And the "danger of trusting anything that a journalist says about a legal proceeding".
Add to that "anything that a journalist says about gun crime statistics, or the atmosphere, or the mission in Afghanistan, or critics of the mission in Afghanistan, or White House employees or...."

That's why we come here for news Kate. ~:D
There has been a common degeneration in both the political agenda and the media in western democracies since the 60s.
I belive it is hitting a tipping point where a massive civil backlash will occur. For 50 years we have been "preached to" by media and politicians alike as we see their percieved rolls change from servants of the public will to manipulators of the public trust.
Part of it can be explained away by the errant orthodoxy of transnationalist progressivism being adopted by politicos and corporate media editors and thus embuing our elected officials and media with their own political agendas instead of the public majortity.
But beyond this dystopian progressivist axe grinding, I think the 3rd and 4th estates are beginning to like manipulation rather than reflecting public values.
Exactly Phantom,,,,
I have come to the conclusion you can't trust a journalist with nothing, no way, no how !
You know, long ago, right before our 1st Civil War the American Press was pushing the Slavery Issue as the probable cause, not completely true, when Folks down South got tired of the North manipulating the currency they started printing their own money " The Confederate Note " within 6 months the North and South were at War.
I reckon my point is Kate is right, ya can't trust a Presstitute !
