The Liberal Party taking from Joe to pay Jasper

Recall how the Liberal Party executive took the recommendation to fine Joe Volpe a mere $1,000 and jacked it up to $20,000? Is the party out to get Volpe? Or is the National Executive, specifically President Mike Eizenga and National Director Steve MacKinnon, hoping that they'll be able to use the money to pay off a party debt to Liberal International? Jasper Veen has been trying and trying to get the debt settled.

The Liberal Party of Canada has been avoiding his calls since May! And Veen is pretty steamed about it.

So lets see if I got this right!
- LPC is part of a founding group for a little known organization based in London GB
- The current officers of said org. are demanding payment of dues.
- The exact figure owed seems to be the amount the LPC decided t fine Joe (I'm the Victim here!) Volpe.

This looks like scam to me...but who's getting the gaff?

Poetic Justice! The master scam artist gets scammed by the Scam Party! LMAO :-)

Do liberal members know they belong to this group, and it is made up of mostly countries with dictatorships. Could explain why chretain was a dictator and supported corruption.
Is this for real, or is someone playing April fools very early. But, the Green Party is associated with the european green party, and the policies of same are set at conventions in europe, to be followed by all Greens worldwide. A former cdn leader was on the executive. Do the conservatives belong to any world org.

Ya right, it's just a coincidence they owe exactly the amount of Volpe's "fine".
What a tribe of bankrupt SHYSTERS.The games those low down, conniving twit heads are playing is far beyond anyone's imagination.
It's funny, yes, but is it funny enough for the Globe and Mail and the Red Star to cover or "speculate" on? They love to speculate on Conservative "stories".
That Party should be reduced to a mere rump next time aroumd.

Well, they got 10 bucks of my money for nothing (and no "chicks for free"). I spent a sawbuck on a Liberal membership in order to vote on Superweekend. I got my membership card well before the cutoff date to vote. I gag through the LPC emails, etc.

So I show up to vote on Saturday (for Bob Rae - if anybody in Ontario actually votes for him we deserve to be exiled) and apparently the local riding used the same consultants that gave us the gun registry because half the people that showed up weren't on the list.

I had my membership card and more photo ID than Paris Hilton but they wouldn't let me vote.

Typical Liberal ineptitude.

LOL!

As I was reading this, I was almost feeling sorry for the poor old Liberals: no more access to the bottomless coffers of taxpayer dollars, which makes it hared to pay their dues to Liberal-International.

Then I started to feel really pi**ed off: just another ripoff of the Canadian taxpayer. Whether we voted NDP, Conservative, Bloc, or Liberal, our tax dollars, most likely, were being used in just one more scheme to benefit the Liberals.

No doubt, for the past 13 years, until the CPC came into power, the Librano$ had no trouble paying their Liberal-International dues. 'Doesn't surprise me in the least that they're not paying these dues and are avoiding talking to the folks trying to collect the long past due $25,000.

'Can't be a coincidence, can it, that Joe Volpe's being fined almost the exact amount of the late dues at just the time that Liberal- International is getting fed up with waiting?

If the Canadian Liberals are so hard up that they can't afford the $25,000 they owe to this organization, then maybe they're in far worse shape than most people know.

It would be a disaster if Canadians vote them back in and allow them to raid the cookie jar for all of their pet projects, Liberal- International being but one.

It just came to me today, reading about Ignatieff and Rae, both silver-spoon liberals, that it probably doesn't much matter to either of them which one gets in. They're long-time friends and whoever becomes leader will have all sorts of perks at the ready for his friend.

This is depressing. It seems pretty clear that one or the other is going to win the leadership, and whichever one it is, is going to be hyping the Librano$. Damn! In my books, both men are selling their souls to the Devil--or at least to a very besmirched Party, and one wonders what's in it for them? I don't detect much altruism on the part of either Rae or Ignatieff.

Just what Canada needs: more freeloaders, more moochers, more opportunists.

Another depressing and macabre thought:

Rae and Ignatieff are being called in to do CPR on a corpse, so that if they're able to revive it, they can use it for personal gain. Sick.

Why can't they realize what a spectacle they're making of themselves? I guess because they only talk to each other, go to each other's parties, and pay attention to one another's ideas. 'Problem being, they don't have a new or exciting idea between the two of them.

I hope they both gag on the silver spoons in their mouths--either that, or while they're trying to revive the Librano corpse.

This is going to be like adscam.

F%@+ You!, Pay Me!"

Look for some ex-politico's Mercedes to blow up, with him in it somewhere in Quebec soon.

Liberal International? There really is such a thing? I know that there's a Socialist International, but this sounds like a hoax to me.

Shut down/decertify/deregister the Liberal Party.

