My time is pretty much occupied at the Rushmore Civic Center in Rapid City, SD. (This afternoon we're celebrating two new champions, so the trip is already a success. New Am.Can.Ch.Minuteman Fixation and new Am.Can.Ch.Minuteman Wild Imagine Nation).

You can use the comments for the tips or blog posts you'd like to share.

Later. As I said, we're celebrating - rum and 10" keyboards don't mix.

(Uh Oh. I just looked out the window - it just started to snow.)

Congrats again. One of these days you are going to have to explain what Can.Am.Whichever means to us lay people.
BTW, do these critters have a better pedigree than say the Ottawa biatch??? LOL

Congrats, Kate. Hard work paying off. Have a nice trip.

I don't know what all the fuss is with Peter MaKay. After all a female dog is called a "bitch" and-and-and- well you get my drift.

Just ask Domi's wife.

Horny Toad

Woof! Woof! That's dog language for "Hot Dogs"!

Way to go, Kate, and canines!

(Hope it's dark rum--and no diet Coke.)

Congratulations, Kate!

I love it when there's something to celebrate. I even make up stuff to celebrate, like blogging milestones... heh...

Some folks are talking about the whole "dog" thing, as it relates to Boo-linda.

Well, I did a post myself.

CTV Gets Fact Wrong on MacKay's Dog

http://thecanadiansentinel.blogspot.com/2006/10/ctv-gets-fact-wrong-on-mackays-dog.html

More MSM stupidity and Conservative bashing. No one ever proved that the dog wasn't Peter's... it was a Liebrano accusation the MSM apparently still wants to treat as true...

Anyone got a copy of the Chow ad, comparing Olivia Chow to a dog. BS still wants an apology. Has she apologized to Tie's wife. An adulterer, complaining the conservatives have no respect for women. She is defending women's rights. What right, to screw around with another womans husband, get pregnant by some one night stand and then have an abortion. Sorry, she is a very poor example of a decent woman. What about the liberal who started all this with his comment, during another ministers speech. Fuddle Duddle.

I don't like being forced to pay his salary, but this Ignatieff spoof is pretty funny:

http://rickmercer.blogspot.com/2006/10/from-teleprompter-of-michael-ignatieff.html

"Let us now deal with the elephant in the room. While campaigning in Quebec I stated that Israel was guilty of war crimes. Please know I made these comments in French and never intended them to be heard by English voters. Clearly everything I have read about the two solitudes is a fallacy. I now believe that the bridge between French and English Canada is the fluently bilingual Toronto Jew. I encourage them to now join me.

In fact I would like to take a moment and speak directly to the good men and women of the Holy Blossom temple in Toronto. I say to you my Jewish friends – it’s Iggy time! (Pause for applause)

Please, please sit. There is more! (Wave finger)

In an effort to keep this story in the media during the coming weeks I have now decided to visit Israel for myself. I think you will agree that the crucial last days of a leadership race is the perfect time for a candidate to leave Canada.

Mesdames et Messieurs, j’aime Les Canadiens. Les Leafs de Toronto sont gay! Vive les Sens! Vive les Sens libre!"

I heard that Ti’s ex said that if Belinda were a dog
she’d be a cross between a Cockapoo and a Maltese;
A cockatease.

The Soul Pathology of the Beast With Red Cheeks

One of the things that a conservative realizes that a liberal doesn’t is that human beings are the problem. And this is why the classical liberalism embodied in the conservative intellectual movement will always be a tougher sell than leftism, because people naturally don’t want to believe that they are the problem, but that there is some simplistic political solution that will cure the disease of man.

I realize that characterization sounds harsh, but there is a sense in which you can think of human beings as a weird disease of the biosphere. However, you can also think of life as a sort of runaway cancer on the body of matter, and existence itself as a blight on the body of nothingness. After all, if there were no existence, there would be no problems either. To exist is to have a problem, if only because existence implies separation from the Source of our being. And that’s a big problem--a problem that it is the purpose of religion to redress.

The local manifestations of life and mind are relatively recent phenomena in the cosmos. ...-

Between estranged couples, *dog* is the most meek of invectives.

The Libranos are aware and should have let it go without comment or notice.

The failing liberals are grasping at straws.

In fact they are scraping the barrel bottom, somewhere very close to Jerry Springer.

If you stop and think about it, this tiny transgression, the word *dog*, can not possibly be allowed to stall things any further / longer.

Just consider the flood of really rich language used to skewer MPs every day,
and ask yourself just how low the Librano$ can stoop in the pursuit of shameless hypocrisy.

Not only do they squander our National wealth, but the Liberals derail our attention and our newscasts on the *terrible* word *dog*, when fundamentalist killers are building the momentum to overrun our troops, our freedoms, and our peaceful democratic way of life that so many of us take for granted.

