The NDP website quotes Hamid Karzai in such a way as to suggest that Canadian troops are bombing civilian villages. Jack Layton has gone too far. If he thinks that Canadian troops are engaged in such acts, he should stand up and say it himself, instead of using Karzai as his proxy.
Especially after Karzai delivered a speech today, in Parliament, right in front of Layton, thanking Canada for its efforts, both in civilian reconstruction and militarily.
Jack Layton is not just shameless. He's a shameless liar.
Update: The full text of Karzai's comments only serves to emphasize the full depth of the NDP lie.

Taliban Jack, Shameless? Say it isn't so?!
Really, what planet are these people on? How do people stomach voting for them?
He can't help it. When you've got your head stuck up either Hugo Chavez's ass or Fidel Castro's ass, you can't help but go where they go, eat what they eat and say what they say. If you don't, look out, a bad case gas and diharrea is on the way!
Oh take a tranquilizer or three !!! You people need to turn off your computers for an hour or two and go outside an breath some fresh air. Your self righteous indignation is SO adolescent.
Harper will be out of power soon enough - so maybe work on getting thicker skin. Sheeeeeeesh!
And your point on the matter at hand is?
Oh that's right, those damned facts that get in the way of my feelings really suck.
/leftdogshit
I have a question for leftdog. Do you think it will pop loudly when you pull you head out?
There's definitely something "unbalanced" here, but it's not Canada's presence in Afghanistan.
There are plenty of problems in our world, some serious and some not so.
Terrorism is a serious problem. All but the Lefties take it seriously.
We've had about enough of yippy little ankle biter, Taliban Jack Layton, spouting off against putting up a fight against terrorism wherever we find it.
We do not need any advice from you, Mr.leftdog.
Wow, the Conservatives must be scared sh*tless of the NDP. I have never, ever seen such a sustained (and comically inept, I might add) attack on such an insignificant political party. You have to admit it is somewhat incongruous and that it is logical to infer that the Conservatives view the NDP as a serious threat to their power.
They are scared Bob - look at the polls. For all of their anger and self righteous crap, these right wingers scare Canadians. Each day that goes by gets us closer to throwing these nutbars out of government. They lie, they freak out, they scream, they scare their neighbours. Collectively, they all need a good psychiatrist (and medication).
Can't happen soon enough.
Jack Layton is a scumbag.
As for Conservatives being "scared" of the NDP; not really.
But they are not an "insignificant political party." I wish they were. They garner about 20% of the Canadian vote, but more to the point, they live in a fantasy world which too many Canadians--including far too many in the MSM--also inhabit. Would that we could relinquish their passports to this La-La-Land.
Not only do they live in a fantasy world, they are deceitful liars. Anyone dealing with "people of the lie" know how twisted and labyrinthine, warped and bent out of shape things can get. One's only defence is honesty and truth, honour and sacrifice.
Being a party that doesn't have a chance in H*ll of ever governing, Dippers love to play games and grandstand. And I agree with the person on this blog a while ago who said be careful, be very careful, of Svend and Libby, who don't know fiction from fact.
Bob the insignificance is that the taliban take our parliament seriously and unfortunately believe that Layton will assist them in removing Canadians from the fighting in Afghanistan. The 4 Canadian soldiers who died last monday were the victims of Taliban Jack's posturing ( rather vote culling) who sees opportunity in every Canadian soldier killed. We don't see him as a threat to conservative power or liberal power for that matter. Taliban Jack is a threat to our Canadian soldiers fighting over there.
By the time the next election rolls around, people will have forgotten all about this. That is what really pisses me off.
Ignore Leftdog, he is a protypical troll. He gets bored that no one is reading his own blog (what a surprise) so her rolls over here to see what's happening, then writes about it at his place. Basically, ignore him as he has nothing worth saying anyway. Bob, on the other hand, is always interesting and usually has some merit to what he has to say. He does tend to go overboard from time to time, such as now, but overall is a good commenter. No Bob, I am not scared of the insignificant NDP, I just have a tough time listening to the drivel that is pouring out of their camp lately, and it deserves to be ridiculed for what it is, crap!!! By the way, I see Decima had the NDP at 21% in May and 15% now, quite the surge.
