CJunk - defends the honour of knitters from the needling of heiress politicians.

"John Wright, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for Ipsos Reid stated, "All I can say is that this is the first time I can recall doing a poll like we did: The Montreal Gazette asked the polling firm Leger to poll Quebec on the topic...they wrote the questions and did the poll and then we received the exact translations from our client, CanWest, who asked to run them, as is, in the rest of Canada. So, we had no involvement and influence on them except the data collection itself and a corresponding write up."

Media watching in Winnipeg;

The Free Press, with a straight face, declares that the existence of the alleged controversies shows that what wasn't wrong, should be wrong, and therefore, Katz was wrong, even if he was right.

I know I'm off to a slow start today. It's not entirely my fault. Yes, they drank me under the table. I admit it. On the other hand, at least I wasn't seen swapping spit with the local barfly.

Is this for real? Surely this must be an error. first you can't yell at the poor darlings in boot camp lest they get their egos bruised and now this. mind you Taliban Jack doesn't want our soldiers anywhere near anyplace that they might get shot at so what's the diff? I'm just waiting for some zealot to try and get a disabled person enlisted. Wheelchair accessable tanks anyone?

Although I doubt it will happen, wouldn't it be a hoot if B.S. lost her seat in the next election?

I guess Magna's been having it rough since she left... too many uncounted paper clips, I suppose. Would dad want her back? Not that her former position at Magna had anything to do his involvement. No, there's NO QUESTION she made it on her own, I'm sure. Yep.

CTV headline: Youths set buses ablaze in suburban Paris

Have you guessed who the Paris "youths" are?

The rest of the AP story goes on to blame - wait for it - the French government. That's right, these "youths" are oppressed and are therefore justified in their gun-weilding, bus-burning rampage.

"Belinda, what's that?"
"Oh, a sweater for Tie for Christmas".

I wonder what the Salvation Army thinks about bs's comments re knitters. How many mittens and touuqes are donated to them during the winter. We can be sure all the liberal women think this is a useless task. She should shut up and disappear. Question period was rather lively. Imagine Graham being upset that the Consevatives are not happy at how they have gutted the crime bills. The libs are now prepared to pass 6 of these gutted bills, and blame Harper for obstruction. I think the next election will have the question, majority or minority govt. Harper is sure bringing up all the bills being held up for over 100 days in the senate. Any news on who is running in the London election, or que.

So thats what bs looks like in disquise.

Re; the Free Press yep that's our local rag allrighty.

Make stuff up then hide your retraction/admission while claiming it was ok to make things up because the fact you did it proves it was ok.....MMMKAY?

The cbc is running commercials for Death of a President, aka Pres Bush. Even the msm in the US refused to do this. This is a low as the M J Fox commercial.

the folly of 'gun control' is 3 part;

first, there are well laid out and strict procedures to just get the FAC let alone the actual handgun or other firearm. amongst the criteria is absence of serious prior conviction for violent crime. sort of.

anyway, lots of gang boys and street hoodlums for one reason or another cant get the FAC because of priors. thats crime # 1 against them.

crime #2 occurs when they go out and acquire a handgun anyway. you need the documentation which they cant get, and just having possession of the firearm without the corresponding FAC is itself a crime. thats crime # 2.

what do they get the handgun for? target practice? collectors item? curiousity? no, they steal or otherwise get these weapons to commit robbery and murder.

and thats crime # 3.

the present registry totally and always has IGNORED this aspect of managing firearms in canada.

we tried to tell alan rock that on parliament hill in the mid 90s but he was a liberal cabinet member eyeing the PMO so he didnt listen.

It was that or the waiter! heh heh

It is kind of hard to crow with the roosters if you are going to howl with those two coyotes.

Fox Responds To Limbaugh's Accusations

KYW.COM ^
Fox Responds To Limbaugh's Accusations (CBS News) Responding to criticism by conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, actor Michael J. Fox defended his appearance in a political campaign ad, saying he wasn't acting or off his medication. In fact, at the time he was over-medicated for his Parkinson's disease, Fox said in an exclusive interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric. "The irony is that I was too medicated, I was dyskinesic," Fox told Couric. "Because the thing about, the thing about being symptomatic is that it's not comfortable. No one wants to be symptomatic; it's like being hit with a... ...-

Poll at ctv "Justin Trudeau has weighed in on the Quebec political debate, calling nationalism a small, old idea 'from the 19th century.'"

