Over at Iraq The Model, Mohammed has some interesting thoughts about what has gone wrong in Iraq:
First is Sunni stupidity: The Sunni leaderships fell in the gravest mistakes the day they adopted the pan-Arab Baathist ideology of the past regime and stuck to the Saddamist ways without any consideration for the changes in the world in general and in Iraq in particular.Read it all. This post focuses on what Iraqis have done wrong, but he promises the next one will focus on the American side.Sunni leaders dragged the Sunni body into a confrontation with a superpower and with other components of the Iraqi people, and happened despite the fact that Sunni communities hardly fired a bullet at the allied forces back during OIF and made an unconditional surrender.

Iraq the Model is my favorite and most trusted source of news and opinion from Iraq. This piece you posted is perfect Iraq the Model, in that it is right to the point and blunt. I can hardly wait to see what is said about America.
With the news peace initiative started by the government; it'll be interesting to see if any of the above concerns and points are addressed or if the Iraq government will just dish out more of the same.
ITM is the best blog on the web and has been since in birth during the war. No offense to Kate.
note SDA is listed in the blog index.
is this some sort of new web age mutual-admiration-society love-in thing?
the internet has changed everything. for now, for the better.
Omar*s latest seems to correctly summarize all the bits and pieces picked up on various sites from AsianTimes to MichaelTotten. The dots seem to be joined quite nicely.
Let*s hope Foreign Affairs scans Omar*s site from time to time. = TG
