why don't we kick france out of Nato and boycott everything they make? There are lots of good wines coming out of Australia now days...

It appears that france will do anything to help and hide the cultural mess they have created at home. It would sure read well in gay old paris, france fires missile at Israeli over flight, of course under the skirt of the un. All the surrender monkeys could then jump up and down on their lily pads in self-satisfaction. It is said most nations die from suicide not murder, well france, it appears the muslim hemlock is taking hold.

How about Hezbollah's next Sudetenland pretext for aggression the Shebaa farms?

As soon as they get rearmed of course, and locate all their firing positions within civilian areas, clean out all the morgues to show those who died of "Israeli aggression", yada, yada, yada...

This is just the calm before the next storm, when Hezbollah openly hooks up with Ahmadinejad to 'wipe Israel off the map'.

France is not a member of NATO.
We've had the dubious pleasure of spending the better part of a century bailing them out, and defending them, in spite of them.
The question is now, do we continue to defend them from the newest threat?
France is a moral and philosophical welfare-case. Has been for generations.
The only way to get people off welfare is to cut off the welfare. But can we afford to sit back and
watch a European country collapse into fascism, no matter how much they deserve it? Hmmmm...
Anyway, they're not a member of NATO, and if they fire on the IDF, they will not have my sympathies for whatever comes back at them.

Isreal is also re-arming, without a doubt. Next time she will not give in to all the bs about civilian deaths. Just maybe Lebanon and Iran will be wiped off the map. We can only hope. I was aware that France had pulled out of NATO militarily in 1966. I was unaware they had rejoined militarily in 1993. And I still think that their membership is weak at best, when using the scale of "boots on the ground".

Then there is the talk of asking Isreal to join NATO, opening another potential can of worms.

It does seem to be time for a new organization, to supercede NATO and be independent of the UN. The Union of Democracies? Membership limited to liberal constitutional democracies?

I don't really care that the frogs quit in '66. I'm shocked and appalled that we let them back in...

What the hell were we thinking? They are less than useless.

If France was to fire on the IDF while continuing to turn a blind eye to Hezbollah arms shipments, that would be a declaration of armed support for Hezbollah. Given that the Hezbollah "non-nation entity" is at war with Israel it would be difficult for a military action not to be further interpreted as an act of war against Israel by a UN member nation.

Israel's armed forces are reeling from the lack of a quick clear victory over Hezbollah while having one hand tied behind its' back. The restraints on the withheld arm would come off instantly with any armed French action against Israel. Israel is trying its' best to recognize some vestige of value with having UN membership but if France turns treacherous, Israel's UN membership becomes worthless.

The French may find out first hand some things about Israel that Egypt, Jordan and Syria already have.

Now, if the French elites were really that bright they could snag out of their time in Lebanon one more emotional, champagne flowing, liberation for themselves. They could shoot down an Israeli aircraft as soon as possible, surrender to Israel immediately, then, demand at the UN an Israeli occupation of France. It would be a cunning use of their perpetual weasel, surrender and liberation cycles. Dhimmitude would be behind them.

What would be the result of Israel firing on french forces even if they were fired at first? The U.N. would most likely pass an embargo of all trade with Israel for firing on poor "blue helmeted peace keepers". The MSM would have a field day bashing "Zionists" moreso than they do already.

I wouldn't feel too smug. Just where will the French flee when things fall apart there?
Probably somewhere that gives them preferred status as immigrants, has socialized medicare, subsidized daycare, and preferred hiring into the civil service. Personally, I really hope they turn things around there.
