"The Ontario Medical Association issued a report in 2005 saying that every year 5,800 Ontarians will die prematurely because of smog related illness..."
How do they arrive at this number? Do they do autopsies after every Ontario death?
I'm not sure if David Suzuki cares as much about credit as he does about seeing his ideas implemented."
David Suzuki lives on Quadra Island B.C. Some of my close family members are his neighbours. They've told me that Suzuki among other things is a reclusive attention seeker that is 1 step away from placing a statue to himself on his front lawn.
Dion may have ripped him off but you have to ask yourself, what are the consequences of that action to the environment?
Just a couple of grandstanders with emotional issues craving the limelight.
Dion actually deserves some credit for plagiarizing the ideas of Harper and Manning and turning it into the Clarity Act. Utopians hate Clarity, it’s like kryptonite to Superman, hence Dithers was against the Act. So good for Dion on that one.
But it’s one thing for Dion to be a successful Minister; it’s another to be PM (as again, we learned from Dithers). The picture of Dion should be a reminder to all of us about the... hmmm … Peter Principal.

Do you seriously define 'support for the troops' as existent if and only if, every time of a casualty, the SDA blog comments, debates, and discusses this casualty? Why? How does that show support for the troops?
How do we show support for our troops? First, in contradiction to you, we actually acknowledge the reality of terrorism. You don't. Your remark of 'your war on terror' trivializes the reality of terror. We don't trivialize it. We know it's real.
We also acknowledge that the left supports the ideology promoting terrorism. We are aware that the left supports terrorism and Islamic fascism, reducing them both to the status of 'victims of the West', and refusing to acknowledge the pathology within them. We acknowledge the reality of the left's perspective; it isn't 'putative'; it's real.
Therefore, we show our support for the troops by acknowledging that the war they are fighting is very real and not fictional as you suggest. We acknowledge that Islamic fascism is real and not merely a stance on the negotiating table (a la Jack Layton). We show our support by acknowledging these individuals as military, subject to the reality of casualties, and not the nursery tale fictional beings that the left wants called 'peacekeepers'.
We live in a world of fact not fiction. Discussing facts and trying to turn them into fictions won't work.
My views on the WOT are well known. They do not change with losses on the battlefield. I'm just proud that Canadians are finally fighting in places where their sacrifices are relevant, and they don't have to do so with one hand tied behind their back by UN peacekeeping rules of engagement.
If twits like you, "agitfact" were here expressing the same outrage at the senseless death of a Canadian peacekeeper in that quagmire known as Haiti (while his UN comrades snapped pics while he died), you might be taken more seriously. But the only time the left is concerned about military casualties is when they believe they can use them to score political points.

Dion event in Nova Scotia no dine and dash: Liberal organizer
Canadian Press
HALIFAX — A Halifax student has experienced the public scrutiny of politics first-hand after he was accused of skipping out on the tab for an event he organized for Liberal leadership candidate Stephane Dion.
“It's so sad because it was a stupid little mistake that I made, and I fixed it pretty much right away,” Colin Hebb said Saturday.
The 23-year-old hosted a two-day tour for Mr. Dion around the region last weekend, including a meet-and-greet party at the Celtic Corner pub in Dartmouth, N.S., on Sunday.
He admits he drove away and forgot to cover the bill, which he paid later over the phone. But he said he was shocked when a story ran in a Montreal newspaper and was picked up by The Canadian Press.
Mr. Hebb, who is pursuing his MBA at Saint Mary's University, is on the executive council of the Nova Scotia Young Liberals.
Don't be surprised to see Suzuki parachuted in as a "star" candidate for the Liberals...supporting Dion, of course. I can't imagine that Dion or his supporters would be so stupid as to quote so heavily without prior approval...Suzuki's gotta be on Dion's team.
My deepest heartfelt sympathy to the families of our 5 very brave and dedicated fallen soldiers.
agitfact,
Your comments are misplaced and inappropriate. Only an opportunist without a conscience would take this tragic news and use it to criticize a relatively harmless group like conservative SDA bloggers.
agitfact...I used to read your posts in an effort to try and understand what at one time appeared to be at least a well-meaning lefty's ideology.
Thanks for saving my time by identifying yourself as just another pointless lefty who pops up from time to time to accomplish nothing more than a gratuitous drive-by smearing of all conservatives.
As for Dion...steal,lie,attempt coverup....seems to me he has the exact leadership skills the LPC is looking for.
32 cdns have died since 2002 in Afganistan. 5800/yr died in Ont from smog. Maybe it is healthier in Afganistan so more Ontario men and women should join the army. And, we do have sympathy for our fallen soldiers and their families.
Warren Kinsella can speak for himself, and he just did, on his blog, Sept 1.
In MY opinion, I think WS spoke, wrote, what many Libs are privately thinking these days. WS may be a Punk Rocker, good or bad, but in the past year or so, his biggness, unsmallness is showing through in spades.
Also, in MY opinion, WS is the one most responsible for saving Canadians from the Hoax that was, PMPM. SC slso helped.
Susuki's body, Dion's head, not sure where that would fit into the anti-pollution David's been spending all this time on, don't think Dion really had/has a plan on environment.
If this were the US, the Maple Leaf Motto would be closer to the heart.
Oh well, the Maple Leaf Forever is still a great song, doubt Steph Dion knows the words, there's the kicker.
Soldiers die in battle, it was ever thus, always sad. We all grieve. It is beyond filthy politics.

Also notice in the same G&M article that The Jacuzzi Foundation didn't care about Dion's "theft". Does Dion not realize that PMPM's backing a Hoax, Kyoto, was a big reason for his downfall ?
September 5, 2006 - WOW! is all I can say to this first crack in the dam that is about to flood the Stéphane Dion leadership campaign. I cannot get over the irony of a former university professor and academic plagiarising content on a public policy issue that Dion portrays himself as owning. And then on top of that, they try to cover their tracks, and again get caught red-handed.
Take it for what its worth, folks, but as far as I'm concerned, you might as well stick a fork in Mr. Dion - because he's about done. ...-

You've got to give it up for Stephane Dion: The man is a genius. He has a deep understanding of the issues that are facing Canada and he is working to address them. Just today Stephane Dion released the most sophisticated and comprehensive Clean Air Plan Canada has ever seen.
But wait: the news of this release also comes with a secondary and still more interesting effect. By releasing his plan now, before the release of the Green Plan part 2, Stephane Dion has beat Stephen Harper to the punch-line and taken the wind out of Mr. Harper's sails. This move shows that Mr. Dion is clearly a very brilliant politician indeed.
On Dion, on Kyoto, mush you thirsty Librano$. On to the clean water plan Friday. ...-

let's see, Trudeau (x16 years!), Mulroney, Chretien, Martin...
For a province who whines as much as it does, it has represented the power base in Ottawa for far too long, and yet they still complain.
