Lisa, at London Fog;
Canadians are stupid in exact proportion to the importance they place on McKay’s comment, assuming he even said it in the first place. The real victim here is the taxpayer who pays the wages of these buffoons. Bitches, all of you. Is it okay if I call Stronach, Jennings, and Sgro dogs or bitches? Can a woman be accused of “sexism?” if her comment is directed to a member of one’s own “victim” group? If you can’t take the “heat” ladies, you should resume your role of sock darner and toilet cleaner.
(The second last word.)

McKay should be appologizing - to dogs. At least your pet will remain loyal...
I think it's pretty clear by now that he did indeed make the (hillarious) comment, and then lied about it.
I have no problems with the comment he made, but I have a bone to pick with his conduct after making it.
Lisa from The Fog is an A++ list blogger!
Judy Sgro asks “Does he think the people of Canada are stupid?”
I'd like to ask Judy Sgro if she thinks the people of Canada are stupid? Does she and the rest of her gaggle of ninnyheaded geese think that we can't see through their silly antics? (my apologies to all geese in the land for linking them with Liberals)
If she and Marlene Jennings think that swooning from the vapors, in shock over something a fellow parliamentarian allegedly said increases her stature....well, she should give her head a shake.
Deb Grey was the epitomy of a strong female parliamentarian. When slurred by a Liberal's insult, she shot right back with a classy, self-depracating yet pointed jab.
Grow up Judy, Marlene, et al., stop playing the victim, and get on with the job we pay you to do.
Lisa at London Fog has it about right.
Stronach, Judy Sgro, Marlene Jennings bitches?
Pity Lisa hadn't got into London City municipal politics.
Geez she could give the sorry London Free Press some fine quotes to mull over.
Or better yet into the soon to be contested seat vacated by Liberal Joe Fontana.
Makes an old fellows heart warm to know we still have Ontarian women with the true grit of a Maggie Thatcher.
Now if we (Canada) could only adopt Beccy Cole!
You go Lisa!!
My sound system isn't so good, nor's my hearing any more so I didn't hear the remarks in question. My question If McSquinty had said bitch instead of dog would it have okay? My last dog was female and had a lot in common with politicans. She was good of hearing but hard of listning.
Sgro imported female lap dancers from Romania--I guess that wasn't a slur against women?????
Can a woman be accused of “sexism?” if her comment is directed to a member of one’s own “victim” group?
Yes. You are a sexist if you say anything about Belinda. She is a victim group all her own.
Limp dicked left wing Canucks are stupid, and that is not just the females.
Warwick, it's that kind of insight that gives SDA its well deserved reputation in the comments section.
Since when is a girlfriend supposed to remain "loyal" to the political party of her boyfriend?
Personally, I'm not too impressed by MacKay and his comment, and then lie about it.
For some reason I don't think if I called Lisa a pandering, simpering, doormat, she'd take it in the spirit of the "heat" in which it is intended.
That he said "it" isn't in question, there's audio evidence on tape for goodness sake. If Ralph Goodale flipped Harper the bird, that wouldn't be in Hansard, yet he'd have to say he was sorry.
Oh it's all bark and no bite!!
"Belindog Strumpet" should just be more careful where she impales her stiletto Gucci heels.
Go "Tie" one on, and "Domi-Up".
Whether Peter Mackay made the remark or not; she certainly earned it by her scurrilous behaviour.
Quit yer bitchin, and get on with the nations business. If you are going to have a little Bed Chamber Crisis, please don't do it on the public dime. Further, don't try and make yourself out to be some poor darling jilted, circa 1837 harking back to Prime Minister Robert Peel of Britain.
Belinda's honour, if indeed she has any, was desecrated by self inflicted wounds; as reported in divorce papers filed by Leanne Domi.
We are just staggered by Belinda's newfound respect for the institution of marriage.
If you are going about the town hoisting your petticoat for any old muscular NHLer married or not; why whine about public commentary about your wanton flaunting? This is commonly known as fair comment.
Honour, for those who still have a grasp of the concept, is earned not bought by money, power or prestige.
