And don't forget:

Hagen Daas!

HOOKSETT, N.H. – Two town employees fired for gossiping about their boss have lost an appeal to get their jobs back.

Four women were fired in April after a closed-door vote of the Town Council. Two administrative assistants appealed their firings earlier this month, but Jessica Skorupski and Joanne Drewniak learned late Friday night that the council had rejected their bid to be reinstated.

“I was not surprised at all. I didn't think they would give us our jobs back,” Skorupski said Saturday. “Their minds were made up even before we had the hearing.”

According to a lawyer's fact-finding report, the women lost their jobs because one of them referred to the town administrator in derogatory terms, and because they discussed a rumor that he was having an affair with another female employee.

The women say they neither started nor spread the rumor, merely questioned why another employee seemed to be getting preferential treatment. No one has said there is any truth to the rumor.

She still thinks she is oh, so important,! I am suprised she left her Riverdale ghetto to go walkies.

And you missed Antoniaz's final comment, Kate:

27/05/2007 12:27:56 PM report this post | ground rules
Thanks, but where did that come from?

In any case, I have developed rhino skin in my job. Sad but true. (This unfortunately has made me less than sensitive in other areas of my life.) I think one of the reasons I relate to Rosie's situation is that, on a much smaller scale, I have been on the receiving end of the same sort of attacks. You need only Google me to find them.

Some people will twist whatever you say in their attempts to discredit your message -- which is what happed (to a large extent) with Rosie. If you could see what people write about my private parts -- as if they had political affiliations -- you would be shocked.

[back to me]

they looked good behind bars . . suits them.

Looks like the "Rosie" syndrome to me Kate.

Plump, frowsy middleaged frump turned liberal partisan works new video media as lib-left gossip and blabber mouth...I'm sure with her new Rosie" persona and the daytime time slot AZ will be the toast of trailer park housewives across CBC's tundra land broadcast coverage.

Kate, elsewhere you wrote, "The rest of you: if you don't like what Buchanan wrote, then critique his piece on its merits. ie: prove his facts are incorrect. Calling someone a "bigot" is cheap namecalling, and generally the tool of the person who has no logical argument at his disposal."

True enough. Yet, how is this thread any more defensible? I'm no fan -- let alone apologist -- of Ms. Zerbasias' writings, and I couldn't care less if you trash her work here. But as you yourself suggest, why not do so "on its own merits"? Why settle instead for such obvious mean-spiritedness? Yes, you don't go as far as overt name-calling, but your post (and your lone commentary of "Warning: disturbing images") still strike me as more ad hominem mockery than substantive critique.

We've all heard of shadenfreude, but is there a German word for "taking a perverse delight in the discovery that someone else's life is even more boring than yours"?

Cuz I have that now.

A'dam - get with the program.

Through the simple act of linking to Pat Buchanan, I was immediately called "racist bigot KKKate".

So, if you're going to draw that post against this one in some weak wristed attempt at comparison, you really ought to be calling me a "rock-hard stupid conspiracy-mongering slob of a Star columnist".

In fact, please do.

Wrong link, Kate.

Here's the right link to the photo of the Zerbian Pig.

"but is there a German word for "taking a perverse delight in the discovery that someone else's life is even more boring than yours"?"

Schadenfrump?

Kate - I read your description of "one person speaking back". How is this post relevant to your mandate?

K.

It's relevant by the fact that this is her blog and she wishes to speak her mind.

Actually, I just decided that I like Hagenfreude better.

Sean: how bout "frumpenfreude"

...literaly translated the joys of the "frumpiness"..or what amuses dull unattractive women in their tiny microcosm

...which in this case is running down sexually active/attractive women, gossiping, taking poopsie for walkies and gorfing down craploads of greasy grilled sausages...all the joys of "frumphood" on display as "entertainment" for the special interest "frump" audience...or sold as "witty" commentary in the Star and CBC ;-)

So, if you're going to draw that post against this one in some weak wristed attempt at comparison, you really ought to be calling me a "rock-hard stupid conspiracy-mongering slob of a Star columnist".

