Loaded question polling at the Globe & Mail;
Federal finance minister Jim Flaherty says Canadians "are taxed too much" and he plans to cut taxes in his next budget. Would you prefer a tax cut or keeping taxes where they are in order to spend more on programs such as health care and education?
And it still isn't working for them.
h/t Daimnation.

I'm not sure what they're asking. Would I prefer to spend my money on beer & popcorn, or give it to bloated social agencies that get very little bang for my buck?
I don't even like beer and popcorn. I wonder if they'd be OK with me having Baileys & cheese instead?
"you know what dogs do to polls ??"
Has anyone ever seen raw polling data ? Or a list of those polled ?
My poll; Who do you trust for accurate news information ? Mainstream Media or sda.
Results: Media -- 5.4 %
sda --------------------------94.6 %
At least they didn't rig the outcome
Letter written to the globe today challenging them to conduct a poll: "Would you prefer a tax cut, or lower taxes and more money spent on healthcare and education at the expense of special interest programs?"
Gimme a tax cut any day!
Nice one, andrew e.
It seems a majority of Canadian tax payers would like a tax break so that they can spend their own money on their own health care.....
Whose money do you think gets spent on health care?
The power of taxation - convincing the gullible that something for which they've overpaid is free.
Nice one, andrew e.
: )
I mean if 50 % + of my income 'MB' goes to taxes and I get free health care yahoo, so do family class immigrants, I get to pay for welfare bums, NACSW, Eagle, etc, etc.

We don't just wave a wand and get funding for loony govt funded pressure groups someone works their butt off to have their $$$ wasted.
GOOD ONE KATE
Here in Ontario Mcguinty is running tv ads saying everything is coming up rosey in the health system(wait times are down).
Thanks to our paycheck contribution that is not a tax.
The doctors assc. has come out & said that wait times are not down. I know for a a fact in my local hospital they are not, So the question is where is he talking about?
The other question is where are the extra monies that are taken from my paycheck (that is not a Tax)going?
They are going right into Provincial coffers so the liberals can keep there friends in the advertising agencies employed. Oh & BTW there is an election in the wind, its a year away so let the propaganda games begin.
when are they going to poll:
When did you stop beating your wife?
0 yesterday.
0 today.
POLLS AS NEWS SHOWS HOW LITTLE THEY HAVE/WANT TO REPORT.
Even if G&M poll is accurate, so what. First, voter intentions are quite fluid and, secondly, Tories still have more support than at beginning of last election. Not bad, considering they have actually taken decisions, ie Afghan, softwood, crime, GST etc. I was heartened by indication that Rae is first choice. When he was premier of Ont, it was called "Zimbobrae." Rae managed to alienate all voters, regardless of affiliation. While Tories must not be complacent and continue dialoguing with Canadians, this Liberal leadership slate (and their handlers) seem to me to be the second team, ie no Tobin, Copps, McKenna and others. They would give Tories serious run for their money. Ignatieff in a leadership debate will be a joke. Rae would fare better until he makes argument that, while he made mistakes, he was being "compassionate." Come again? Sounds like the previous government's argument that you can screw up and be totally corrupt, as long as you mean well! Harper will mop the floor with this bunch, though I think he has some work to do to achieve a majority government, given the voting preferences in large urban centres and the Quebec attitude towards Afghanistan. I am assuming, of course, that the Liberal leader can keep his foot out of his mouth during the Spring 07 election. On va voir!!
The next poll should be conducted with the 43% of the people who are in favour of keeping taxes as they are. The question: Do you currently pay income taxes?
It looks like "we" are going to win today's poll about PM Blair on burqas, too. And funny, you don't have to register for this one like you had to do after the poll results began going against the Glib & Pale's editorial position on that poll from the couple of weeks ago.
We here in Canada like our social programs. We need medicare.,CP,EI. Taxes pay for these programs. I hope you all stay healthy and don't need healthcare. You cut taxes, programs will be cut. You can't expect to pay less and get the same product. That doesn't make any sense. You either pay taxes or lose services. We had a big tax cut during the 80's. Next thing you know we have 2% flat tax so our province could pay it's bills.. The Rich don't pay many taxes so it's the grunt workers that pay the most. Tax cuts are a vote buyer that's all. They are unrealistic and a pipe dream.