Oh the wailing and the grief, if through more *pulled - punches*, we manage to lose it all. = Damn Librano$! = TG

"Adonis" is a poet and a Syrian exhile famous in Europe for being a harsh critic of Islam and the Arab world. In the Arab world he is also well-known, for poems like this:

I shall sing for Qom, that it may transform itself in my ecstacy / into a raging conflagration which surrounds the Gulf / The people of Iran write to the West: / Your visage, O West, is crumbling / Your face, O West, has died

At www.signandsight.com/features/993.html
German author Khalid al-Maaly makes the case, or rather presents ample evidence, that this pattern of presenting two different faces -- one to the west and another to the Arab world -- is more or less standard form among Arab intellectuals.

At one point he notes anecdotally: "Two months after the 9/11 attacks, during an Arab book fair, a rumour suddenly made the rounds that an aircraft had crashed into a high-rise building in Italy. Many people immediately thought this was a repeat of the previous attacks on America. Numerous publishers and editors shouted Allahu akbar (God is great) and welcomed the presumed act..."

He goes on to note that "Some of these intellectuals are welcome guests at conferences on Euro-Arab dialogue."

I have a friend who could not think of a good name for her dog, so she calls it dog, and spells it when calling him.(pronounced dee oh gee.) Would BS be insulted by that. My friend is 3 yrs old, but I think it's cute. Were the liberals so stupid they thought everyone would forget BS's little sexual escapades, or being named as the other woman in a divorce case. Libs have short memories, but we don't.

At CTV's site there's a "Top Story" that pretty transparently is a not-so-subtle warning shot fired by the Lib-proxy MSM over the bow of those bloggers who support Stephen Harper and conservative government in general. After making a cursory story out of the tidbit that websites "linked to" by the "official" Blogging Tories website are calling Stronach names, and generally elaborating on MacKay's alleged slur, here's how this "Top Story" news-piece concludes:

"The websites listed at www.bloggingtories.ca have no official ties to the Conservative government.

But in recent weeks, the sites have run the same media talking points as those issued by senior officials in government.

And they have mounted fierce public relations campaigns against government programs that later wound up being axed or downsized, including the Court Challenges Program -- a fund that paid for legal challenges that won new rights for women, minorities, the disabled and gays and lesbians since the 1970's."

I think someone's coming. Here's a link, it's long, so I'll break it into three lines:

I've just voted on the G & M poll question about the response--BY WHOM is unstated--to the Peter MacKay comment. The question reads, "Has the response to Peter MacKay's 'dog' comment been . . . "

"Overblown"'s ahead of "Inadequate" by a very small margin (44% to 41%). The poll's got another option too, "Fitting," which is well behind (15%).

But, if the tricksy G & M--am I glad I cancelled my subscription!--pools "Inadequate" and "Fitting" to their altogether inadequate--actually, invalid--question, "Overblown" will be overruled.

So, please make a trip to the G & M website and cast your vote.

Nuke plants long overdue at Tech Museum

One more scheme draining away your tax dollars.
Nuclear power is a terrible drain on our public funds under the cloak of **hidden economy funding**. The secretive nature of nuclear allows that, while a powerful lobby protects Nuke power generating interests. Nuke plants belong in the tech museum.

=============== You decide. ==================

An electrical generation capacity of 16,000 Megawatts has evolved in Germany over the last twelve years as a result of the renewable energy law. New facilities with 3000 Megawatts were realized in 2003 alone. If this initial rate were reproduced over the next 50 years, a total capacity of 166,000 Megawatts would result, equivalent to conventional capacities of 55,000 Megawatts.

Nevertheless it is a very widespread fallacy to think in isolated substitution steps and ignore increasing efficiency potentials. Renewable Energy has unimagined advantages. Short energy chains replace long energy chains from the mines to the final consumer with losses of energy at every step of conversion and transformation. A relatively few highly centralized power plants will be superseded by many decentralized facilities. The need for wide-area infrastructure development declines dramatically.

Four additional reasons speak against the future viability of nuclear power: ==============

- Their enormous water requirements for steam processes and cooling conflicts with intensified water emergencies due to climate change and the water needs of the growing world population.
- The excess heat of nuclear power plants is poorly suited for combined heat and power generation because of the high financial burdens of district heating systems appropriate to central nuclear power blocks.
- The danger of nuclear terrorism, not only by missile attacks on reactors, continues to grow with the intensification of asymmetrical conflicts.
- Full-load operation of capital-intensive nuclear reactors that is indispensable for their profitability can only be guaranteed if governments again regulate the electricity markets and obstruct alternatives. The nuclear economy remains a (concealed) state economy.

this from our fav daily the t. star:

Like the cityscape and burning buses littered through the streets, these soldiers are computer-generated. They're part of a new military simulation program, based on a video game, the Canadian Forces has agreed to buy.