The comparison I was drawing wasn't between that post and this one, it was between what you claimed you want SDA threads to look like and what you yourself engage in (and thus allow) here. You say that name-calling is cheap and that arguments should be logical and focused on substance, yet this post is little more than an invitation for your readers to trash Zerbasias (you even take a shot at her physical appearance yourself). Now, obviously it's your blog, so you can post whatever you like. But as the author, you also set the tone for the resulting commentary. Take a look at the tenor of comments that this post has inspired. "Zerbian pig"? "Frumpenfreude"? Is this really the level of "discussion" you'd like SDA to be known for?

A'dam, what are you Head Nun or something?

Lapooning public figures, especially one as idiotic as Zerbasias, is fair game.

Lighten up.

Calling someone a "pig" is lampooning?
Just plain nastiness without any wit.

No, it isn't.

Exposing the idiotic online comments and juvenile stalking behavior by a woman who inexplicably continues her employment writing for the Toronto Star, is.

oink

KaffeeKlatching about Rosie on the CBC with ANTONIAZ in her LuluLemons

www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvOlNqML3EE

Pretty funny, Antona talking about her privacy, when she's spreading smear and gossip in her posts. She doesn't see the irony in all this, does she???

My God!-
As always these types who love to dish it out, reveal private matters about other folks private lives but think absolutely nothing of supporting the likes of what has been coming out of Rose O'Donnell.. ( she just cannot be a 'Rosie' anymore she has turned altogether too vicious!)
But, of course, this is all it takes when it is one's own opinion that is all that counts and trashing anyone and everyone who disagrees with you becomes an obsession best left to actually fighting those who would erase our rights to do just that!
Hail and Hearty and Good on ya, Kate.

The 'frumpen-freudling' socialists doth protest too much me thinks.
OINK OINK OINK!
I think you hit a nerve..down deep under all that sausage flab.
Zerbz gets hiked on her own pitard so to speak...complete with apple in mouth.
Utterly Hilarious!!
After all what good is a blog without a good laugh.
Thanks Kate.
ROTFL!!

Re: update

I laughed....so...hard...great post Kate!

She is one of those lefties like Rosie who cry persection whenever someone dares oppose their opinions, why are lefties such crybabies??
and I would not call this blog ultra conservative either.

"Or one of us gave me up. It is the latter possibility that disturbs me the most." - ANTONIAZ

"I should like to know who betrayed me. It is incredible that it should have been one of my own girls." - Miss Jean Brodie

Absolute classic, Kate! I didn't even realize that Fat Tony was posting at a Weight Watchers site until the Hissy Fit Update.

Paige's Mom: "Sorry, I am confused - are you a public figure... "

Indeed.

Fat Tony: "But here's the thing: Somebody went to a lot of trouble to ferret out this board. A lot of trouble."

Yes, they typed G-O-O-G-L-E and your big rump showed up.

Hilarious! You malicious, evil, right wing, hate mongering, vicious leader of a pack of winged monkeys.)
You'd think that someone had read her diary! OOPs! Or tapped her phone or opened her mail!

Too funny, she now considers herself Canada's Arianna Huffington

"I have just returned from listening to Arianna Huffington speak to a rapt audience of some 5,000 women. Her talk was about how we allow ourselves to be ruled by that vicious inner critic or, as she put it, ''that obnoxious roommate in our head.'' It attacks us for our looks, our choices, our actions, our everything.

She says women should be fearless, and stand up for what they want and what they believe in. I agree -- and have always followed that path, making a very comfortable life for myself in the process.

I have been criticized and hung out to dry before, publicly and privately, for my beliefs and my body. For some reason, I let it get to me today.

It's been an interesting lesson in how women can be their worst enemies. (BTW: The two most vicious bloggers in Canada are women.)

