The achievements of founding fathers, entrepeneurs, pioneers, war veterans, and so on are about to be undone for something that would surely make our ancestors' jaws drop in shame at how easily we have given up all that they fought and worked so hard for.

Last night a friend of mine was telling me what it was like in the former USSR. Kazakhstan. He worked for a mining company, just after Perestroika, in the early 90s.

He said many locals still believed citizens in other counties, even Canada and the US, were worse off than they we're. No wonder. They had been told that all their lives.

However, many were quickly finding out the truth, partly because of the Internet.

I asked him what their reaction was to realizing they had been duped. He used words like; Angry, pissed-off, livid, furious.

And how could this misinformation be so widespread and so long lasting ??

Simple. Pravda and Tass. Sound familiar ??

Demographics and history cannot be denied.

Whites are a minority of the world population. Whites are reproducing at a slower rate than any other race. Migration of humans all over the globe is routine due to advances in transportation. An ocean is not much of a separation barrier any more.

Europe and its white offspring (US, Canada, Oz) cannot control the race of their citizens, even if a moratorium was put on all immigration today. Economics simply will not permit this.

History shows that no system of government or national organization lasts forever. City-states are gone, colonial empires are gone, and nation states will go. We are probably heading for continent-states: Europe and North America are the two obvious ones, probably other blocs will form in Asia and in the middle east/North Africa, and South/Central Africa.

These will be multiethnic and probably not governed in a manner that we regard as truly democratic. Much like the European parliament now - a very bureaucratic organization with only the semblance of democracy, but real power wielded by the inner circle mandarins.

It sounds depressing. I know I don't want it, since I belong to that privileged 1% or less of the world's citizens, and I don't want to share my luck, or want my children to have to share their luck in being born here. However, the status quo is not going to stay forever. It seems inevitable that either we destroy ourselves in an orgy or religiously and racially driven wars, or we homogenize our societies to include all of the world's citizens.

So when do whites get to be a visible minority? or is that only reserved for the majority of non-whites?

Mexico has always been a thorn in the side of the United States. Names like Santa Anna and Pancho Villa are familiar to American historians who study America-Mexico relationships. The Americans have to once again reinforce their borders as they have done in the past, and remove, forcibly if necessary any illegals that dare to sneak into the US. In France, USA and Australia, there is a growing backlash against uncontrolled immigration, and it will soon come to Canada as well. When a group sees the writing on the wall, its first instinct is to survive with whatever force is necessary. To avoid any problems such as civil war in its various forms, immigration may well have to be severely limited for the western nations to survive.

When I last checked it is all a one way street, with all manner of economic refugees scaling the walls to get into developed countries, (read – western democratic), but they are so bucking stupid that once they get here they get homesick and want to change the country into something more familiar. There is a clear distiction between predictions based on inadequate scientific theories and those based on demographics.

Peter, what's your point? I'm not saying that I want Canada replaced by a multicultural mix in which whites are a minority. I'm not saying that Canada is better off with all the immigration we have. And I'm not disagreeing that crime in the major cities is at least partially a racial/cultural issue.

If I could control Canadian immigration policy, I would halt all immigration from Africa, middle east, much of Asia, and eliminate refugee intake and family re-unification.

But it's not up to me. Or you. or any small group. I'm saying that there's not much we can do about it in a democracy where it's one vote one person and where the rule of law still exists. We can't vote to put Canada behind a barbed wire fence, we can't vote to deport all immigrants, and we can't legislate a "Western culture".

I presume you are the kind of person who would regard legislation of business or education as folly of the highest order. You would say, I think, "let market forces sort it out". Well the same is true for direction of migration and population makeup of a nation. You can't legislate the ethnic composition of Canada, and you can't change the fact that if 50% of the population breeds twice as fast as theother 50% of the population, in a couple of generations there will no longer be a 50/50 split.

No one doubts Pat Buchanan spins in his own orbit, but whether you agree with him or not, he does have the ear of an awful lot of people, and that awful lot of people have influence on how North America advances day by day. Don't shoot the messenger if you don't like the message. The content of Buchanan's post is worthy of serious discussion, because the demographic shifts he documents, for better or worse, is going to impact the life of your kids, and there will be precious little you will be able to do about it. If societal changes are necessary to adapt, now's the time to be talking about it.

I am very uncomfortable with the responses and assumptions of some here on this topic, Mexicans are not all lazy and Latinos are not all gang members any more than Whites are racist rednecks.

Pat Buchanan, though not one of my favourite people, has the same message as Steyn, David Foote of Boom, Bust and Echo and other analysts of demographics. As noted by other posters these are real figures stating how things really are, not hypothetical theories. The question is what are we going to do about it?

The recent shooting in Toronto is another example of demographics. The media and leftists, like our mayor, wring their hands and blame everyone except themselves. The real story in this case is told by a former teacher of the school, Sandra Fusco. She writes about how intruders walk freely through the school, threaten teachers with physical violence forcing her to personally call the police as the office staff would do nothing, students throw desks and textbooks at teachers, male students surrounded a female teacher taunting her by yelling "Suck my dick" and on and on. The vast majority of these people are black as was the, typically illegitimate, kid shot. In her view the blame for this lies with school boards, apathetic administrators, complacent teachers and the parents who fail to provide the basic ethics and morals of decency and respect for others. If there is no discipline or support teachers give up and the students run the school.

This same leftist mentality of always trying to compromise and backing down when faced with aggression, making rules then weakening them as McSquinty is doing with the zero tolerance one leads to a dying society, rotting from within. Extrapolate this one example to Caledonia, now Hagersville, illegal immigration and refugees. As Fusco noted the good teachers burn out and leave. As do the whites in California fleeing from the gang wars and disintegrating society.

IMO its not whites good, non-whites bad, its a cultural thing. I think Canada is one of the best countries in the world and feel priviledged to have been born here. Zip, the immigrants of that era were almost all Europeans whether they were Catholics or Jews. They came by boat in an orderly manner by invitation, not in hordes overrunning our borders. -Convict, fine and jail Big Business employers of illegal labour.
-No amnesty ever. Period. End of sentence.
-Make English the sole official language.
-Eliminate the "anchor-baby" loophole, where American-born children of illegals automatically become citizens.
-Set Puerto Rico free. The future possibility of PR statehood is the Trojan Horse of complete Hispanicization of the US.
-Reduce legal immigration by 90%.
-Recognize Mexico for what it is: an enemy state bent on radically changing the ethno-linguistic makeup of the US, with revisionist claims to the entire Southwest quarter of the country.

Let's see... said original *Irish* comment was made and signed by a *Murphy*. Being of a Murphy lineage myself I immediately recognized the statement for it's intended self-deprecating observation. It WAS a joke.
