This bit of tongue in cheek penned by the Toronto Star's Public Editor, Sharon Burnside;

h/t Chris Selley, (who has the punchline).

"Torstar stock, which has dropped 15 per cent so far this year and is trading at five-year lows, shed another 77 cents or 4.09 per cent to close at $18.05 on Friday. A drop from Thursday's opening price of $18.92 to the Merrill valuation average of $13.59 would be 28 per cent."

Unthinking and pointless.

The Toronto Star is far too socialist to have to scrape and grovel for income and profits. Like the CBC, which is featuring a documentary indispensible to Canadians this weekend on "the F-word", the Toronto Star deserves to be taxpayer-funded. How dare Canadians not support the Toronto Star.
