Senator Joseph (Joe) Day,
I am addressing this communication to you, however I will be issuing copies to various senate members, blogs and newsmedia as well, because I view this as a serious matter for Canadians.
Reading your Official senate CV shows obvious mental capacity, worthy of twenty years sitting in an unelected position, at least according to the lights of those who made the appointment.
My concern is regarding the Federal Accountability Act that has been essentially gutted by the Liberal majority committee in the Senate, and of which you are a member.
Reasonably politically informed Canadians know that oversight of past government monetary practices was woefully inadequate, resulting in Liberal government malfeasance.
The Conservative New Accountability Act limiting the amount individuals are permitted to contribute has been gutted, just to name one important change, among many others.
Those change issues point directly to the insincerity of the Liberal dominated senate, of real honest efforts to clean up the mess that gave cover for corrupt administrations to exist and thrive, particularly if
an enabling and willfully blind media also existed in the land.
Even a grade ten dropout can comprehend the machinations when supposedly intelligent men in positions of power use that power for curious reasons ( perhaps the interest of their own political party) rather than the betterment of rules to
keep governments from further wallowing in corruption.
Therefore I am urging you and your fellow senators to stop using obstructionist tactics and pass the Accountability Act the elected members of Canada wrote for the good of Canadians and clean government.
I suspect you and your fellow Senators are aware that the internet has given rise to ordinary Canadians gaining a voice they never had with mainstream media as gatekeepers of information.
A blogging community now exists where message such as this one would never appear in a newspaper or at least in a major national one.
That day is past and a good thing too!
And just to one more comment, my sincere hope is that a day will come in this country when political appointments to the Senate will no longer exist and perhaps even a high school dropout can compete in elections with the possessor of a half-mile long CV for a Senate seat.
A good place to start would be elected Senators with a six year term limit.
Or alternatively ND Jack Layton's proposal and eliminate the senate entirely!

If they do, they’re serious. If they don’t, they’re a Syrian proxy. Either way, it doesn’t look good. This is not a prank phone call.

These threats to Beirut’s elected government are concurrent with Hezbollah’s and Amal’s resignation from the Lebanese cabinet.

These foreign soldiers are useless except as human shields.

Israelis need a new Lebanon strategy. Now. But they are not likely to get one, at least not until Ehud Olmert takes his rightful place among the losers of Israeli prime ministers.

He’s threatening to invade Lebanon again as early as this coming Spring. So far there is no talk whatsoever of doing anything to Hezbollah’s logistics hub in Syria. Hebollah is nothing but a protest and charity movement without its supply train from Tehran through Damascus.

I'm curious if anyone else has been getting commie propaganda from Taliban Jack? A number of pieces of his idiocy showed up in Kamloops which were returned unopened with "unsoliced commie propaganda, return to sender" written on them. A friend in Vancouver has also recieved this crap, but took time to open them and they contain typical NDP garbage on "dangers" of pesticides, Taliban Jack on ethics (an oxymoron), and "a green agenda for Canada". These are mailed without any postage and have "House of Commons" on the back of the envelope.

I know that every MP gets funding to send newsletters out to their constituants, but this NDP propaganda appears to be far in excess of what one would consider reasonable. These letters are individually adressed to people which means that the NDP has somehow gotten a national list of voters and the envelope contents contain no procedure to get off this idiots mailing list.

This is the first time I've seen anything like this and I'd be curious who is paying for it. Perhaps someone at SDA might be able to shed more light on the subject.

To the framers of the U.S. Constitution, property was as sacred as life and liberty. The inalienable right to own -- and control the use of -- private property is perhaps the single most important principle responsible for the growth and prosperity of America. It is a right that is being systematically eroded.

Private ownership of land is not compatible with socialism, communism, or with global governance as described by the United Nations. In the first paragraph, the editors use the words, "climate change". The enviro-greens are now changing their songwords to mean something ele. What could that be? It's the weather, stupid.

But....

In the next paragraph, the editors bring out the words, "global warming"; the words of human catastrophe.

But, then, the editors cite the debunked, phony Stern Report, which, mirabile dictu, uses the two words, "climate change", meaning the weather is variable, volatile, voracious.

Damn, you, Mother Nature. Stay put; keep quiet; stop your moods-swings, Lady Nature. We humans (hu-mans!) are in charge of this planet; Mao Strong says so. Mao's words are our Earth.

I am truly sorry for a number of things I wrote on a personal blog. Some of the things I wrote cannot be excused. I take full responsibility for any pain I have caused.

In particular, comments made about the Muslim community were born out of my own ignorance. I continue to learn more about the Islamic faith and gain a great appreciation of its desire for peace.

Other comments about the Liberal party, same-sex marriage and women's right to vote were meant tongue in cheek. For crossing the line into rudeness and cruelty, I apologize. I was insensitive and I was wrong.

I have stopped posting to the website. I realized that my voice was becoming just another angry voice. The world doesn't need anymore angry voices.

My indiscretions are my own and should in no way reflect on anyone other than me.