Each soldier stands in a round "pod" and is given a mock M4 machine gun equipped with wireless receivers and virtual reality headsets that pan left or right and up or down to reflect the wearer's movements.

Soldiers preparing to deploy to Afghanistan may soon begin training on the military simulator, developed by U.S. company Alliance Cyberspace and its Toronto-based partner Nytric.

Nytric's president, Avanindra Utukuri, 32, and his small staff have spearheaded a number of projects in recent months and sales have surpassed the $2 million-a-year mark, Utukuri said.

The Canadian government will pay $1.5 million for the software and the companies are awaiting word from the military to proceed with plans

how many restaurants have you been to?

at 1 per month Ive hit roughly 500.

know what I detest the most about these places?

waitresses that huff and roll their eyes and tsk when advised separate checks are to be generated.

Ive decided I am no longer going to tolerate anything remotely resembling a look of frustration or annoyance and the last place I went to I popped in a week before and told them the group I was coming in with would require separate checks and I better not see any petulance or it would be our last appearance.

they assured me that wasnt going to happen and it didnt.

so any waitress types out there you have been warned. things are different now and the convenience of having all the customers in the same place making it vastly easier to unload the food plates definitely outweighs the 'inconvenience' of having to do a tiny bit more adding in your pretty little self centred head.

Look what happened in Newfoundland. A little fire accidently burned a little wire and the whole Province lost not only 911 support, but internet service too! In today*s news.

What a disgrace to happen in wealthy Canada; a world leader in communications but a world laughing - stock in the tolerance for idiot Librano$ governance.

If Qwerty were running things, there would have been power independent hubs around the province so that any failure would only affect a small area.

And today, the idiot Librano$ are taking up our news services and our national governance with some screeching about the word *DOG*, while the Jihadists cells organize and plan to take over Canada.

Guess that makes us idiots too, for being so apathetic and not protesting.

BBC Stars Admit Insanely Obvious Bias

As if we didn’t already know. As if it weren’t as obvious as a smack in the eye.

We are biased, admit the stars of BBC News. (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

It was the day that a host of BBC executives and star presenters admitted what critics have been telling them for years: the BBC is dominated by trendy, Left-leaning liberals who are biased against Christianity and in favour of multiculturalism.

A leaked account of an ‘impartiality summit’ called by BBC chairman Michael Grade, is certain to lead to a new row about the BBC and its reporting on key issues, especially concerning Muslims and the war on terror.

It reveals that executives would let the Bible be thrown into a dustbin on a TV comedy show, but not the Koran, and that they would broadcast an interview with Osama Bin Laden if given the opportunity. Further, it discloses that the BBC’s ‘diversity tsar’, wants Muslim women newsreaders to be allowed to wear veils when on air.

At the secret meeting in London last month, which was hosted by veteran broadcaster Sue Lawley, BBC executives admitted the corporation is dominated by homosexuals and people from ethnic minorities, deliberately promotes multiculturalism, is anti-American, anti-countryside and more sensitive to the feelings of Muslims than Christians. ...-

Tories cozy up to radical farmers' group

Explains opposition to new water law
Oct. 21, 2006. 04:23 PM
IAN URQUHART

The Clean Water Act was voted into law by the Ontario Legislature this week, a culmination of a process that began with the Walkerton water disaster in 2000.

........

So, was the Conservative vote this week just a case of politics as usual at Queen's Park, where all too often anything the government does the opposition parties oppose, even if it is something they said they would do?

Not exactly. There is a story behind this week's vote on the Clean Water Act, and it is worth telling.

In the 2007 provincial election, the Conservatives are targeting 16 rural ridings held by the Liberals. The act is unpopular in these ridings, thanks to a fear-mongering campaign about downloading of costs and even expropriation without compensation.

At the forefront of that campaign is a rural group called the Ontario Landowners Association, which claims 25,000-plus members. The association has never seen a government regulation it likes. Its signs, which you can see dotted about the countryside, declare: "This land is our land, back off government."

The association's website says this about the Clean Water Act:

"The perfect storm of injustice is tracking for, and is soon to converge over, rural Ontario. Powered by the winds of deceptive environmentalism and a rising tide or regulated fascism, the heavy squalls of social apathy approach. At the storm's eye is Bill 43, the Clean Water Act. When the storm hits, pounding rains of tyranny will overcome the dykes and walls of common sense that surround and protect Canadians from injustice."

The Conservatives are cozying up to the authors of the preceding paragraph. Conservative Leader John Tory spoke to a meeting of the landowners association earlier this year. And earlier this month, Tory's chief of staff, Bob Chant, and two Conservative MPPs flew to Ottawa for a private meeting with the association's leaders. (voy forums) ...-