Just caught the CBC news which included an item by Alison Smith about the controversy in the US over the Michael J. Fox stem cell ads, in which she refers to Rush Limbaugh as "the notorious right-winger" Rush Limbaugh. Not the "popular conservative" Rush Limbaugh, or the "influential" Rush Limbaugh, or even the "controversial" Rush Limbaugh, but the "notorious right-winger".
To think she could make such a statement without the least inkling that it might be controversial. As though this were the universally accepted view held by all right thinking Canadians. I guess considering the Liberal Orthodoxy that prevails at the CBC, this would be the nearly universal view in her world. Which, of course, is one of the problems with the CBC.

2003 Document: Hundreds of Palestinian Terrorists to Join Saddam And Fight US Troops (Translation)

Document CMPC-2003-015588.pdf which is dated March/25/2003 talks about a meeting between Iraqi Officials in Damascus and the leaders of the Popular Front For the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) a terrorist group lead by Ahmad Gibril. The Palestinians pledged 500 fighters including groups that they call “Istish’Hadeyea” which means “Suicide Martyrdom” i.e. “Suicide Terrorists” to come to Iraq and fight the US lead collation troop. The group also included terrorists who are IED experts and car bombs experts. These hundreds of Palestinians terrorists were to go to Iraq through Syria. The Iraqis approved this Palestinians offer, and in handwritten note over the typed memo; “Taha Yassin Ramadan who is Saddam Chief Deputy” not only approved it but he wanted to know the time of arrival of these terrorists and where to meet them on the Syrian/Iraqi borders so they can send the vehicles to pick them up. What is also interesting in the memo is that the PLF was working with Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other Palestinian Organizations to increase the suicide operations they call it “Feedaeya” inside Israel so it will coincide with the war against the coalition troops.

This is another document which proves that it was Saddam Hussein who brought the “Foreign Terrorists” to Iraq, those terrorists that have caused so much death and destruction to the Iraqi people and Iraqi infrastructures and they are still doing it until now. Other documents that have been translated and posted here on FR talk about the Iraqi training the “Foreign Terrorists” and a Saddam memo to treat them as equally as the Iraqi Special Forces.

As the moniker implies...I am fed up with the direction in which my country, Canada, is headed. Hopefully the average Canadian can come to their senses and realize the damage done by previous Liberal governments and elect the CPC to a majority so that our GREAT country can once again be proud of herself. Hoping for serious change next election.

HARPER ACCUSES LIBERALS OF BEING 'HALF TOUGH ON CRIME'

The Liberals offered Thursday to fast track the passage of more than half of the Tory's tough-on-crime legislation,

but Prime Minister Stephen Harper quickly dismissed the offer as evidence of the Opposition's soft stance on crime.

"Half measures. That is not what they promised the Canadian people. We're doing what we promised," Mr. Harper said at a press conference in Ottawa, where he was meeting with Mexican president-elect Felipe Calderon. ...-

Harper's Senate reform plan clears first hurdle in upper house

OTTAWA (CP) - Prime Minister Stephen Harper's plan to impose term limits on Canadian senators cleared its first hurdle Thursday.

... Moreover, senators on the committee agreed with the government's contention that it needs only the approval of the two houses of Parliament to proceed with the change. There is no need to ask the Supreme Court to clarify whether provincial consent is required, the committee concluded. ...
Imposing a term limit is just the first step in Harper's plan to overhaul the appointed upper house. He has said he also intends to introduce this fall a process for electing senators.

In a separate report, the committee urged senators to support a private member's motion to increase the representation of western provinces in the Senate. ...- cnews

Tone it down, qwerty.

Kate, I just read on Darceys' blog that the hotel you took him to required the bar bill be paid in cash, beforehand. And dinner was cash or check (!) , no credit cards and no ATMs. Did I read that right? If so, OMG. That is pretty funny. It sounds like a step back in time (except for the sound of the VLTs whirring in the background).

Ya gotta give your head a shake or maybe I should because I also just read that Sask does not have daylight savings time and that actually made me consider a move to Sask as DST screws us up big time here in the concrete biz. IMHO, no DST is something that Sask gets right.

Oh yeah, Darcey, you look pretty good there, kissing that bar dog. That pic should come in useful for many many future story lines. lol
