Paul Wells criticizes Mark Steyn.... for "sloppy reading".

Paul Wells is a poopy head.

Actually, let's call it the "Antonia Zerbiasis People-Aren't-Paying-Enough-Attention-To- MEEEEE!" Award...

I don't know about Mark, but I certainly can't remember the last I made it to the end of a Paul Wells column.

Paul who?????

Don't get me started or this entire thread will fall down the bottomless wells.

Hey, I like Paul Wells. And Small Dead Animals.

I feel like Romeo and Juliet here.

Many posters said they liked Mark S, and that is why they read Macleans. How about subscribing to the Western Report, as he has a weekly column there, plus you get a good conservative take on everything. As for the SOWs not supporting or taking any stand on the treatment of women in the muslim world, could it be that they know pork is forbidden there, and pork comes from pigs, and a female pig is a SOW. I belong to an org that is devastated by the cuts to the SOWs and cancellation of the Court Challenge Program.
I was the only voice on the executive that cheered the cuts. I enjoy the work we do, but after a 3 day wkend, I am glad to get back home to conservative territory. Most of them are from Redmonton, and are ndp or liberals, and it only takes a few minutes to find this out. It is very educational to get their view of things, but I have managed to change some minds. 5 of them have bought memberships in the conservative party to vote for our new Premier, and they have organized meetings with all the candidates and are both surprised and impressed that none of them have horns. One step at a time, and we will get them to support Harper.

Well mocked!

P.S. I like Paul Wells' writing and often consider him informative and insightful. However, he does tend to take things a little bit sensitive and personal from time to time doesn't he?

And to think that I had a subscription to Macleans for decades !! uugghh. During the 70's and 80's and most of the 90's. Then, canned it. I honestly can say I WILL NOT let that rag come through my door. Even if they paid me. Bad for ones mental health. Dentist office is enough.

I, and everybody around me, always wondered why the articles were so off-the-wall. Underlying spin in every article. Media will tell the citizens how to think mentality. Not in the Internet era, thank you.

Is that a dead lemming in your pickie up there?

Too funny!!! PW does indeed have thin skin and I think Kathie got the name of his much deserved award dead right.

I had a run in with him over at AC's blog before he went AWOL. You may find this humorous. It was the occasion of PMSH's first press conference before the PPG and PW's snipiness seems rather prophetic in retrospect.

I don't think that citing Harper's policy positions from ten years ago is any more effective than Martin's first term as finance minister was indicitive of his performance as PM.

In Martin's quest for the big chair he became an increasingly petty and smaller man. Harper has done quite the opposite. His personal and political growth is going to surprise a lot of people.

An indicator, look at the way he baffled them at today's press conference. The wags havn't seen one like that in a long time.

To whit PW responded some posts later with:

Oh, you bet. He is the wisest and most brilliant man since Epictetus. Armies crumble at his feet. Birds fall from the heavens at his mere gaze. But I'm gonna keep asking questions about how he runs the country, if you don't mind terribly, "Syncrodox."

In honor of the recently fallen PMPM I could only offer this:

Ouch!!! Lol! Let me be absolutely clear Wells. Fundamentally I believe that Harper's performance today was very very different than the hill has seem in a while.

I didn't mean to insult your journalistic sensibilities.

Contritely Yours

LMAO

Oh yea, you're right we shall see what he gets done.

I wonder if PW has signed the list yet so he can keep asking hard hitting questions just like he did with the previous government?

Pompous dipshit. LOL!!!

Kate: Sorry for OT but I just wanted to remind everyone of the March for Freedom in Caledonia tomorrow. The fear mongering from ALL the politicans this last week has been sickening. The link will take you to WakeUpCaledonia. Check out what they have been through to hold this March, it truely is unbelieve that this is happening in Canada.

I expect Paul Wells is now having a severe case of shrinkage. Coupled with his walnuts trying to come out his mouth as Kate drilled him.

You just had a Lady give you the death of a thousand cuts. Verbally that is.

Paul Wells? I LOVED that radio thing he did with War Of The Worlds, where people actually thought Martians had landed!

Kate,

Careful who you choose to humiliate.

WOMAN 'SAVAGED' BY ENRAGED GIANT PIG

The last time I saw Wells get hit that hard, Jed Clampett was awash in bubblin' crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol Paul's a millionaire,

Kinfolk said "Paul move away from there"

Said "Tae Domi is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Gallery.

Parliament Hills, that is. MSM fools, tv stars.

Well now its time to say good by to Paul and all his kin.

And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.