Rather than honourable, she has played the role of national femme fatale. Only now, the fatality has been her own career, due to her self inflicted dalliances in the boudoir and strident floor crossing in the House of Commons.
Geez, why complain when you are living out your 'film noir' fantasy, and doing it on the public dime no less? What else could a poor millionaire ever possibly aspire to?
Perhaps, the real issue is Belinda's Rocky Mountain size ego, and her splashy desire to be in the headlines. Why not try doing something of substance, rather concocting mercenary approaches to cabinet posts and feigning wounded honour?
So it seems we have not only sexual trysts but political trysts as well.
Well Belinda, you could be so much more. All it requires is a little dash of character, something that seems to be in short supply among the LIEberal party. Well of course you made your own bed, now lie down in it and comtemplate your life.
Ok, let us count the ways...
Betrayed party
betrayed boyfriend
wrecked home (by sleeping with married man)
whines about being the "victim"
OK, let's count the ways that matter.
Betrayed party - That matters how in the context of what MacKay said?
betrayed boyfriend - by changing parties??! Man, if he can't take the heat... you know the rest.
wrecked home (by sleeping with married man) - How does that affect MacKay? They were separated at the time too, right?
whines about being the "victim" - She was a victim of being called a dog in Parliament.
Betrayed party
betrayed boyfriend
wrecked home (by sleeping with married man)
whines about being the "victim"
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Poor Belinda has not said who she supports for the leadership run.
Whats the motive behind that.
Will she announce who she supports when she is really sure who is going to win, for the sake of ensuring herself a cabinet position if the liberals become the gov't again.
Or is it that she wants to make sure it is someone with absolutly no morals such as herself.
As I understand it, (perhaps incorrectly), all Mr McKay said was "You've got her"........HE didn't mention the word 'dog'.......(did he?)
Belinda:
I find it hard to believe she speaks for all women.
Sgro:
We know at least she speaks for the pollster, well pole dancers.
Betrayed party
betrayed wife
wrecked home (by sleeping with married woman)
whines about being the "victim"
Bill Clinton taught her well
Saskboy said, "If Ralph Goodale flipped Harper the bird, that wouldn't be in Hansard, yet he'd have to say he was sorry."
That shows how little you understand conservatives. If Goodale flipped off the PM in the HOC, then yes, there would be criticism of the behavior itself. You would hear all kinds of comments that would go along the lines of how such actions are irresponsible and inappropriate and that they take away from the dignity and decorum of an institution where people should behave better.
But, if it were the Conservatives who were slighted, you would not hear the huge blown-out-of-proportion crap that you get with Liberals. Stephen "I can take a punch" Harper would simply wave off the behavior for what it is - adolescent idiocy...something for the school-yard. If Mackay really did make the comment/insinuation he is accused of and the Liberals were people of integrity, they would wave it off the same way.
But, no. They have to demand apologies. Claim people have been "hurt." Insist that this shows that the whole bunch of Conservatives harbor some deep-seated disrespect for women...yadda...yadda...yadda. When Sgro asked if they (the Conservatives) think Canadians are stupid, she did so thinking, "I hope so. Coz then maybe they'll buy the idea that this 'dog' stuff is important." Meanwhile, issues where the Canadian taxpayers are really hurt and insulted - as happens with every Liberal "programme" (scandal) - are somehow excusable. Sgro has intimate knowledge of such things.
So, I can't agree Saskboy. Conservatives have a long reputation of getting really upset over things that matter (and are wrong). Liberals get really upset over anything they think can give them a political advantage (and they depend on public stupidity to make it such an advantage). Right or wrong is a technicality from their point of view.
""You've got her"........HE didn't mention the word 'dog'.......(did he?)"
Nemo, take things in context please. "What [about your] dog?" "You already have her!"
Saskboy said: Nemo, take things in context please. "What [about your] dog?" "You already have her!"
Facts are facts......McKay mentioned neither a dog nor Stronach. People might interpret his response as being aimed at Stronach, (which perhaps/quite likely it was), but he did not SAY it, and I would suggest that it's impossible to prove otherwise......and he has deniability.
