Is the Midterm Tide Shifting?

Or - as a caller to Rush Limbaugh suggested last week - might it be those pollsters who have been oversampling Democrats to help efforts by the liberal-left media to discourage the GOP base, are now forced to correct their methodology to preserve their credibility when the election results come down.

Because it's starting to feel like deja vu all over again.

The Republicans are going to cheat like hell (especially with the use of satanic Diebold machines) and do better than expected in the elections, bet your bottom dollar on it. Pay attention to unexplained gaps in exit polls vs. "official" results; the cold, hard reality is that America is no longer a democracy, or even a republic.

Anyone who supports the use of Diebold-style voting machines should be stripped of their assets and exiled from the North American continent.

Will the Dems be slashing tires again this time? Will the Dems be perpetrating East St Louis-like election fraud again this election? Stay tuned.

Could it be the thought of Pelosi being 2 heartbeats away from the oval office, or Rangles threat to cut off all funding for the military, or Waxmans threat to investigate every document issued in the past 6 yrs, are waking people up. As for exit polls-people lie to the reporters, just to watch their long faces on election night.
There has been a shift in coverage and projections in the msm, to COA when they are proved wrong. Turnout will depend on the propositions on the ballot of various states. If the dems win, and do all the things they promise, nothing will get done, and they will pay for it in 2008. They are between a rock and a hard place.
And, if the republicans hold on, will all the leftist kooks in the msm in the US and Canada shut up. Clinton is responsible for the WTC and the still missing OBL, and also for the tainted blood being sold in Canada, and many other things. But, like the harm done by PET to Canada, the kooks will not admit their god has morals.

Sorry, that should be NO MORALS.

"Pay attention to unexplained gaps in exit polls vs. "official" results"

Exactly - because exit polls commissioned by (and then leaked - Wonkette, stand by!) by media interests with openly Democratic editorial stances are more credible than you know, counting actual ballots cast by voters.

I'm not sure the RNC playing the race card and fast and loose with the facts in Tennessee (Ford Jr. attending a Super Bowl party in Detroit sponsored by Playboy is NOT the same as being in the grotto at 1:00 AM)and Rush Limbaugh making fun of Michael J Fox's Parkinson tremors, no matter what the reason, is not helpful. It smacks of desperation and the average voter will sense that (like the SK NDP still blaming Devine for all the ills)

I suspect that at least one pollster up here in Canuckland might've been doing what the Yankee ones might've been doing, or something else to skew the results against the Conservatives in order to help the MSM help the Liberals try to fool folks into thinking they have some kind of momentum. I remember a poll saying the CPC and LPC were tied. Now, however, the CPC appears, via other pollsters with less-blatant, freer (in my view) anti-Conservative biases, to be comfortably in the lead.

And it was interesting to have seen a narrowly-defined poll claiming that women are turning away from the Tories... just after the Puppygate thing was sparked by the left. Suspicious. Possible vast, left-wing conspiracy? Hmm? The leftist parties and the MSM often appear to be operating in a coordinated fashion whenever there's any opportunity to chuck poo at conservatives. Same old, same old...

The Republicans are going to cheat like hell

otj, To the best of my knowledge, there is no equivalent to Elections Canada in the US - the elections are run by the States and the individual districts decide what type of ballot will be used.

If that is correct, Democrats are running some of the elections. Seems to me that if there'll be cheating, the Dems will be doing some? most? all? of it. Is that a concern to you?

And BTW about exit polls - what Kate said.

maryT,

Didn't you mean to say.

RUSH LIMBAUGH HAS NO MORALS.

The difference in exit polls and the real vote is easy to explain.

the exit polls are done by early afternoon , by that time the entitlement crowd have finished voting, the working stiffs vote after the exit polls are generated, having got off work and home by 6, whereas the others are already on their duffs hoping the democrats form the next gubmint.

