Calgary girls did so much to promote their city as a wild and fun place to visit during the Flames' drive to the Stanley Cup finals. Just google "flamesgirls" to get an idea of the atmosphere on the Red Mile in Calgary during that wild time (sorry, links would be definitely unsafe for work, so no links).
Now that Ottawa is in their own drive for the cup and starting to party I thought I'd get my digital camera out and do some original reporting.
I know people have this misconception that somehow Ottawa is a boring stuffy place populated mainly with bureaucrats whose idea of fun is dreaming up new ways to spend our money and tell us how to live our lives. But I thought I'd trudge over from nearby Gatineau and snap some Sensgirls pics, so you'd have some evidence that Sensgirls are having just as much fun as those Flamesgirls were.

I'm cheering for Anaheim. Sorry, but if the cup winds up in the U.S. it'll be closer to Alberta than it ever possibly could be in Ottawa.

I'm not much of a hockey fan, but having lived in the lifeless, uptight, arrogant, civil-servant-infested wasteland that is downtown Ottawa, I have to say: GO DUCKS!!!!
btw, the thought of "sensgirls" is stomach-turning for anyone who has seen the average Ottawa woman...florescent lights, days spent behind civil service desks, and 90 minute expense account lunches don't help...
I'm not feeling the love here, guys. I know out it's out there, but I'm just not feeling it. After all those helpful services cheerfully provided by your loyal civil servants I thought for sure I'd be feeling the love for 'em.

Kevin Jaeger - it is in the NAME - a Duck is a Duck and by any other name it is still a duck. Senators......not so much - it reminds many of us of another team of overpaid, over fed, ornaments of this country who are lolling around in taxpayers $$$.
Didn't the Liberanos kick a few brown envelopes into the benches of the Ottawa Senator's Hockey Club too? I seem to remember being disgusted about that some time ago...well the Liberanos did so many rotten things in so short a time....I could not keep track.
As for me and my house - we will be cheering for the Quacks this time! The Flames are the team I would have liked to see win. The Flames would have won the cup had they not taken the Hemlock of the Liberano's and put a Flames shirt on Paul Martin. They cozied up to the enemy, dosed the fire, lost their edge, and lost the Stanly Cup! I had to vote for the Tampa Bay Boys who won me a few $$. I hope both Senator 'teams' are toast, soon!!