Like PET kicked off an economic boom with fuddleduddle- fuddleduck wine, T shirts.
and John Crosbie gave Screaming Sheila the name for her book - Nobody's Baby. made her money.
Peter McKay has given the MSM a raisson d'etre. and they will milk even dollar out of the meaningless drivel they post as stories.
PS. IS saskboy a dipper??
Good on Lisa from London Fog...
She nailed it right on...
ENOUGH already about Belindazilla...she is is a wrecking machine... in all ways...
MUST we waste the nation's business on this idiotic nonsense. McGuinty set McKay up and as far as I can see, McKay did not bite... it was ALL McGuinty..
That McGunity bunch... tag team destructors.. David in Parliament, Dalton in Ontario... time to rid ouselves of liberal flotsam and jetsam and the sooner the better.
Now, if the CPC can clean it's own house and reign in that Ontario caucus we might get somewhere with the issues of importance to us all.
Belinda, Judy, Marlene... shape up or ship out.
And the sooner the better.
"Facts are facts......McKay mentioned neither a dog nor Stronach."
So calling you a wanking spin doctor isn't out of line, since I'm not saying who "you" is?
"
PS. IS saskboy a dipper??"
Cal, how about you ask me that, as if I'm here, duh? No, never have been.
Let's track back to Lisa and her astute perception and mindset regarding the bufoons.
Saskboy said: "So calling you a wanking spin doctor isn't out of line, since I'm not saying who "you" is"?
Police Officer: "The deceased approached me, your honor, and said, very clearly and distinctly, "Excuse me officer, but do you have the correct time"?.......which I took to mean that he was about to kill me, so I drew my sidearm and shot him three times".
Judge: "Quite within your rights, his intent was obvious. Case dismissed".
(Oh...BTW..quoting someone and then saying 'you' identifies the individual to whom you are referring.........and Belinda was not in the House at the time McKay spoke).
BTW, she didn't take her desk with her when she wasn't there.
Ignore all trolls, today is Saskboy's turn on SDA.

Sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me.
Calling me a troll is much easier than showing my point isn't right. Maybe calling me a bitch would be easier yet?
"Sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me."
They may not hurt you, but most people they do. The fact that a man can call a woman a dog in the House doesn't exactly bode well for professionalism or dispelling sexist attitudes in this country.
Saskboy,
Calm down. Relax.
I wouldn't call you a bitch.
I just don't feel like continously responding to irrelevant comments that are off topic.
Back to topic.
So....tell me what do you think of dog-gate, and to irrelevant uproar the Liberal Party is causing?
Belinda is an alley cat !!!!!!!!!!!!
saskboy it's right name you've chosen because a boy
and not a thinking man would comment as you have.
now run along and go play that's a good boy.
pete
An observation:
In seemingly direct proportion, the further left a female is, the uglier her appearance. I was watching question period and there were three women, each an MP in the three parties. The Conservative (unfortunately, I can't remember her name, though she's blond) was quite pretty; the Liberal was Belinda; and at the bottom of the scale was, well, a typical dipper, fat, short, and just plain ugly.
I've noticed this phenomenon with the Republicans and Democrats in the US as well.
So, there might be something to this 'dog' thing afterall. But then what word best describes a female member of the NDP?
It was a liberal mp who used the word dog, thereby telling all of us what the liberal party thinks of BS. I see another blond liberal has crossed to support Rae. What is it with blond liberal women. Wonder what he promised her if he wins. Wonder what she did to get that promise. Thoughts like that is the result of the msm and liberals making a big thing out of a liberal referring to belomi as a dog. What secrets of Iggys campaign will she reveal. Just think, belomi could have run for the leadership, but guess she knew about the adulteress charge to come.
Saskboy, re: "...if Ralph Goodale flipped Harper the bird, that wouldn't be in Hansard,..."
uh, do you mean like if Ralphie and friends flipped a profit in Income Trusts, Saskboy??
:))
Speaking of Income Trusts......anyone received an e-mail from Scott Brison lately?
