Because Elections in the Netherlands comprise of so many parties, all in the running, it takes from three to 7 months to finally form a government.
So, the government of the day continues on as if nothing has changed for quite some time.
Takes the urgency and the thrill of the win down a few notches. Makes for calm level-headed government though. = TG

The Eyeopener, a student paper at Ryerson, pointed out the obvious disproportionate control the Muslim Students' Association has on campus. Needless to say, they've been bombarded with accusations of insensitivity, including some from the Ryersonian, the rival paper.
Also, the Eyeopener uncovered the fact that the Ryerson Students Union President, a Muslim, has very politically charged images on his Facebook account that condemn Israel for "war crimes."

IAEA indefinitely freezes Iran nuclear aid over plutonium risk
By Reuters
VIENNA - The United Nations nuclear watchdog's board of governors Thursday indefinitely blocked an Iranian bid for technical aid for a reactor project due to fears it could yield bomb-grade plutonium, a diplomat in the meeting said.
But the decision, which the International Atomic Energy Agency's board adopted by consensus after days of wrangling between industrialized and developing nations, left open the possibility of revisiting Iran's request in future. [2 years]
In a compromise hammered out in negotiations ahead of the board meeting, Iranian requests for IAEA technical assistance on seven other nuclear energy projects judged not to pose a risk of being diverted to bomb-making were approved by the governors.

Gregory L. Schulte, the chief U.S. delegate to the IAEA said [Iran*s]Arak [project] was *removed entirely from the program, not just deferred,*adding: *Never has Iran been so isolated.*
*The U.S. and the IAEA are not prepared to help countries build nuclear bombs,* he told reporters.

Why am I not surprised? The majority of enviro-wackos are not environmentalists at all. It's all about the big red centre inside the green rind. It's just a convenient way of bashing western values and economic liberty.
The ITER thing points directly to the notion myself and others share that environmentalism isn't an actual science, but a religion.

can I have a buck for every time some critic has claimed 'electric power from fusion reactor will never be achieved'?
hint: how may times has that luddite logic been dumped on digital tech applications, vehicles, aircraft, space exploration, radio transmission, athletic achievement etc etc?
the payoff would be incalculably huge. liquid hydrocarbons could be rationed for use in aircraft for instance where you need lots of energy fast to keep the thing in the air, wheras on the ground slower acceleration rates from lower power electrical devices would still suffice.
cold fusion was dissed in the 80s, probably correctly, but is that reason to abandon the pursuit of success? I think not.

From the official Iranian Republic News Agency:
Iran to pursue human rights violation in Canada
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Thursday said that Iran will seriously pursue the issue of human rights violation in Canada.
...
Iran's anti-Canada resolution, which centers on the situation of the country's indigenous residents and religious minorities did not gain enough votes at the United Nations General Assembly's third committee meeting.
Mottaki noted that Canada had better respond to the human community about its approach to its indigenous residents.
"This was the first time Iran submitted a resolution against Canada's horrible, yet modern violation of the rights of the indigenous residents of this country," he said.
"The human rights dossier of Canada's boss, namely the US and West, in the region is not defensible. The US secret prisons across the world and its barbaric tortures at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay prisons leave no ground for defending the human rights claims by the West.
"Iran considers the silence of world countries on the US secret prisons as their cooperation with the US regime on the issue," said the minister.
He pointed to Canada's support for the crimes of the Zionist regime and said that the black dossier of the Canadian government in support of its boss (the US), which has committed many anti-human crimes in Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan as well as Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib prisons, can never be defended.

Haddad-Adel scoffs at anti-Iran stance of Canada on human rights
Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel on Wednesday scoffed at anti-Iran stance of Canada on human rights saying that Canada took such an approach during the past two-three years.
Haddad-Adel told reporters, "Public opinion in Iran believes that Canada, like Britain, follows thoroughly the policies of the US administration."
He said the Canadian government adopted such measures, because it is not independent of the US.
"Britain lost its prestige following blind pursuit of the US.
The world thinks the Canadian government will have the same image," he stated.

Iran on Wednesday strongly criticized Canada for its human rights violations, in particular those against its native residents and migrants, and urged western states to condemn its hypocritical behavior.
Iran's representative to the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, Peymaneh Hastei, said Iran had sponsored a resolution in the UN General Assembly condemning the human rights violations of Canada.
Iran, in its statement, calls on the world body to pay special attention to the human rights situation of migrants and natives of Canada for possible redress.
"Canada, which claims to be a key player in the so-called global struggle for human rights, is itself a great violator of human rights with its discriminatory policies," she emphasized.