Duffism is even greater in Canada , with half the country , 25%civil servants, 15% retired, 8% unemployed all on entitlements.

No, it is the kooks who have no morals. The msm has no morals. And, many of the hollywood crowd have no morals. But, they all consider clinton their god, same as libs think pet was a god, and neither could do no wrong. Already Rush is right is his stmts a few weeks ago, saying watch for the msm to start to coa, and for stories coming out about election fraud. See post #1. There is no way in hell that the dem/kooks/leftists/envirowackos etc think of Rush as their God.

The one thing the US could adopt from Canada is a national Election USA, who set the rules, maintain lists and are responsible for all recounts and decisions. The democrats have run crooked elections for years, aka JFK in Chicago. The Florida fiasco was in a democratic county, run by democrats, and their attempt to fix the election backfired big time. Notice it is the democrats that object to a voter ID and photo, because many of their voters would be banned. If I could vote Nov 7, I would vote Republican, just to watch all the talking heads in the media, and strategists, and others, have apoplexy at the results. Watching Begala and Carville last election was priceless. Even L. King was striken.
Both Dem and Rep incumbents will lose and Dem and Rep newcomers will win. Should be a long night. Now there are stories out that even if they win, the dems will not be able to change much, or get much done. The dems in the house and senate have worked for 6 years to hold up legislation, just like our liberal senate in Canada is holding up and changing bills. The Nov 7 election will not increase bipartisanship. And, Bush still has the veto.

If one uses an ATM, buys at any store, gets gas, or any other other product, they get a receipt. So, why no paper trail for voting machines. But, even if one got a receipt after voting, how many would look to see if it recorded the right people. And, in case of a recount, would every voter have to bring back said receipt. Use your credit card, 2 receipts are printed, sign one, keep one. Then of course, they could always go back to the paper ballot, but I am sure the dems would complain that certain groups don't know what end of a pencil to use.

Ooops. ACORN caught cheating with voter registration again. Same folks that were caught cheating in the last election. And, otj, they are Dems, the same Dems that were tried and convicted of slashing Republican van tires on election day in another city. Google Dem voter fraud. They are the masters of voter fraud. From JFK to all of the late Chicago Mayor Daley's dead voters.

Dem strategists on CNN today concerned that they maybe peaked too soon. And, the MJF ad has pushed Iraq off the front pages. I know, Rowe did it on purpose. And another reporter mentioned the thought of Pelosi and Reid as leaders will bring the Replicans out in droves. Also stated that with all the media hype for weeks that is all over, democrats might stay home. The msm seems to be setting the dems up for a fall. Polls are getting closer.

"those pollsters who have been oversampling Democrats to help efforts by the liberal-left media to discourage the GOP base, are now forced to correct their methodology to preserve their credibility when the election results come down."

Hardly. Just poor sampling techniques and changing voting patterns as the day approaches. Many voters, sadly, don't make up their minds until they get into the booth.

The AARP "don't vote" commercials sound to me like they are made by Democrats trying to convince Republicans to please, please, pretty please, stay home.

I know many people here have never visited the "slashdot.org" website. That site ("news for nerds") have covered the e-voting machines (especially Diebold) in depth. Three recent articles revealed 1) Republicans did surprisingly well in normally Democratic districts in the last few elections if those districts were using e-voting machines, 2) a senior executive at Diebold is also a senior member of the Republican re-election committee, and 3) an independent writer laid out a blue print on just how easy it was to compromise Diebold's machines. I don't trust those machines for a second, and I was glad to hear that Quebec has decided to ban them for the time being. I don't think there is anything wrong with the paper ballot system we use now, and I think e-voting machines offer massive opportunities for fraud in a world filled with technological illiterates who wouldn't notice if they were victims of massive tampering.

I think we have to admit it here: the Democrats are going to win the House for certain, and have a good crack at the Senate. Some of my American friends suggest that may be the best thing for the US - a deadlocked government that can't function is a government that does the least harm.