Anyway, it ain't gonna happen anymore. I will continue to post here, as myself. I will however be more circumspect about what I say."

"The two most vicious bloggers in Canada are women."

Meaning we're not Bush-bashing, 9-11 conspiracy mongering, physics challenged lesbians who long to some day be as respected as Robert McClelland.

It attacks us for our looks, our choices, our actions, our everything.
Didn't Zerb insult Michelle Malkin over Michelle's appearance re. child-bearing not having been kind to Michelle's figure? Or am I not allowed to bring that up as being part of Zerb's private life?

("The two most vicious bloggers in Canada are women."

That made coffee come right out my nose, OW!
2 2 FUNNY

I'm still waiting for the troll invasion.

Could someone fill me (a non-Canadian) on what exactly is so funny about these posts by Ms. Zerbasias? I know she is a tiresome leftist Canadian columnist, but I can't figure out why these particular posts are offensive, unless it's the revelation of Carol MacNeil's (whoever that is) affair, but from the way Zerbasias talks about it so freely it sounds as if that affair is public knowledge and therefore a reference to it no more offensive than a public reference to Bill Clinton's or Rudy Giuliani's affairs would be.
Maybe it would help if I knew what Lulu Lemon pants are. Are they for fat people? If that is the whole point of this post, the post is not offensive, but still pretty dumb IMHO.

The funniest part of those threads are the comments urging the woman better known as "Notice Me!" to change "AntoniaZ" to something more anonymous to "protect" her identity.

Lululemon is trendy line of yoga pants.

Their fat line is called "Luluwatermelon."

They're called "stretch" pants because they have to.

I have a great sense of humour. I don't have a problem attacking her politics, or pointing out her conversations at Weight Watchers.

I do think you crossed the line with the commentary on her physique. I don't care what she looks like on the outside.

It is what she has articulated that is important, but then again she works for the Toronto Star. How seriously can it be taken?

I'd better be that other "vicious" female blogger she mentioned, cuz if she means someone else I'll be pissed off!

Regardless, I'd rather be "vicious" than a liberal 9/11 conspiracy dupe hack writer any day.

Note that snarky "Kate is young and attractive, but SHE'LL learn..." What grim, bitter, jealous words.

Meaning we're not Bush-bashing, 9-11 conspiracy mongering, physics challenged lesbians who long to some day be as respected as Robert McClelland.

LOL and no small part of why I'm here.

-------------------------------------------
James Kabala I would guess that it's because she's ruining peoples private lives then complaining that her secret identity is exposed.

I'm sure Rosie is happy to have the almighty Zerb protecting her reputation. I am a bit in awe at AZ's self stroking ego. Anyone tell her that more people have heard of her from Kate's blog than her column?

"But here's the thing: Somebody went to a lot of trouble to ferret out this board. A lot of trouble."

Maybe the excessive detective work came from Kate foolishly looking at her star article.
http://www.thestar.com/article/188926

I like how your personal attacks are quotes.

Now if only the left had kept their personal attacks of Preston to quotes.

"KaffeeKlatching about Rosie on the CBC with ANTONIAZ in her LuluLemons
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvOlNqML3EE"

I was trying to remain detached and respectful in reading this thread, but then you sent me to that awful video and now all I can think of is ad hominems. Are those four losers really representative of intelligent commentary on Canadian television? Vacuous doesn't begin to describe it.

"What grim, bitter, jealous words."

What a brilliant idea!

Grimm's Peanut Butter.

Peanut butter? I don't even know her!

Are we going to hear more about the screwing? The CBC management sex scandal I mean?

Oh come on people, that's what we are really looking for here, in commentsville, aren't we?

Fat Tony who?

"Oh come on people, that's what we are really looking for here, in commentsville, aren't we?"

I came here looking for that hot, young chick that Fat Tony said runs Small Dead Animals.

I find it very tiresome that nobody's always post about somebody's?

Just for 'sake of argument' ---Kate ---when was the last time you were on National TV?

Ya thought so.
