Gosh, vitruvius, I didn't recognize ONE person in your parade of pictures of chemical engineers over the centuries. Maybe that's because, except for one uncle who IS a chemical engineer (he's an anomaly in our family), most of my forebears are lawyers, clergy, or legistlators (a much more dignified word than "politician").

I'm impressed and fascinated by the equations...even though they are totally indecipherable to this mathematically challenged brain.

Canada could become a global powerhouse in carbon trading in the next few years because it is one of the world's largest per-capita greenhouse gas emitters and has open, transparent financial markets, said the heads of the Montreal Exchange and the Chicago Climate Exchange, who are set to start a new climate exchange in Canada.

The form will not be made public, though a broad outline of Annan's finances was revealed in the course of a probe into allegations of corruption and mismanagement in the U.N. oil-for-food program.
