Do you seriously define 'support for the troops' as existent if and only if, every time of a casualty, the SDA blog comments, debates, and discusses this casualty? Why? How does that show support for the troops?

How do we show support for our troops? First, in contradiction to you, we actually acknowledge the reality of terrorism. You don't. Your remark of 'your war on terror' trivializes the reality of terror. We don't trivialize it. We know it's real.

We also acknowledge that the left supports the ideology promoting terrorism. We are aware that the left supports terrorism and Islamic fascism, reducing them both to the status of 'victims of the West', and refusing to acknowledge the pathology within them. We acknowledge the reality of the left's perspective; it isn't 'putative'; it's real.

Therefore, we show our support for the troops by acknowledging that the war they are fighting is very real and not fictional as you suggest. We acknowledge that Islamic fascism is real and not merely a stance on the negotiating table (a la Jack Layton). We show our support by acknowledging these individuals as military, subject to the reality of casualties, and not the nursery tale fictional beings that the left wants called 'peacekeepers'.

We live in a world of fact not fiction. Discussing facts and trying to turn them into fictions won't work.

My views on the WOT are well known. They do not change with losses on the battlefield. I'm just proud that Canadians are finally fighting in places where their sacrifices are relevant, and they don't have to do so with one hand tied behind their back by UN peacekeeping rules of engagement.

If twits like you, "agitfact" were here expressing the same outrage at the senseless death of a Canadian peacekeeper in that quagmire known as Haiti (while his UN comrades snapped pics while he died), you might be taken more seriously. But the only time the left is concerned about military casualties is when they believe they can use them to score political points.

PJJ: Thank you for linking the work of police, firefighters and rescue workers to the work of the military. I've often wondered why Wacko Jacko and the Dippers (sounds like a 60's musical group) don't recall the services of police, firefighters and rescue workers because THEIR line of work is too dangerous, too.

"We shouldn't fight in any war where our heroic men and women could get killed" seems to be their cry...so wouldn't it naturally follow that we should just have our police, firefighters and rescue workers hide under their desks lest they die on the job, too?

September 5, 2006 - WOW! is all I can say to this first crack in the dam that is about to flood the Stéphane Dion leadership campaign. I cannot get over the irony of a former university professor and academic plagiarising content on a public policy issue that Dion portrays himself as owning. And then on top of that, they try to cover their tracks, and again get caught red-handed.