No, the CPC isn't attacking the NDP. We are, and we are not the CPC; we are Canadians.
What we are attacking is lies and stupidity by the NDP; just as we couldn't accept the lies and stupidity of the Liberal Party.
It's about integrity. Does that mean anything to a leftist? Bob - could you point out how our comments are 'an attack' and a 'comically inept attack'? We are commenting, we are critizing. I could say that your comments were a 'comically inept attack' against people who criticize Layton and the NDP.
Your logical error, bob, is to assume that our criticisms on this blog are the official voice of the CPC. That's untrue. We are Canadians, and are reacting to Layton and the NDP's comments.
For example, it is a lie, touted by Alexa McDonaugh, that the lives of women hasn't improved for the Afghan people; it is a lie, spoken by Layton, that we should 'go to Darfur', when he knows that Sudan won't let anyone into Darfur. Should we bomb our way in?
It is a lie, by Layton, that the financial cost of a military should equal or be less than the cost of a non-military rebuilding. The cost of the military can be far more than the cost of building even ten schools. Don't compare things which cannot be compared. That's grade one.
leftdog - could you provide some empirical proof that right-wingers (please explain) 'lie, freak out, scream, scare their neighbours'? Otherwise, you are merely insulting people but not providing any intelligent comments. Time and time again, all that the left does, is ad hominem insults. Rarely a logical and grounded argument.
I fully agree, been round the block, the left and NDP do live in a fictional world. They are utopians; they are social engineers, who insist that they can control people completely such that 'no bad things can happen'. That view belongs in the nursery but not in real life. But the left, most of whom are 'kept', ie, employed by some gov't fund, aren't involved in reality. They aren't in business, they aren't in entrepreneurial activities - so, they live in a fictional world where a statist authority rules over everyone. Hmmm. Sounds like the Taliban.
I'd also agree with gerry that the recent deaths in Afghanistan can be directly attributed to Layton's posturing; the Taliban are politically skilled; they know that it's would be easy to retake and rule Afghanistan, if they could get rid of the troops. So, they have Layton on their side; all they have to do, is a few deaths, and he 'cuts and runs', leaving the Afghan people to the Taliban. That's Our Layton.
Hey, Steven... How come all the links in your posts here lead back to your blog?
Bob..you do like to raise the room temperature don't you...
Leftdog-
All political parties eventually lose power, but in this case i think you will find that Mr.Layton is cementing the CPC in power for years to come.
You have to be elected before you can be thrown out, something i am sure you and your comrades will never have the pleasure of seeing. If you are not that far left, than i hope we can deny your party power for many more years..
People have every right to be outraged that the NDP compares our soldiers to terrorists and that we bomb villages...
Some of these dippers are so in need of a cause to usurp that they hope Canada will have its own Vietnam..
'been around the block
The NDP can only dream of getting 20% of the popular vote.
Jack is a political opportunist and a useful idiot.
It's clear his party's stupid remarks that the Canadian troops are terrorists has backfired on them, but he has no choice but to try to brazen it through. Pulling the troops became the NDP policy at the recent convention, and Jack can't back away from that even if he wanted to. It would take a major event or another convention for them to change party policy.
Now he's hooped, because all his pre-convention remarks and his party's policy will sink him.
Here's a tip, Jack. Walk east till your hat floats.
Since I already hold Layton and his part in the lowest contempt they cannot surprise me. They just keep re-enforcing what I already know about them.
Hey left dog, you must be an ass kissing union leader living in Saskatchewan sucking up to (off)Premier Lorne Calvert (soon to be out of work)
Come to think of it, Trent, the NDP got only 5% of the vote in the by-election in New Brunswick.
Now that was good news! Things are looking up as the Dipper support goes down.
YA!
DJ - your mother wants to wash you mouth out with soap. Your arguments are typical of the serious mental illness that prevails in the ranks of the right wing these days.
Keep scaring people with your nonsense. Brad Wall and his Saskatchewan Party (I mean the 'Conservatives' under the Witness Protection Program) are loud but that is about it.