One wonders if saskboy has ever watched Question Period. McGuinty childishly taunted Mackay for being jilted by Stronach. Mackay's spontaneous response was both restrained and witty.
Clearly he's too modest to admit what he said. Who cares?
He could, with justification, have referred to her as a disloyal trollop. He did not.
If this is a resigning offence there would be dozens of vacancies in Parliament.
Sorry saskboy. This dog won't hunt.
Let's move on and concentrate on building a bigger economic pie.
doesn't exactly bode well for professionalism
Saskboy, I agree with this although decorum in the House hasn't been professional for years - toddlers are better behaved.
dispelling sexist attitudes in this country.
Oh please. You, a male (if the boy part of saskboy is accurate), do not get to tell me, a woman, what is or isn't sexist. Actually, it's sexist that you think you can.
The Conservatives had better get onto Ralphy Goodale on his Income Trust fiasco, shut him up once and for all. He's getting away with far too much, his self reverence is beyond the pale.
Mckay should apologize to the empty chair he allegedly slandered through alleged innuendo? Are they all gone mad? All the dogs I know and have known are far above any phony dames in the Liberal party, screeching for an apology.
The Speaker of the House knows better too, he should put a stop to such nonsense and refuse to discuss something he's already ruled on.
If they keep on this track they'll be the losers, that's not what they were sent to Ottawa to do.
Another piece of slime is David McGuinty, he started the ball rolling for a reason, dirty "gottcha" politics. It doesn't get any cheaper.
That's all they have to offer.
saskboy isn't concerned about decorum or professionalism in the House of Commons. If he were, he would be going after McGuinty.
A lot of people have had relationships which are embarrasing. In this case, a successful lawyer and politician had a brief, poorly considered, relationship with woman whose major accomplishment in life is her choice of father.
How is it appropriate for him to be taunted about this mis-step while he's trying to do the nation's business by discharging the responsibilties of his senior portfolio.
Those demanding his resignation should be ashamed of their mean spirited animus. But they are Liberals and they don't know the meaning of the word shame.
"Oh please. You, a male (if the boy part of saskboy is accurate), do not get to tell me, a woman, what is or isn't sexist. Actually, it's sexist that you think you can."
LOL. I wasn't going to comment, but I had to tell you that made me laugh pretty hard. Good one!
And Pete, shouldn't you be thinking up witty responses to unleash in the House? ;-)
"saskboy isn't concerned about decorum or professionalism in the House of Commons. If he were, he would be going after McGuinty."
Way to put words in my mouth Terry. I don't want Peter to resign. I think possibly he could be fired for lying, but I understand that Harper doesn't have a lot of talent to draw from, so he has to hang on to damaged goods as best he can.
The Liberals shouting at MacKay while Ambrose was talking, are shameful too. I've attended classrooms that are better behaved than Question Period, and it's because of sound bytes, where the opposition tries to drown out either applause or announcements set to play on the news later.
And I'm not trying to steal Canadian Cynic's gig with my latest blog post. It's just such good comedic material though to ignore it, and I've already written the responses anyway... well I just like to keep my writing on my site too. I know Kate doesn't care for "flame wars" or "trolls", so you're invited to disagree with me over at my place if you're still inclined to defend MacKay.
Sorry, update:
Peggy Nash, NDP - Belinda Stronach, Liberal - Helena Georigeous, Conservative.
From an average CDN with no political affiliation I say let's get on with running this country like it should be...with integrity. The Liberals have shown Canadians once again why not to vote for them in the coming election. As an aside note, happy that Remembrance Day falls on a Saturday as I will take the opportunity to show my respect at the cenotaph in Ottawa.
saskboy,
you don't deserve my traffic so tell me here, "did you go after McGuinty"
Saskboy . are you a Lieberal?
alright , meet you at the bike rakes after school.
Terry, I don't think you "deserve" another answer since you didn't read the one already here.
Cal, how about you talk like a grown up, and/or use your sharp mind to figure it out. Hint: If you aren't averse to expanding your horizon like Terry, you'll figure it out in seconds.
Sticks and stones can break my bones but a 10,000 lb anvil leaves me feeling flat