Grandmother in first Hamas suicide attack in two years
breitbart.com ^ | 11-23-2006 | staff
A Palestinian grandmother blew herself up in the Gaza Strip, lightly wounding three Israeli soldiers, in the first suicide attack claimed by Hamas in almost two years.
The mother of nine and grandmother of 41 became the oldest Palestinian suicide bomber at the age of 57, approaching troops operating to curb daily rocket attacks, the army said.
"Troops saw a woman approaching them in a suspicious manner and identified her carrying an explosive device," a spokeswoman said of the incident in the northern town of Jabaliya.
"They then threw a stun grenade in her direction but she managed to blow herself up," the spokeswoman said, adding that three soldiers were lightly hurt.
Within minutes the armed wing of the Hamas claimed the bombing. This was the Islamist group's first suicide attack since January 2005, when a bomber wounded seven Israeli soldiers in Gaza.

“Reverse Onus!” | November 23rd, 2006
I watched “His Blondness” and “Mr McShifty” today on TV as they appeared with “Wyatt Earp” and I could not help arriving at the concluson that they were “slaves”.
How do you fight something like this?
Obviously, they had no clue.
I also watched as CTV dragged pundit after pundit onto their stage and tried to shoot Harper down. They never touched him.
Not even close.
The issue was bail hearings and I’m here to tell you now that I have watched as more than my fair share of “neer do wells” have “talked the talk” and “walked the walk” as I took the shackles off them — “many” thanks to a JP that failed to understand that protection of the public comes first. I also escorted them back into court a week later for a bail violation.
Harper made that clear today in Toronto and it was “also clear” that “McShifty” and “His Blondeness” were beside themselves as they gulped and inhaled.
“Reverse Onus” simply means that crooks have to show why they should get out of jail rather than the Crown attempting to prove they should be kept in.
“Whoa!”
“Ya but what about if they are in jail for months or years while the case progresses?”
Harpers view — “Tough luck, guys. Your ass is grass if you use a gun.”
“Have a nice day.”
And here’s a final thought. ...-

$20B warning on Kyoto
Paul Vieira, Financial Post
Published: Thursday, November 23, 2006
OTTAWA - Meeting Kyoto targets will cost the Canadian economy a third of its output or force Ottawa to spend $20-billion by 2012 to buy international credits, says one of the country's leading business groups.
Jayson Myers, chief economist for the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, will lay out this scenario today before the House of Commons environment committee. His appearance comes as the all-party committee studies a Liberal MP's private member's bill aimed at compelling the Conservative government to adhere to Canada's obligations under the Kyoto climate-change accord. ...-

The eco-loons are unhappy because ITER isn't their favorite make-work program. But am I supposed to happy about what is really nothing but a multinational, commie-style, government-funded energy boondoggle?
Every political question ultimately comes down to a single issue. Either you believe in free markets, or you believe in socialism.
Well, maybe the quoted objection to ITER from environmentalists needs a bit of context. Most of the objections I've heard also mention that the project may not deliver at all, and it definitely won't deliver much electricity in the next 50 years. This reactor is a research project that will produce net power output (an improvement on the current prototype) but only in the form of heat, not electricity. An actual generator is anticipated somewhere between 2030 and 2050, and widespread use would be sometime later. Depending on how soon you expect serious economic setbacks due to oil shortages and/or climate change, you might wonder whether this project has enough chance of coming to fruition before society unravels too much to complete it. As Alex mentioned, there is also the question of France's future political stability.
It sounds too utopian to me. Never mind diverting resources from fighting greenhouse gases; it's a huge diversion from taxpayers' pockets. But then again, if the estimates are anywhere close, it should cost less than the Space Station.
ITER - an energy project that creates no CO2 emissions.
Someday fusion energy may achieve zero CO2 emissions, but there is no way that ITER will be built or even operated without C02 emissions, and plenty. Splitting hairs, I know, but how many people read the links?

Way to go, everyone.
You are unique. You are an individual.
All conservatives know this. How? By instinct, from birth; by use of intellect, reason, observation of themselves, their family, other people.
Left liberals, socialists, communists, maoists and their ilk, deny this reality. Their concept is to level all humans, squash humans, into identical prison cages; gulags....graves.
One example: Mao China killed up to 70,000,000 (seventy million) humans in his dystopian human blood sausage factory.

Study turns human genetics on its head
Research finds abnormal is really normal, puts in question some medical tests
CAROLYN ABRAHAM
It was nice while it lasted. But the idea that all the world's people are 99.9 per cent genetically identical -- that a mere sliver of DNA separates a Dolly Parton from a Dalai Lama -- is untrue.
An international research team has overturned the harmonious message that flowed from the Human Genome Project in 2000 and discovered more DNA differences exist among people than the experts expected.
Using new technology to study the genomes of 270 volunteers from four corners of the world, researchers have found that while people do indeed inherit one chromosome from each parent, they do not necessarily inherit one gene from mom and another from dad.
One parent can pass down to a child three or more copies of a single gene. In some cases, people can inherit as many as eight or 10 copies. ...-