If you check out Polls Canada, they have a comparative chart over several years for all parties. Just for this year, it's interesting, but the highest the NDP ever got was a Decima on Feb 2; they got 21. Their average is about 18.
The highest the Liberals got was a Feb 9 SES for 34. And the highest the CPC was a May 18 of 43.
But overall, the NDP are hovering around 18; the Liberals are stuck at 29. The CPC are about 38.
The current rating as of Sept 18, is CPC has 39, the Liberals 29, NDP 17, Bloc 8, Green 7.
So, all the CBC, CTV propaganda about the 'Tories are losing' and the leftist garbage, isn't found within hard data.
hey, been around the block - too bad you have no idea how politics works - In New Brunswick, the NDP vote strategically moved (from 9.3% to 5%) to the Libs JUST SO WE COULD THROW THE CONSERVATIVES OUT OF POWER!!! Get ready for more of the same - Harper will be out of the Prime Ministers office in a few months!!!!
Almost half of that vote went to the PC, their vote was up 2.05%, Libs up 2.8%, NDP down 4.8. The Conservatives actually had the highest popular vote.
If the leftists and democrats and msm in the US had any patriotism and supported Iraq, the war would have been over years ago. They are to blame for the many deaths of soldiers. OBL made a video, broadcast all over, stating, If the cdns come, we only have to kill a few as they have no stomach for casualties. They will cut and run. Didn't taliban jack watch that. How much is OBL paying him to take this stand. I have blamed him for every cdn soldier's death along with the cbc talking heads. I was ashamed to discover taliban jack and his supporters were in the HofC today. Bet he gets an earful tomorrow, but will never admit he has been severly scolded.
Too bad the leftists can't accept the fact that every time we give a little, the terrorists take it as victory for their side and call us all paper tigers.
mary - isn't there some cartoons you need to be watching on television??? Maybe you should leave the politics to people who can walk and chew gum at the same time. I think your post may be one of the dummest that I have EVER read on this site - and that says a lot.
you don't read your own? Must not be able to type and read at the same time!

Prime Minister Harper* concludes meetings with Afghan President Hamid Karzai
September 22, 2006
Ottawa, Ontario
At the conclusion of a working visit to Canada by Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Prime Minister Stephen Harper today expressed satisfaction with the strong partnership between their two countries, both working towards a brighter future for the Afghan people.
“I wish to thank President Karzai for visiting Canada at this crucial time,” the Prime Minister said. “His remarks to a joint session of Parliament earlier today served as a reminder of the important role Canadian diplomats, development workers and troops in Afghanistan are playing in stabilizing and rebuilding his nation.”
During his visit to Ottawa, President Karzai met with the Prime Minister to discuss a wide range of issues, including security and reconstruction activities currently underway. Canada is providing $1-billion in aid to Afghanistan over 10 years in addition to its commitment to the NATO-led military operation there.
“During our talks, the President repeatedly expressed his gratitude for Canada¹s military and humanitarian efforts on behalf of the Afghan people,” the Prime Minister stated. “I was also moved by his recognition of the sacrifice of the men and women of the Canadian Forces in his country.”
Prime Minister Harper reaffirmed his support for President Karzai’s efforts to provide stable and effective government for the people of Afghanistan. He pledged that Canada will retain its presence in that country until the work of building a firm foundation for a peaceful, democratic society is complete.
“Our job in Afghanistan is not done,” the Prime Minister concluded. “As Canadians, we will stay the course until our work there is complete.” ...-
God bless Stephen Harper and President Karzai.
God bless Canada and Afghanistan.

Back to the post. Now we know where Christina Lawand is working.Obviously, the NDP have found a use for her editing talents.
Dhimmi Jack Taliban's thorough and thoroughly deserved trashing that he's receiving in the blogosphere seems to have the leftie trolls all agitated. It's almost as gutwrenching as the turmoil going on at the Koz Kidz because they've got all lovey on Chavez until their most cheished moonbat Democrats told Chavez to get stuffed. Oops.
