“The virtual terrorists who stormed the John Edwards Second Life campaign headquarters identified themselves as a longstanding Second Life ‘invasion group’ called ‘Patriotic Nigras: e-terrorists at large’.
“The group posted the claim on John Edwards’ campaign blog, saying they vandalized the campaign HQ ‘for the lulz.’ The person who posted the claim, using the name Mudkips Acronym, said he wasn’t a Republican but ‘one of the most hard-core liberals I know.'”
Meanwhile: young GOP activist just outted as a former porn performer writes on his blog:
“I am embarrassed to say, I thought my fellow conservative friends would distance themselves when this news came out, and I’m touched that the opposite has happened. I’ve been asked to give my point of view, invited to speak at various functions, invited to back on TV and most people have gone out of their way to give me their vote of confidence and avoid a rush to judgment.”

I never thought I could respect the dirty hippie bomb tossing anarchists of the sixties but compared to the pismires who run the revolution from the safety of their suburban bedrooms at Mom’s house, they were bolshy warriors.

Second Life is a “virtual world” (sort of like a videogame) and some people really get angry when you try to bring real-world politics into a place like that …

Anarchist hippies, eh? Groovy man, like far out.
But wow, man, while I’m puttin’ on my Che Guevara threads here, d’you think we could get these hip dudes, to like, go after someone who has a real shot of winning? Porn star? Not a porn actor, porn extra, porn grip (chuckle), but a bona fide porn star?
I think what people are reacting to is what they see as hypocrisy. At least that was the case with the Haggard debacle, which Malkin mentions as an example of what she is talking about. They guy kept preaching and agitating against homosexuality and then it turns out that he’s been secretly paying for gay sex. I think you can see that that might elicit a little indignation and glee from defenders of “gay rights”.
Most people here reacted similarly to claims that Suzuki was a hypocrite.
