At least one IPCC lead author appears to be trying to cash in on concern over climate change. With the help of several University of Arizona faculty members, including
one prominent IPCC contributor, a company called Climate Appraisal, LLC is selling address specific climate predictions looking out as far as the next 100 years. Call me a skeptic or a cynic but I’m pretty sure that the science of climate change hasn’t advanced to the point of providing such place-specific information. In fact, I’d go so far as to suggest that if such information were credible and available, it’d already be in the IPCC. The path from global consensus to snake oil seems pretty short.

Ha! Sure, you can produce place-specific forecasts. No problem. Pay me enough and I’ll give you one. The cost will be less to forecast 100 years from now than for next year because neither you nor me will be around in 100 years.
I once did some work for a Large Petroleum Company offshore of Newfoundland. They had paid a large amount for site-specific weather forecasts, this for a 5-day or 10-day period. The predictions were for clear weather. The reality was dense fog – 10 solid days of it. But Hell, the forecasting company earned its money simply for having the BALLS to forecast 10 days of clear weather off Newfoundland!
In the concrete business the phone starts ringing at about 6 am with people asking ‘Is it going to rain?’
The answer is ‘It might.’
I see a need to add at least a $50 surcharge for that answer.
It will take some real dough to fill the large carbon footprint made by the concrete business.

Can’t wait for the Climate Change World theme park to open in Florida. It’ll have such educational rides as the scorching “Hockey Stick” coaster, the “Maldives Year 2100” submarine, the “Carousel of Extinction” and the “Human Population Control Simulator” with soylent green coloured popcorn for the audience.
The park would be accessed by the “Moonbat Express” monorail.
There’s an oil pipeline being built from Alberta to BC’s northern coast. There will be a port and offshore loading facility constructed as well so that Canada can sell it’s oil to places OTHER than the USA. Diversification of client base sounds good to me.
There’s more than 35 jobs being created in Kitimat for this. There’s hundreds working on it right now in Calgary and it’s just in it’s design stage. Then there’ll be all the construction jobs over a few years to build all the infrastructure.