Lefties, you haven't gone far enough left yet. You just have to get a meeting between Taliban Jack and Chavez happening. Your anti-America cut-and-run scene is looking mighty weak compared to the boots Chavez is laying on the devil this week.
leftdog: 8:28 post, trying to ridicule mary: "Maybe you should leave the politics to people who can walk and chew gum at the same time. I think your post may be one of the dummest that I have EVER read on this site . . ."
Psst, leftdog:
1) It's "dumbest" not "dummest". [Root word: dumb]
2) It's "Aren't there some cartoons", not "Isn't there. . ."
'Just thought I'd help you out here.
And mary, hi there! Keep up the good work.
myblahg bit this one as well
ole' leftdog ain't the only one, mclelland got caught pushing the dishonest dipper line... he called it "KARZAI BURNS HARPER"
lookout. leftdog doesn't have to spell or speak correctly to confirm the fact he is a lonely attention seeking idiot.
Layton's inflammatory, inaccurate, and contemptible prattling about the Afghan mission will be his personal political epitaph and a stain on the NDP for years to come.
Harper and Karzai collectively pounded one out the park today. The ball, at last report, is still rolling through the parking lot. I fully expect Bill Graham to soon start reminding people that the Liberals initiated this mission.
Canada's back.
I have been following the discussion on the posting and I would like to add my thoughts. I just finished talking to my son In Edmonton, an ex-member of the Strats who are going to Afganastan with the Leopard tanks. He left the military about 6 month ago and now wishes he wouldn't have cause he would like to be going with them. Believe me, as a father I am glad he isn't. But I understand why he wants to go. I don't believe it's all for the higher purpose but also for the excitment and adventure. In spite of the fact he is out, he is highly irritated by the comments of Jack "bin" Layton. He and all the friends he has that are still in the military. Word to the wise Jack, don't go near an Army base for a while, best you stay in Ottawa. It's not that the boy's wouldn't like to see you, it's just that I don't think you'd like the reception! He know that if it were up to members of the NDP the army would be stuck shovelling snow in Ontario or building houses on some Indian reserve. He also knows what would happen if Canada had to call on members of the NDP to defend our country. Just imagine for a moment what it would be like if we had to depend on people like the Dippers to look after us. How secure would you feel? Thank God they will forever be relegated to third or fourth party status and just serve as an irritant to people like me or a comic sense of relief when people on the right start taking themselves too seriously. After all it's politics and Jack "bin" Layton is the ultimate poster boy for the NDP. He truly does hold all their uptopian values close. You can't really accuse him of being a realist...he mostly talks through his hat or talks to hear himself or entertain the "troops" as it were. I'm glad they have him as their leader, for after all they could have choosen someone with more intelligence, life experience and credibility. Then we might have more of a problem. But for the time being let him bluster away, you can't take him seriously, he's just trying to keep his job. He needs a paycheque same as the rest of us. Personally I would just a soon kick him in the ass, but I do need him and his kind around to humor me and keep me on track. I figure if we continue to do the opposite of what they suggest we should be OK!
Can't wait for that federal election, if TaliJack keeps self-detonating, and Bob Rae wins the liberal leadership.
Leftdog will soon be talking himself silly at the CPC majority that ensues.

thank you ron mullin and thank you to your son he did his part when thing's were tough on troops. when liberals/ ndp didn't care. now the lies they speak fall on ears of proud canadian's who silently love thier country and we see them for what they are.
Very well stated ET, Mary and BATB, I live among people like Jacko and Dawn and O'live ya; they think Canada is a bubble in the world. They figure that 'we' can exist in a welfare state bubble where 'someone' (Horrid Capitalists who WORK for their money, mostly oil workers in Alta!) generates unholy wealth (unholy except for their own wealth, of course) so the 'holier than thou' leftest-greenies can shuffle paper, apply for and get grants to do a 'study' or harass producers. 'Entitled' elitists have no room in their lives for soldiers, bravery, helping people to help themselves, or risking their neck OR their own MONEY for anything but pushing an agenda that will ensure that they never have to look after themselves or look at themselves in the mirror and judge their own deeds by the deeds of the intrepid or the generous.
