I noticed that the news agencies reported very little about this.

They of course, focussed on the handful of protesters who were present when President Karzai arrived in Ottawa.

And they gave lots of attention to Taliban Jack.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but as a major news agency (CBC, CTV, etc), it would be nice to see some balance.

Makes me wonder whose side they're on.

Ann: You have to wonder?

We KNOW whose side they're on: the CBC with our hijacked tax $$! It makes my blood boil.

And we wonder why so many Canadians are dupes. When one's fed s**t every day by the MSM, one's brain soon becomes about as effective at thinking as a mushroom.

If a critical mass of Canadians doesn't wake up soon to the real and present danger of creeping dhimmitude--Here. In Canada. I'm not making this up.--this group of "useful idiot" Canadians will, unfortunately, get just what they deserve. Too bad the rest of us will too.

The above three comments encapsulate perfectly our impatience with CBC selective news coverage.

So I grouped them and Emailed the CBC. I know. A waste of time no doubt. = TG

A few comments from political forum site, *SmallDeadAnimals*.

I saw the one on one with Mansbridge asking Karzie a number of depressing Taliban Jack questions.

Where? In what part of Canada were you showing the sea of demonstrators wearing red on Parliament hill?

TonyGuitar.blogspot.com

PS: On the CBC website, I did see a photo of PM Harper waving to a group of red support our troops placards. Hardly any people were showing at all. Is this how a photographer diminishes the size of a demonstration crowd?

No doubt the news of crowds on the hill was televised. Somehow this *Newshound* Missed seeing that TV news coverage. = TG

The speech by was our PM was 'unscheduled'...small remark about that fact by the TO SUN today. He continues to show that he is 'connected' with ordinary Canadians ...not the elite.

On the friday 5.30 global news there was the briefest of mention and picture of the support rally. Latter that night (actually saturday morning) I woke up as I seem more prone to do and turned on cknw, from vancouver, to listen to old, fifties, radio shows. The news came on, on the hour and there was no mention of the support rally however there was lots of coverage six protesters. CKNW is the top radio station in B.C. How do you combat this kind of brainwashing?
As for the rally it would have been better if the Trudeau-todie O'Connor had stayed away. He, like his boss keep saying they support the troups but lets look at their reccord. So far there has been plenty of photo ops and they are (planing to) sending 15 old tanks. Big deal! Where are the helicoptors. Canada stands alone. Its the only country that sends in its combat troups with-out air support.
The regressive conservatives like the liberals before them believe that there are several classes of citizens in the military. One glarring example, if your married your life is worth 250K, if your single you're worth nothing.
Something to think on. Tony

CAW: The helicopters are on the way. One sad fact is that even with contracts pending, the Canadian machines can't come off the production lines for years to come because of preceding orders. Right now the Harper government is trying to negotiate a lease program to get at least some heavy lift helicopters.

Close air support is an entirely different thing. We have jets that can do it, but not as well as helicopter gunships. That's why we are using the Dutch... they aren't as well prepared for ground operations, but they do have gunships. It's a good trade off.

The tanks, although old, are likely a very good fit. They aren't as heavy as some, yet plenty rugged enough for what the Taliban have to toss at them. They'll make awesome point-zero artilery.

Budgets will be raised, but not in one big whopping step... but I'd bet their are billions to be spent yet, and increasingly so.
