IRB Manual: How to get a date

I've heard some pretty bad lines in my time, but this one (from ctv.ca) takes the cake:

"...If we do this and it's shown I did this for improper purposes, then you are screwed too. We are both screwed..."
Can you believe she didn't take him up on that great offer? Picky, picky, picky.

Kudos to "Kim" and her boyfriend for having the chutzpah to tape the jerk. Kudos to the chairman of the IRB for immediately suspending him and calling in the RCMP.

I wonder how the accused will feel about abusing power to procure sex in the not-so-distant future?

It's widely known in the Vancouver area that immigration bureaucrats are unaccountable, self-important offshoots of the Natural Ruling Party. No one should be misled into thinking that this one instance which happened to be fortuitously (for accountability junkies) documented is a one-off.

Some people will misuse their power: That is a given in any power structure. Thus, we must have systems in place to stop misuse. Those systems will not stop ALL misuse of power, but they will lower the numbers to a manageable level. This is the base theory of all QA & legal systems.

At one and the same time, we must ensure that the system used to stop misuse of power does not in and of itself create misuse / injustice. Unfortunately, that is where we are in the area of male sexuality.

It is all a balancing act. The boyfriend caught this bad guy, good. Someone else failed to catch that other bad guy. Some other man was barred from an airplane because the only seat available was next to an unaccompanied child. We catch some bad guys and hurt some innocent ...

So? So we need to always act on the bad behavior and always plan to work hard at creating as few bad situations as is possible, always a shifting quicksand of competing rights and obligations.

The readers of Small Dead Animals consistently and unanimously support a huge immigration rate and an open immigration policy which leads to this sort of thing. Monte Solberg is possibly a worse immigration minister than Joe Volpe ever was.

Bob's off his meds again!

Does anyone know who appointed Ellis to his job?
I will not comment regarding the Minister in Ottawa. He obviously had nothing at all to do with this case. "bob's" mommy must be embarrased.

A huge immigration rate, and an open immigration policy leads to judges abusing power? Erm, whaaa?

Bob, time to crawl back into your hole. Of all your past idiotic postings, this one is the most bizzare. You need counseling and therapy. I try not to feed trolls but when you read the crap you post, I just can't help it. I am gradually coming to the realization that you just crave attention. I know, I am feeding you what you want but man, what a putz!!!!!

I just cought part of the commentator Mr. Fife on CTV this am. Apparently the judge may have some involvement with funds and the Liberal party. The comment Mr. Fife made related to judge's not being politicaly involved. No matter how much I learn about Liberal corruption I am amazed at their audacity.

Well how about this story:

Ex-judge sentenced to six years for taking bribes

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20060629.GUILTY29/TPStory/National

MONTREAL -- A former Canadian immigration judge who fixed rulings in exchange for bribes was given a six-year jail sentence yesterday and a scolding that he had dishonoured Canada's immigration system.

Yves Bourbonnais oversaw a scheme to solicit as much as $15,000 from newcomers to the country in exchange for favourable rulings.

"The scheme was like a pyramid, and he was at the top of the pyramid," prosecutor Lucio Garcia said in an interview. "It put the whole immigration system into disrepute."

Mr. Bourbonnais's guilty plea on 30 counts relating to obstruction of justice grew from a lengthy RCMP investigation. It uncovered a well-oiled arrangement to sell influence within the immigration board.

Why would any self respecting Canadian have any confidence that the rubes running the place have an ounce of integrity?

So now your appeal to the IRB gets granted for $15,000.00 or a little tryst if the judge figures your attractive?

Is anyone surprised that the cleanup of the IRB is going to take sometime before all the 'deadwood' is identified and taken out to the trash?

I guess this is why Joe Volpe wanted so many strippers from Romania. The judges weren't 'getting enough at home'.

Great system, where corruption and lechery are the order of the day.

Are there any good Toronto city counsellers, sitting or ex?

Ellis was appointed by the Liberals in 2002. He must be a hardcore Lib, these appointments to IRB are cash for life.

This is disgusting. I wonder if this kind of corruption is endemic within the Canadian immigration system, or even more broadly within the state bureaucracy-for-life system. All citizens should keep a closer eye on government officials. Please keep on top of this story. I hope suspension of this official is not the final result. This man should be criminally prosecuted.

What a greaseball puke you are, Ellis.

Oh, wait a minute! I didn't realize you had Liberal connections.

I guess that excuses you then, eh?

Mr. Ellis . . . entitled to his entitlements . . . as are all Lieberals.

in the years and months leading up to the hand over of Hong Kong, cdn immigration offices in the colony were rife with bribe takers, mostly the way to jump the queue.

thousands of vulnerable Hong Kong citizens learning right from the start the way to succeed in canada is to grease the palms.

ellis needs to do about 5 years in prison.

They we're right; ".. without a video nobody would believe her".

Surveillence cameras can solve a lot of horrific crimes. In the court room the camera doesn't lie, spin, twist the facts. Can you imagine the affect on the Judge and Jury of seeing a child being tortured, molested, sexually assaulted, murdered ?? Bernardo. Yet the perpetrator is often free to go because the political correct thing to do is blame society. How many times did TV show us the happy Bernardo/Homolka wedding ? Can't be them.

The media, so they say, does not show terrorists beheading Westerners because it is too horrific for TV. Is that the real reason ?

How would the Liberals have spun this guy's behavior without the video ?? Right to privacy in a public place ? Bull, it is a public place, I'll scratch my ass in private.

Bob, just to set your muddled brain straight :
I think that most participants of the SDA site would support an open and fair immigration policy which would welcome earnest, honest, hard-working immigrants who want to become part of Canada's culture. Conversely, most people frequenting this site do NOT support a corrupt, inept immigration department and a corrupt and inept justice system which turns a blind eye to the thousands of immigrants still here under deportation orders, many for serious criminal charges. Same can be said for a system that allowed entry to Canada for those radical elements who obviously hate our country and are intent on destroying it. This sad state of affairs has nothing to do with the wishes of the SDA pundits, or the current government in Ottawa, but everything to do with the 13-year Liberal regime of apathy, arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that spawned this sorry mess.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Bob.

Can you believe that Bob's solution to doing away with crocked immigration judges is to stop immigration completely? That is what he seems to be suggesting. Vacuous idiot!

With only a few keystrokes Bob dominates yet another thread.

Perhaps if the trolls here listened to Kate's repeated requests not to act like idiots then my logical arguments wouldn't receive such incredible publicity. Sadly, some trolls find my commentary to be so astonishingly powerful that they are compelled to obsess over me, to the exclusion of the rest of the world's issues. Maybe instead of hurling insults (trolling, in other words) you pretards could pool your money together and hire a smart person to provide rebuttal to my factually accurate and logical arguments for once?

Bob, since I'm guest-blogging, I haven't a clue if you are a troll or not. However, your "factually accurate and logical arguments" make no sense at all, you must not have read the links.

The judge was appointed in 2002.

Monte Solberg has been Minister for what, six months?

In future, your comments will be ignored by me, anyway.