I do not like the glazed fanatical look in Laytons eyes when he speaks, it must be awful to be in 'his' caucus. I do not blame the President of Afghanistan for not wanting to meet with Jacko, the lines of concern on Mr. Karzai's face testify to many sorrows in his heart. 'Justifying' such monumental sorrows to a hard hearted narrow minded, stingy, stoopid fool like Layton would be very difficult. A politician that rants about 'safe needle injection sites' would have little in common with someone who sees innocent old people beheaded on a regular basis in his own country. Jack has led a very 'protected' life and he shows his childish mentality every day. He is a disgrace to Canada.
Not to be left out in the sleaze department, Volpe has been caught signing up the DEAD?
see bourque link to the Toronto Star story
Jack be dim-ble,
Jack be a jerk-a
With him in charge (sic)
Chow'll be in a burqa!
Sorry! But such a trite little twit as Jack Layton deserves such doggerel.
(I posted this earlier at WS.)
Rich, Volpe signing up the dead is very appropriate. Dead members for a dead campaign.
hey left dog lets see how your ndp are doing in sask. these days. saskatoon and regina, highest crime rates in canada, saskatoon and regina, no 1 and 2 in murder rate in canada. saskatchewan has the longest waiting lists in the country for surgery. how shameful from a ndp government that at election time puts the fear of mediscare in the minds of old people. how can a ndp government make an 80 year old lady (my granny) wait 2 years for hip replacement. and during those two years she had to experience pain that not even morphene could combat. meenwhile she paid her taxes (12000 dollars per year to a liberal/ ndp government that just doesn't give a rats ass). hey left dog are you still with me. what the hell has lorne calvert done for this province? in the last two budgets he has given people on welfare more money per month. this must be where he gets all his votes. meanwhile i (a working, taxpaying, father, husband, homeowner) have not seen any benifit to living in sask, while the province racks up a billion dollar surpluss. my property taxes are the highest in canada on the education side of things. where is the money lorne. hey left dog, grant devine is ancient history, no need to go there. the union movement in this province can't see the forest for the trees. why would a union worker not want a high paying job like the ones in fort mac right here in sask? like i said. hey left dod i can't wait for the day when romanow, calvert, and the rest of the top ndp get old and need medicare. will they waite in line with the rest of us? i think not. so jump on the band wagon left dog and lets get this province really booming. there is room for all who make a contribution, union people, business owners, etc. there is no room for welfare bums and criminals in my sask. nice talking to ya
People,
Lets remember: Do not feed the trolls.
Leftdog = troll = DO NOT FEED lest he think someone actually cares(about him).
They probably. It's hard not to. Every mud shack has Taliban and some have civilians in them. It's a war and civilians pay the biggest price as in all wars.
Bin Layton can say what he wants; his views should hardly come as a surprise. The shame is, the terrorists thinks he is actually representative of Cdn opinion. I remember, two elections ago, he made a comment that Liberal policy was causing homeless deaths. So, Jack, how many Canadian soldiers' deaths have you caused by you opporunistic, ignorant and naive comments? You are a twit and I hope you and Bob Rae are party leaders in 2007 to ensure a CPC majority.
You mean there are still cartoons on TV. Taliban Jack is a living cartoon. Since my kids grew up in the howdy doody days, haven't had much reason to watch them. However, my grandchildren come over and watch the news with me and we discuss politics. My home has also had many teenagers during the years to get help with a current event projects, and it is a given if anyone needs to know who is a premier, govenor, PM or Pres, I am the one to call. It would be interesting to know the bios of various posters, business experience, working experience and general life experiences. I think it would surprise many of us to know that the majority of us have similar values.
I have had the opportunity to travel across Canada and give speeches, met several prov Premiers, introduced several as guest speakers, have met Senators, homeless people, and many in the disability community. Speak 3 languages, english, ASL and Profanity. On my census form I answer professional advocate for various causes, when asked for employment. I have also received many National Awards from various organizations. None that have anything to do with the SOWs. So, leftdog, don't mess with me, you will lose. Just wondering, do you have a photo of you and taliban jack. I personally know Steven Harper, my MP, Rick Casson, my local MLA and several of our current cabinet ministers, and have photos of us together to prove it. Even have one with my Senator, Joyce Fairburn. And just for fun I will mention the photo with Robin Williams while he was filming RV in our area.
