Who Killed Rogers' Rabbit?

John Gormley was asking this question as I pulled up to the shop this morning, so I didn't hear the answer.

Will rabbit ears work on a plasma flat screen TV?

If it has a built in tuner, it will.

Ted [Rogers] told the CRTC: “Let me be clear -- we will pass though any fee to our customers. And we will identify the fee as a separate line item on their monthly bill."

I hope he does it. In the past they've just send out a mailing indicating that the bill is going up x cents because the CRTC has decreed that I have to pay for this or that useless channel that I will never watch. The last one I remember was the Aboriginal Peoples' Television Network.

I would love to see a line item for each of these crappy channels I'm forced by the CRTC to support, including the CBC.

the technology exists to allow subscribers to cherry pick the stations they want; the economics arent there.

I got a flyer from the bank telling me the practice of coercive selling is unlawful; they cant FORCE you to buy a product you dont want in order to get one you need.

not so the crtc.

Funny you should bring this up...

The CBC plans on running a "tribute" to Paul Martin this week. You gotta love the impartiality of these clowns. They aren't even trying to hide their intent to get the Liberals back in power.

The CBC ran a Liberal Leadership special tonight on the National and managed not to mention Howard Dean... how can that be?

I think coverage of politics is good, but I have found there to be an inordinate amount of coverage of the Liberal leadership. Its almost like they were going to be Prime Minister the moment after they become leader.....

Non-stop Lieberal Sleezership race here in Toronto!

Hey RABBIT EARS went out like the edsel and the carrage and whats he trying to do?

If the CBC/Rogers wanted to charge "carriage fees", perhaps pressure from subscribers could force the CBC channels to a PPV tier, and this might help to see exacly how few Canadians would watch CBC?

Who killed COCK ROBIN? I SAID THE SPARROW WITH MY BOW AND ARROW BUT IT WAS BECUASE OF TEMOPRARY INSANITY

Rabbit ears are no longer widely available, as a poster above notes. However, you can buy rotary disc antennas which are used mostly on RVs and boats. In some areas of the U.S., these will even pick up over-the-air high definition TV signals.