You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their derangability

Parliament Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?.

Ins*t a sort of incest when jounalists butt heads? = TG

Admittedly I haven't subscribed to Macleans for many. many years.
I confess to buying a copy a few months ago when they did a piece on one of Harper's insiders, Patrick Muttart, a fellow Woodstock Ontario son.
My view of Macleans is it has been left leaning and Liberal lickspittle.
The fact that one of the best writers in North America - Mark Steyn now contributes to Macleans will not change my view.
Western Standard will do nicely for my needs.
If I want left wing pap I can get it daily from mainstream Canadian media.
The owners of Macleans are not about to change the mag into anything but what it has been for years.
I suspect the Paul Wells ilk will outlast the Mark Steyns ilk
at Macleans.
Left wing.

Hey, Clyde and all other Wells, howdy again! (And I'm old enough to have LOVED your musical parody. LOL!)

What IS Paul's--Wells, that is--problem?

Clyde; I also enjoyed the parody. Nemo2, my husband listened to that War of the Worlds, and can still remember how scared they all were. Living on a farm, with no power etc, I guess it was scary, and no msm to explain what was going on. Before being attacked by leftists re the no power and listening to the radio, it was battery operated.

Tip to those getting the Western Report in TO, Montreal or Vancouver. When you are done reading it, take it to a waiting room or your place of work. Watch the libs sneak a read, but never admit it. You catch them when they quote something from it. Great fun.

This is a little off topic.

This article bebunks completly those who still think the "Religion of Peace" is not rotting or chiping away at our Democracy.

That those "moderate" Muslims will assimulate or aculturate to Canadian ideals:

A number of young Somali-Canadians have returned to their homeland and joined a hardline Islamic militia that some call Africa's Taliban, sources have told the National Post.

The Shabbab, a Somali youth militia whose leader is believed to have been trained by al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, includes several Canadians in its ranks, the sources said.

A "little" off topic?

Okay okay! A "LOT" off topic than . (O:}

Paul Wells is a big Poopy Head.

My apologies to Kathy for stealing her material. But it is so good.

Let's not forget the timing of this little tantrum, either: the cover story of this week's Maclean's is a lengthy excerpt from Steyn's new book, "America Alone." Think someone might be seething at the editors' decision, just a bit? It's so very terribly gauche for that ghastly, warmongering Islamophobe to be taken seriously, you know...

I generally like Wells' work - when he's actually doing real analysis instead of content-free snark, I think he's one of the better Canadian columnists working today - but if he's got a petty grudge against someone, it shows.

Way OT. 2 more cdn killed in Afgan doing what taliban jack suggests-building infrastructure. That seems more dangerous than fighting taliban. My sympathies to the families and the troops.

Do any of you remember when Joe Volpe was being chased by the ghosts with the "Joe Volpe has spirit" signs, wasn't it Paul Wells who almost knocked one of them over trying to get the mask off? I might be wrong, but I think it looked like him.

Back when Coyne used to have comments at his blog, the great (in his own mind) Paul Wells posted one of his usual bits of sanctimony concerning PMSH. I pointed out an obvious mistake in the post, which he conceded, and then proceeded to try to make the nerdiest joke about my moniker, the kind that makes you realize that he was the last kid picked in the schoolyard, and had a pretty lousy time growing up. No excuse for turning in to the pedantic priss he has become, but I had two seconds of sympathy.

This report qualifies for today?

If Wells continues with this "I'm always right and your are always wrong" tantruming, the pajama press have to pass the hat to get him a 5 ton stake truck to haul his ego around in. ;-)

Stick it to them Kate!
These pompous, third rate, self absorbed hacks,
Canadian media's ass-kisser, lickspittle lackeys
of our God ordained ruling party.

Back when Coyne used to have comments at his blog...

You mean back when Coyne USED to have a blog.

The thing is overrun with tumbleweeds and broken furniture. He must be workin' on a book or somethin'.

Way to go, Kate! Love it!

Yes...good ol' Macleans. Last month our sec. school library had to take an issue off the shelf because of the inappropriate content - something about Playboy bunnies and Hugh Hefner. Great journalistic quality! (sarcasm on!) Western Standard is it for my Mark Steyn fix.

Wells couldn't hold Steyn's underwear as he dressed.

Read this wks issue of Western Standard, great review of Marks new book, plus it has a report on the green/wackos causing millions of deaths in Africa by malaria, by their having the world health org ban DDT. New report by WHO-DDT not dangerous and has been approved for use to fight malaria. Greens lied, people died.
