aftermath, and of these, Amnesty Inter-national must be counted among those that most convincingly went on to flourish after managing the difficult transition with suitable adroitness. Only three years have passed since 2004 when the fiftieth birthday of its governing idea should have been celebrated and it is meet and just, albeit belatedly, to throw light on its true origins and rescue from obscurity the name of its real begetter. ...-

Brian Mulroney tapped for board seat at Blackstone

Former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney is stepping up as a director in Blackstone Group Management LLC, the powerhouse U.S. private equity fund that is about to go public.

New York-based Blackstone announced Monday that Mr. Mulroney, aged 68, is nominated as one of three independent directors at Blackstone, which is planning an IPO that will value the firm at $33-billion (U.S.). Blackstone announced last month that a Chinese government agency will take a $3-billion stake in the company, while public investors are expected to purchase up to $4.1-billion in stock. ...-

Chinese cosmetics firm using skin from executed prisoners (2005)

A Chinese cosmetics company is using skin harvested from the corpses of executed convicts to develop beauty products for sale in Europe, an investigation by the Guardian has discovered.

Agents for the firm have told would-be customers it is developing collagen for lip and wrinkle treatments from skin taken from prisoners after they have been shot. The agents say some of the company's products have been exported to the UK, and that the use of skin from condemned convicts is "traditional" and nothing to "make such a big fuss about." ...-

Listened to all the naysayers on PMSH speech and climate plan. I wonder what would happen if our PM took, word for word, the liberal plan (they said they had one) and gave a speech on it, would the same naysayers be all over him as it was useless, not on target blah, before they realized he was repeating the great Dion's plan. Would be fun to find out. I think PMSH's plan is getting some respect in Europe, and getting rid of the UN and Mo's plan to get rich with carbon trading is great. How will the msm react if Harper gets all countries on side.

PRIME MINISTER STEPHEN HARPER ANNOUNCES JOINT INITIATIVES WITH EUROPEAN UNION LEADERS

Kyoto lives on; PM Harper has said so.

"How will the msm react if Harper gets all countries on side."

That's easy MaryT, they will blame it on Bush, who intimidated those poor European leaders, the one who made sure they were in compliance with Kyoto before they ever signed, with Harper as his stunt double.

Even if we help the environment and show international leadership, that is unacceptable because we aren't bashing the Americans, calling them bastards for having a better emission record than us. Leadership is results; Canada at 2% or worldwide emissions can do nothing itself. With leadership and a proper plan, Canada can punch way above its weight. What a scary thought to Liberals.

What about China's response to Kyoto the next? It's not their fault, those dirty western nations caused the problem. What an infantile argument, devoid of leadership. If climate change is such a concern and imminent danger, what difference does it make where it started?

If China intends to burn coal, it would be in their interests to develop clean non-carbon technologies. They won't, however, we will have to do it. If we impoverish ourselves by shutting down our industrialization, and/or destroy our wealth by shipping off money for credits, then pollution, all of it, will get worse and worse.

China alone will vastly outdo even full Kyoto compliance. Where is Al Gore with his "the earth has a fever" when discussion turns to soon-to-be top emitter China? Nowhere, that's where. Does anyone think Chairman Mo, ensconsed as he is in China, will expect or get any concessions there?

Britain pulls plug on Al’s big climate change show (Live Earth power stunt)

Times UK ^ | 6/3/07 | Maurice Chittenden
IT WAS intended to be the symbolic gesture at a global series of rock concerts next month to alert people to climate change. Al Gore, the former US presidential candidate turned climate doomsayer, had wanted a massive switch-off of lights by television audiences, but the National Grid has vetoed the idea. The inconvenient truth, it says, is that the power surge when people switched their lights back on could cause disruptions in supply and even endanger hospital patients on life support machines. Live Earth will be a series of concerts, modelled on Live Aid and and Live 8, aimed at...-