GRITS HIT BY SCANDAL

A Toronto lawyer will file a complaint today over allegations hundreds of new Liberals were improperly signed up across Canada as part of the ongoing leadership race...

Richard Boraks said he will give a list of names of more than 300 members of the Liberal Party of Canada to the RCMP and Elections Canada for investigation....

Boraks said he was told the fees were paid for by the campaigns of some of the 10 leadership candidates.

Check out Angry in the Great White North/Steve Janke. Liberal-International is for real and has offices on Whitehall, for heavens sake, in London, England. No wonder they need the $25000 from Joe. Rents are somewhat inflated in that part of town: They're neighbours of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.

Re my earlier post about Michael Ignatieff and Bob Rae, their silver spoons firmly in mouth, and oodles of doe-re-mi in the bank, I don't, per se, have a problem with their personal privilege and wealth: hey, someone's gotta be born that way.

What I do have a problem with is their being hussled into this leadership race, like "unholy bagman" as my father once referred to Trudeau's back room boys.

Ignatieff has no experience as a politician, which could work in his favour, but give me a break: Become Party Leader and possibly Prime Minister with less than a year as an MP? That would be like someone becoming Chief of Police having never lived in the city and having been--let's say--a professor at Harvard with no police background.

And look at Bob Rae. Former leader of the NDP Party in Ontario, someone who put the province deeply into debt--a debt Ontario is still dealing with--and he wants to cross over to the Liberals, so he can LEAD the Party? His raw ambition is transparent and unseemly--not to mention that it's clear he's a Paul Desmarais puppet, in company with ex PMs Martin, Chretien, Mulroney, con man extraordinaire Mo Strong, and Rae's own brother, John, who works for Power Corps--or did.

Business as usual for the Liberals. And the optics stink. Librano guys and gals must have strong stomachs, and no scruples whatsoever.

I admit I've been a bit behind the times. Exactly what was Ignatieff a professor of, anyways?

The LIEberal party screwed the tax payers while they were in office, they don't pay their dues, they are in debt. Where the he*l has all the money gone? To whom and why aren't rank & file LIEberals raising a fuss??
How many golf courses "doesn't" chretien own?? Is alphonso collecting EI? How many LIEberal pigs at the trough were "entitled" and are still receiving envelopes of cash?
The LIEberals simply boggle the mind ! GOOFS !

It is to laugh.

LPC? = LOL

It's over. Mr. Michael Ignatieff, PhD,LLD, Litt. Dr., EggHead, Iraqi War Pundit, America-Lover, etc. is:

The Leader of the LPC.

Stornoway is being re-decorated: red, white, and blue. (snip)

EX-OFFICIO LIBERALS COULD DECIDE IGNATIEFF'S FATE
The true extent of Michael Ignatieff's lead in the Liberal leadership race depends heavily on how some 850 ex-officio delegates will vote at the party's December convention in Montreal

'DIRTY TRICKS' BEHIND PROBE OF LIBERALS

Liberal party officials are accusing rivals of U.S.-style dirty politics as a police probe gets underway over allegations hundreds of new party members were improperly signed up across Canada.

BALLOTS FOR LIBERAL LEADERSHIP BEING RECOUNTED

According to three different leadership camps, the recount started Thursday afternoon after it was discovered that party officials in Quebec had incorrectly rejected blank ballots or those cast for candidates who've dropped out of the contest

Embassy staffer's partner gets controversial contract

Kathy Tomlinson, CTV News

It was the day before Canada Day last summer in London, England. Canada's High Commission was helping to host a special event -- the first ever "Canada Day in London."

The event included music and Mounties and street hockey -- in Trafalagar Square. It was funded, in part, with $130,000 of taxpayers' money.

What Canadians didn't know at the time was, the company hired to stage the event is run by the common-law partner of a key Embassy official.

That official is Gillian Licari, the Acting Head of the Cultural Relations Unit at Canada House in London. Her partner is John Denby, a director with a company called "Sound + Light Productions." At the time of the event, they were sharing a home in London.

Denby's company was paid approximately $100,000 to stage the one-day event. CTV's Whistleblower unit has obtained e-mails, written by Licari, which show she was directly involved in organizing that same event.

"I think in this case you're seeing a clear instance of ethics rules for government officials being breached," said Duff Conacher, of Democracy Watch. ...-

Yep.

Those Libranos are sure rebuilding and cleansing themselves.

Just like a septic tank is cleansed when someone flushes the toilet.

:))

The Liberals still can't run a clean campaign, cheating and infighting right up there with Banana Republics. What could be more simple and straight forward than joining a Party and getting a ballot and voting? How can that get so complicated? It's a real comedy show with the Martinites and the Chretienites still squaring off. If Rae wins we'll know the Chretien Camp won the battle.
It's proof they're not ready for Prime Time.
